Thank you so much , Ted lasso
I think I listen to this song atleast once a day. Last year I was left housebound with severe anxiety and I've been trying to build my life back up after several break downs, and I really do relate to the lyrics of this song. I really dont want to fucking live like this, but I sure as hell dont want to die. I am alive and I love living. 💞
Bonded with a girl couple of weeks over anxiety attacks, breakdowns and et.al She introduced me to Vampire Weekend few days ago. I think we have become good friends. She also loves living. I can see it in her face whenever I meet her in the morning. Peace and health to you too.
Very 80's Paul Simon style. Love it
MKECBS1 i thought it was just me but this totally has paul simon vibes
Me too!
Ezra Koenig has always had Paul Simon vibes - great lyric writing and ridiculously catchy music. First time I noticed that was when I first heard Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa and it reminded me of Paul Simon's Graceland album.
Actually, I would call it early 90s Brit pop influence (Blur, etc.)
@@mcktbfl exactly what I thought!!
Blood Orange with his chain above the earth symbolizes like ball and chain or the “world/earth hangs in our hands”, like there’s little nuggets of symbolism in this video. The pancake is shaped like the science symbol
He now has those dad vibes but he’s still such a beautiful baby.
The layers on this video are incredible. Forget the Paul Simon comparisons, there's big time Peter Gabriel vibes here.
Ryan Bogert More Grateful Dead.
@@aherrmie I was thinking more sledgehammer video. But I can see the dead shining through too
Perfect for my PlaguePlaylist. The instrumentation is beautiful.
71yo white guy here - I positively LOVE this music. Has elements of classical (piano, 3:04) and it's not the usual brain blender. Thanks.
@@thomas79marshall - Because old white guys probably are not generally interested in this music.
I only want to say, the snake is so cute
hehe maybe you'd like Euphoria by Jungkook (from the HBO Euphoria finale). It has elements of Debussy.
There's an interesting episode on Song Exploder explaining their creative process on this song. Fwiw
Dad, it's me, Ezekiel. Your son. You went to the supermarket about 10 years ago and mum and I were just wondering when you were going to return with the orange juice?
Also, we're out of eggs. So yeah. Eggs as well pls.
Having a kid with Rashida Jones would put hair on anybody's chest. Great song.
What
This should be top comment.
Hol up
what
I don’t get it..elaborate please
From Ted Lasso 😌😌❤ ❤
Heard this on Radio 1 and thought it was Fun for a moment then when I googled it found this! official new fan!
The best part of this video is Ezra flipping pancakes
Hell naw, it's Ezra eating the pancakes xD
Renee Harvey he’s truly a dad these days 🥰
Divya Himatsingka true that is still a great part 😂
S Jackson it’s so wholesome ❤️
Loving this song. The guitar lick. The whole song. Thank you, Vamp Wknd. So glad you're back.
Yes! As soon as I heard that picking in the beginning I was hooked. Otherworldly fingering.
at the first shot of them all together I was like: "where's rostam?" and then i realized: :(
This song and video bring me unspeakable joy.
Me too, Shannon!
heard this song by accident on some random playlist. so glad I found it!
why didn't anyone recommend it before?
"Additional Production by Rostam Batmanglij". AH HA!
I knew he had to be in there when I heard the classical piano breakdown
is this a music video or a cooking show?
_we'll never know_
BUT MEN I MISSED THESE VW VIDEOS
My favorite song in the world right now!!!
That's Danielle from Haim flippin dat hair! ❤
Nicole Zambrano how do u know? I didn’t see her face
@@AJ-dw9or you can kind of see her face towards the end, but vp also posted it on their instagram not too long after. I had a good feeling it was her tho because I heard they were good friends
Nicole Zambrano ah that’s so cool!
She should be in a hair commercial
Aziyah Javia no one else has hair like that
I was like "WHY IS JONAH HILL IN THIS I HAVE TO KNOW." Turns out he directed it. That's something I did not know. Also, amazing song. I have been excitedly awaiting this album since Modern Vampires of the City.
I love that their videos don't start with an ad. That gets my respect.
Such a cool song sounds, like something I would of listened 2 when I was young now I'm 48 cool
The most 90s video not made in the 90s
Get out of my brain!! Totally agree.
Bc Jonah Hill directed it
Agree
I thought the same thing! It has a grunge vibe too 🤘
Boom! You are in my brain!
The first time i heard this song was in a gas station, and i vowed to never forget the name..the other times i heard this song i immediately thought “harmony hall” and now its kinda my fav song
Man, this song is two years old. Time fucking flies.
"ezra koenig makes you breakfast for 5 minutes and 18 seconds while singing a lil ditty in the company of a really sleepy snake" asmr
I remember about to walk out onto my back deck while SNL was on in 2008. The band on screen playing M79 made me literally stop where I was and say “Whoa, wait a second.” Probably the best band I’ve heard since that moment.
These lyrics strikes a chord with where I am in life.
Watching this I get mixed feelings between a guy who's inducting me into an environmentalist cult, a guy who secretly wants to murder me, and a guy who's been high for his first time so he wants to cook cosmic pancakes with his pet snake. I like it...
The symbolism is derived from satanic mysticism.
@@JoryStultz1234 oh that's nice
@NÉHÉMIE BEN ISOCRATÈS Khabala.
@@JoryStultz1234 I was getting that vibe myself. That same imagery is in the majority of music videos these days.
@@TrinidadJamesWoods The rich want to push forward a certain narrative that supports their lifestyle: manipulatable Christianity and it's narrow-minded view of opposition.
I hope this song plays over the end credits of BoJack Horseman's series finale.
"I don't wanna live like this. But I don't wanna die"
This fits so well with the story theme.
I don't wanna bake like this, but I don't wanna fry.
hahahahaha ;)
Love it, You get the prize
love this😂
Amazing. You get a prize
Hahahahah
I’m digging this, like the Primal Scream 90s vibe
Charlatan's more like.
At first I was like, "Wow, this song sure sounds like 'Touch of Grey' by the Grateful Dead." but after like, a couple years and a bunch of listens, I just like it unironically.
I totally heard the Garcia-esque riff to
