Ozzstar. Excellent videos. Can I ask something regarding the climate control unit 1992 C4. I have a code 9 on my unit - low refrigerant - I have had the unit recharged but the code will not clear and the A/C will not function. Any ideas. Thx
1991 C-4, Blower motor fan control module needed replacement.... Got a 1992 Delco module from Amazon and the wiring plugins work fine but the module base has a different bolt pattern. I was able to use the new module by drilling 3 new pilot holes for the 3 hold down screws. Removing the 2 wiring connectors on the module was EASY following your video....Thanks

Great video Ozz and great explanation of how it works and how to diagnose the blower module. I'm sure this video will help a lot of folks out there. Have a great weekend!
See I can understand what to do in your vids , awesome explanation buddy. Driveshaft Drew awesome channel great guy. Joel was cool to send you a camera wow. Buddy your daughter stole the whole vid that day and everybody liked that vid. When you detail a car ha-ha I was looking for at least a bit of dust, man the engine bay was spotless. Cheers
You got it Steve, I try to keep it simple. Good people out here in Ytube land including yourself. Takes me about 9 hours on avg to detail just the exterior of a car...i have an illness! LOL 5 stage process I have a video on it. Enjoy the stay at your camp.
I have a 1990 convertible. I did your diagnostics as explained but I have voltage coming in from my programmer to my green/tan continuosly even when key is off and removed. Causing my blower motor to run and battery to discharge. I ohmed out the blower motor module and it was open circuit from red power to purple blower terminals making me believe it's not the module. Any further advice? Thanks in advance.
Hi, i been told there is also a fuse which if its blown can make the heater blow even when the engine is off and key out. Thats happening on my 1990 convertible. But where is that fuse located ?
Aren't those work lights from Astro great? I love mine. It's been a long time since I've had a Corvette in my garage. I miss having one, what great cars. You explained the process very well. Nice job.
Thanks Wyatt! Yes I like the Astro lights. I wish the the 40SL held the charge a little bit longer but it does put out a bright amount of light. Take care
Thanks - I have a 1990 vette with the blower staying on. I will follow your video to repair. Do you have a video of replacing the radio with the wiring diagram. I have an open circuit and the lights on my control temperature head wont lite up when I push a button and my dash consul interupts regularly. Hopefully u can understand my question.
Good video. Question: The blower on my '92 LT1 was running all the time but not on "HIGH" . I unplugged both the module and blower to keep the battery from draining. I just checked and there IS continuity between the red and purple wire module terminals but wondering if the meter would show continuity IF it was set to a speed other than "OFF" at the time I unplugged it (ie does it remember and retain the most recent setting?) OR should there be NO continuity regardless of the speed setting at the time it was unplugged?
I really enjoy your channel. Another great video Ozzstar! Can you do a video about what to do when the hood gets stuck on a 90-96 C4 because the hood release cable breaks?
Thanks icurt. If I get the time that would be a good video, thanks for the suggestion. I will keep it in mind. As always thanks for watching and commenting.
Great video always check your channel out for how to videos you have saved me a hell of a lot of money here in the uk the moment to say corvette the price goes up
It's 3am Monday morning here in the US and you just made comment of the week rosiegary! It takes a lot of my time and energy to make good videos. Thank you for the continued support, it means a lot to me! -Glen
Thank you Glenn the c4 is my dream car i had to wait 53 years to fulfill that dream it brightens my day just sitting in her drive her every day i know there not everybody's cup of tea but she's mine
The C4 is historically important as any other Corvette made. Don't believe what internet forum warriors say and mark my words. I have been to the National Corvette Museum in Kentucky and saw first hand how many C4's are on display! No matter what car you drive if you like it then enjoy it!! Live that dream Gary!
Nice video. I'm having a problem with my 1996 Corvette AC controls and blower motor. The head unit comes on but only displays two small dash like lines and the blower motor constantly blows on high through defrost and floor vents only. I don't have any control at the head unit.
One day I was just cruising and the head unit started to function properly so I plugged in the 2 plugs back to the blower control module. Went home parked it and the next day it was doing the same thing as I stated above.
Great video. I have a 1992 that the blower works only on 10, the buttons work and show all the different speeds 0-10, but any only runs on 10. Would this likely be the blower module?
Most times when that occurs (fan only working on HIGH) in any vehicle the blower motor resistor (module in this case) is the cause. I would suggest you do some testing diagnostics before replacing any parts.
@@ozzstars_cars I have a similar issue with 94 C4 Base. Two dashes in control head, high blower and no diagnostics. I noticed in your module test you went pos lead to 12v pin and neg lead to purple pin. In the same test on the new part you put neg lead to 12v pin and pos lead to purple pin. I tested my module and when I put pos lead to 12v pin I get an open best if I put the neg lead to the pos pin I see max resistance/closed/short. A short should show either way, no? I'm the guy that holds the lightbulb when the two guys turn the ladder.
Hey Oz, my 95 corvette's blower works intermittently. When I check power at the connector for the blower I'll get voltage momentarily but then it drops out. I think the blower brushes are going bad in the blower because I can tap on it and it will come on. But the the voltage drop has me confused. Now, I am checking with the connector off of the blower, don't know if that makes a difference or not. With a call for the fan I would believe I should have a constant voltage at that connector.
