I have been feeling inclined to write a horror novel and today I decided I wanted to include an occult detective element, I found your channel through this video and am fascinated by your takes on literature and the worlds of mythology, occult, supernatural etc.
Would like to hear your review/opinion on Ian Gordon's (Horror Babble) own occult detective Peter Van Melsen, who in my opinion fits well with your description of what an occult detective is supposed to be.
So Hjorstberg's Falling Angel & Fallen Angel would be the archetype? I kinda like that... Though i guess it's a very short series, can't go any further forward, really.
I think you've struck right to the heart of the matter Bob. 100% with you on this! Sorry not much of a debate!
Thanks, Roy. Nothing against Urban Fantasy, it's just...different, and not my main focus.

Thank you. And best of luck. Obviously, this is my favorite genre. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
Fantastic disctinction from the urban fantasy! And man do I prefer the occult detective trope to the former! Fantasy to me I wish to be classical!
We are of the same mind.

I'll have to look into that. Thanks for the recommendation.

True. A pity too. I love those books.
