    I bought the P5 a year before the P6 replaced it, the HT bypass was a killer feature, unbeatable. Have mine paired with the A23, and the sound is great. A preamp-Amp combo is a much better idea than an integrated, if one dies you can replace it and keep the other, and try replacing the amp on an integrated.

    Now, having enjoyed my P6 for about 2 years it appears I made the right choice for 2.1 entertainment. First, black as coal backgrounds from any input, including MM and MC phono stage and next easy sub management for smooth sub performance. The greatest pleasure has come recently from Apple Music lossless streams via usb to the P6.

    In my experience after speakers, the preamp makes the biggest difference. I've gone from using an integrated as a preamp, then changing my preamp twice. Each time there was a change in preamp the difference was quite large.

    I really like my P6. Having gone from a P5 there is definitely improvement in noise floor as well as channel balance throughout the volume range.
    I cannot comment on the new Sabre dac since I use a dedicated DAC, but I'm sure it is improved as well.

    It’s a great preamp for the price I was between this one and the peach tree because of the HT bypass, I have my HT and listening system in the same room. I end it up with Parasound.

    Nice choice Mike... So much functionality at a very good price... You'll get many years of enjoyment from your Parasound P6..... I wonder how long before you're considering pairing it with an A21+ 👍🏻

    Love my P6. My 30 year old Forte 45 gave up the ghost and I did quite a bit of research and the 2 sub outs were perfect for my 2 SVS SB 3000s.

    I own this Parasound preamplifier and have enjoyed it for almost two years. It is a very good preamplifier. However, I recently acquired a Bryston preamplifier: the Bryston BP6. I am no audiophile able to give reasons why audio equipment works and sounds the way it does. All I can say is that I prefer the Bryston preamplifier. Superior sound to the Parasound in every way. I am now looking to upgrade to the Bryston BR-20, I like it that much.

    Purchased a P6 last week. My initial impressions are that it's smoother and less grainy compared with my Rotel RSP 1098, TACT 2.0 and HK 825. The bass extension though! Wow! I found another octave in my subwoofer.

    I'm sure it sounds quite good but one thing surprises me. I also looked into lots of preamps with built-in dacs. There was a constant that I noticed. A linear power supply toroidal Transformer in all of them. When I look at the insides of the parasound it's like a cave. They certainly dialed it up with features but didn't concentrate on the power Supply. To me it comes down to do you want a crap ton of features or are you focusing more on the sound.

    Show the item in use, walk the viewer thru it's features. How does the volume work? is 75 the max or silence? Stuff like that. No mention of the phono stage, where do the tone controls take effect, broad range or tight? The crossover doesn't control the main XLR outputs, any turn on/off thumps? there are many things about this unit you could discuss.

    • @audioarkitekts

      Unfortunately, there were a lot of missed opportunities during my earlier videos. I didn't have someone holding my hand like other TH-camrs, I had to figure all of it out on my own. I appreciate the feedback and will definitely apply some of these points in future preamp videos.

    Hi Mike, I am the owner of a Adcom GFA 555 do you think it's okay to pair this amplifier with a modern preamp. I was leaning towards a Rotel RC 1590 MkII. Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    • @audioarkitekts
      @audioarkitekts  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the Parasound with the Adcom could be an interesting match. I haven't tested much from Rotel in my experience so I couldn't give you a comparison. But as far as pre amps are concerned I really like the Parasound and how balanced it sounds right out of the box.

  • @zackw4941
    @zackw4941 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a Hint 6, which is basically the P6 plus A23(+?) in one box. I bought it used for $2k and I'm happy with it for that price. The onboard DAC isn't embarrassed by my significantly higher end discreet unit from my headphone system.
    At retail prices, I think the Halo line is a little overpriced, considering that something like an Emotiva TA-2 exists for $1k. My Emotiva TA-1 + Schiit Vidar combo is right behind the Hint 6. A little bit less natural and refined than the Hint 6, but also a little bit more lean detail and vocal forward. The slightly recessed vocals of the Hint 6 DAC are the only complaint I have with the unit, sonically.
    I'm driving a pair of Tekton Moabs and my room is far and away the limiting factor now.

      Can you tell me how much bass tremble the Emotiva TA2 has and at what herz example 10db at 50hz would be appreciated thinking about getting me one thanks

    • @zackw4941
      @zackw4941 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@alfredbrown7608 I only owned a TA-1, which was a little under powered. The TA-2 has more power, but there's also more options at its price point. I don't have a ton of experience with budget integrated amps though. I have since moved up the Parasound line to their discreet JC2 preamp and JC5 power amp. Assuming the TA-2 has a pretty similar signature to the TA-1, it's a very clean, neutral sound. Parasound goes for a slightly warmer, more musical presentation and does better with three-dimensional imaging. Nothing is lost either, at least compared to my TA-1. The Hint 6 is on a completely different level, as it should be for the cost difference.
      Hint 6's are widely available used around $2k, which is double the price of a new TA-2.. But in my own experience, I recommend pinching your pennies and saving up for it. It's going to be a much better amp than what you're likely to find in the TA-2.

      The digital inputs should work from your Node to the P6. Did you try the input selector? If it still doesn't work I would return it. The P6 has a decent DAC. Definitely try RCA to make sure its not the Node that is faulty as well.

    If it did would you be better off with the USB Type B or OPtical cable for Audio quality?

    • @audioarkitekts

      That's a tough one. However, what I would always recommend is finding an external DAC with the right connections that you are comfortable with. Many DACs, both external and internal, have their pros and cons. However, once you find the right DAC for your musical taste, it will truly change the game for you.

    Options and sound quality are TWO different things......as the musical potential ( not the power ) of the power amplifier raises..........so will it be the case of the preamplifier...
    There's a big ( and growing ) difference between high end quality today and musicality of amplifiers and a system..........one is for the mind , pure sound ( not music ) and impressive performance ...........the other is for the soul to connect to the music............
    There's no discussion or arguing between the two ways of reproducing sound or music......it's a personal choice and personal taste...........just do not confuse both approaches !
