Misleading title... but it's kind of funny how he's absolutely focused on the wolf until he realizes it's fake and then suddenly the ball is way more interesting.
Its 2 years old but let me explain: The dog is doing ''forestanding''. Basically hunting dogs were breeded to stand perfectly still / approach a target extremely slowly while being fixated at it the entire time. Its not that its interesting, the dog is just showing his owner/hunter that there is something in the distance. So the hunter could shoot it and the dog retrieve it. Since there is no hunter to shoot, the dog approaches it alone, realizes its not real, and goes back to play mode instead of ''forestand'' mode.

Very good video! It is clearly shown the hunting instinct activated (visual pointing of the prey) at the Hungarian Vizsla dog, even that the pray is not a small mammal or bird. The tense was so long because the wind blows in the coyote's direction, from the dog. He could not smell the "enemy", or pray. Imagine the second of disappointment of this dog.... realizing that is a toy coyote... :) Congrats.
Great video! My terrier crouched low, started growling when I put a picture I was working on, next to the door. It showed a mother and child. It certainly got my attention.
Vizlas are hunting dogs breed for "pointing" pray and returning it once its shot. They have traditional sense for catching or attacking prey. Watch videos where vizlas where they are used for bird hunting.
This video made me so happy and laugh pretty genuinely at the end. Thank you for putting this up =] Don't mind all the stupid dislikers and ridiculous comments. Only a vizsla owner (I have 2) could truly appreciate this video!
back when humans were nomads, wolves would scavenge off the remains left by human nomadic tribes while they were on the move following herds of buffalo or warmer climates. the most successful wolves were the ones who could get closest to the humans without being scarred because they had smaller adrenal glands. those small adrenal glands kept getting smaller and small as they were passed down because those wolves were well fed by the humans leavings and had stronger offspring. (natural selection hard at work) Humans benefited from the scavenging dogs as well as a type of warning system because they would bark at other tribes with violent intentions as well as other dangers such as weather. (development of symbiotic relationship). As the adrenal gland became smaller and smaller a phenomenon occurred and a wide variety of unique characteristics started to become expressed by the wolves. different colors of fur, different noses, heights lengths ears and all sorts of variables happened. a recent study was conducted on breeding wild foxes and it only took 5 or 6 generations of breeding before their exposure to humans shrank the adrenal glands enough for the variable differences to occur such as fur color and size changes. humans then learned to breed certain characteristics to their liking simply by feeding the dogs that were fast, or pointed or were cute so they would have successful offspring with the desired traits as well. BAM! science
That was simply fantastic. Had me going until the end. It's gotta be the best thing on the internet... second only to the guy punching the kangaroo that was holding his dog. Just perfect!
i disliked it becuz i dont aproove of hunting wolfs for sport, its stupid. every animal has the right to feed, the dog gets his food by the owner, the wolf doesnt, he needs to hunt.
The dummy wolf standing so still made the dog as cautious in it's approach. The dummy looks like it is calmly listening to every sound hence the setter's stealth.
Will you be my puppy then Julie? I will look after you, take you out, feed you nice doggy food. Give you plenty doggy treats and will even build you a little kennel you can stay in during the summer. plsplspls!
That dog is actually very smart...he noticed that the camera person was moving in the line of sight of the "wolf" and that the wolf didn't look or react and only then did the dog realize it was safe. Animals are much smarter and intuitive than most people give them credit for. They also have feelings so be nice to them.