Yes at the fan there should be constant voltage when turned on. You checked power but it''s just as important to check for proper ground. A loose or bad ground can cause headaches. Before calling a bad blower motor, apply 12V directly to the motor with a known good ground. Does it start and work correctly?? If it does you have an issue somewhere in the circuitry. Let me know how it goes and good luck.
Have a 1990 c4. Blower motor won't come on when any mode selection is made. Cleaned the climate controller as you described in your other video. Still nothing. Could it be the blower control module?
I know this is an old video, but just in case someone stumbles onto it and needs the info. This module for the Corvette runs between $80 to $120. The 93 to 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee uses the exact same part and is currently available on Amazon for $16.
I have a 95 and the a/c blower continues to blow after I shut the car off through the defrost. A/C panel is working properly. What or where should I start looking for?
Hey Ozz. Your video from a few years ago helped me replace my climate control in my 94 base model. Thanks for that. My blower motor has been making noise for a while. On the way home from work one day, it stopped working. I installed a new one but I still can’t get it to work. The info I’ve found on line has been limited. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, sir!
Michael check power and ground at the blower connector if that's good test the blower directly with 12 volts. If it turns on the motor is good. Problem is elsewhere.
1992 corvette -I have been doing some diagnostics on blower fan that only runs on high. I have power to module, have over 6 volts on tan wire, don't have any readings on purple wire on lower fan speeds. However when I check voltage at blower I have over 12v at 10 speed and have decreasing volts down to about 6v at 1 speed. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Tom
I would suspect the module is defective from what you are telling me here. A voltmeter is not fast enough to see the change in duty cycle. Having a oscilloscope would prove that the module is defective. The blower motor is working so I would think the grounds are good.
I have had an issue for a long time that on occasions the car will start riding like it has a flat tire. I have replaced the tires, the shocks and just finished replacing the rack & pinion. It appear to be fine for a couple of times out, but yesterday it did it again although not as bad. there does not seem to be any pattern to it you can drives for miles and all of a sudden it will start to do it. you can pull over and stop and it will usually stops, but it may start up again. Since replacing the rack & pinion it is less of a vibration but still there. I also replaced a front wheel bearing. It is very strange. I am lost and have put a lot of money into having these things done by shops.
Ok, I'm back. Finally had time to check control module everthing is ok with that and it was also getting power from ac programmer. Took headunit out of dash to to check for connection. Disconnected wiring harness from head unit and plugged it back in, same result, blower blowing on high thru defrost and floor. Disconnected wiring unit from head unit again turned key to on position and it is stll blowing on high with head unit in house on table. Any suggestions?
Clean the control head contacts like I show in my other video, check that all PINS are straight and not corroded, then reconnect it. Jiggle/wiggle/push wires at the connector with the key on to see if you can get the fan speed or head unit to work properly. Did it work? If not then go the the programmer. Check the wiring connections there, a wiring diagram would be helpful to find out of the signal is getting to the head unit from the prorammer. Has anyone installed an aftermarket radio or done any work behind the dash panel? You need to really look for any damaged wires that my be cut, corroded OR bent pins.
So, I have a 1990 Corvette, and my heater was working until I replaced the 10 amp fuse for the car stereo. Can anyone shed light on my issue, and if there's a fuse to it? Thanks.
I watched this video and the "Climate Control Repair" video and neither are helping me diagnose the root cause of my blower on full speed only when AC is engaged. It doesn't matter if blower set to 1 or 10, it blows at full speed when Auto, Recirculate or StraightVent is set. When feet/straight or just feet vent is set, it runs at a much lower setting. But regardless of which mode it running on, the UP/DOWN controls are not working. The LED display shows the correct up/down number, but the blower itself does not change. Engaging the AC Controller diagnostics reports "00" - no issues found. Any ideas?
@@ozzstars_cars - could you clarify please. The blower motor "resistor" or the blower motor "controller"? If the resistor, do you have a video or diagram that shows where the resistor is located? 85% of google searches "1992 corvette blower motor resistor" returns parts/images/videos for the blower module...and just a few links for the "resistor" part - but no info on where/how to replace it.

Hey I need help, I have a 95 corvette, the temp control works but if i put the temp on 90 is blows hot like it should but if I put it on 80 it blows cool, will this part fix it.
No aftermarket radio. Car is in stock condition. Pulled programmer and added new vacuum lines directly to programmer, still same result. unplugged programmer fanned stopped blowing and 2 dashes disappeared from head unit. I think programmer is shot. The 96 programmers are hard to find and they are not cheap. Has anyone ever used a 95 programmer in a 96?
Vacuum lines would have no effect on fan blower speed that is for controlling vent flapper position. Did you take the programmer apart and check for any burn components or cracked solder joints? Did you check any of the circuit integrity at the programmer connector or the head unit using a wiring diagram? Checking for power and normal ground voltage (.02 volts or less) How is the continuity of the wiring between the programmer and head unit? All this needs to be tested to give you direction to find evidence to the problem
@ Ozzstar Will try to locate a wiring diagram from programmer to head unit and check today. Will let you all know what I find. Thanks for all of your help.

84 corvette blower motor dont blow hard how do i get it to blow harder it works ok just not that hard
Test the blower motor resistor to make sure its working properly. Also test the motor to make sure it can reach max speed.
Good Click Bait.
