- I PASSED MY PHD QUALIFYING EXAM
Ep. 15: This is my new found freedom after studying for my PhD qualifying exam for the past two months, now I won't have to stress about an exam for the next three years until my final PhD exam. Of course, grad students never get a break, so watch me gear up for scholarship and grant season by preparing my manuscripts for some upcoming publications and doing lots of biostats. I also show you my typical day when I am NOT stressing out about an exam, like running errands, yarn shopping, reading, and working out at the gym. Hope you enjoy :)

Huge fan of the content. As someone who wants to persue a phd in cancer immunotherapy . I would really appreciate it if you talked a little more about how you got into a funded program in a prestigious school and what were the qualifications for that ? My mid GPA is the factor that disappoints me and i wonder if i can make up for that with a research paper . Id be really glad if you talked about that on your next videos 🙏

would love to see a video about your process for creating anki cards! are you reading the literature and creating a card from a single article or is it a card for a topic and then you put in what you learn from articles? i always saw anki cards for memorizing vocabulary. for what it's worth i'm in the social sciences (literacy education) so it may be a little different for me.

Hey! My research is under the broad umbrella of biomedical research since I do clinical and translational work. I specifically do biomedical research in the context of human immunology :)

So sorry but no :( I took one intro course to biostats and retained like 5% of the content, the majority of my knowledge now comes from actually working with real datasets and troubleshooting for hours to learn the codes

How old are you my fair maiden if I may ask... also I dnt knw anything about medicine, but i knw a little bit about coding, lemme just say the mandem aint got no real skills beyond that, no cv, no qualifications, no chance? undeniably interested in one day maybe hanging up the slacks for a doctorate maybe... maybe
people complaining at how expensive some things are... ok have you considered how expensive it is for that local business to even exist with the cost of rent or overheads??? Or just the cost of sourcing, making, shipping then selling what it is you want?????
of course! but even the small business shop owners I spoke to said that lots of special yarns are quite pricey and thats why the owners are conscious and also try to stock more affordable yarn for beginner hobbyists like me :)
