Love this! The scriptures cited are beautiful and clear. The discussion helped me remember an awesome verse in 2 Nephi 4:32 that goes right along with this. “May the gates of hell be shut continually before me, because that my heart is broken and my spirit is contrite! O Lord, wilt thou not shut the gates of thy righteousness before me, that I may walk in the path of the low valley, that I may be strict in the plain road!”

This was so good and well explained. While serving my mission to the Dominican Republic, we were teaching a young family. We knew that they were feeling the spirit of truth when we taught. One day when we went to teach them the husband asked us not to return, that they had decided not to continue learning. I believe it was this same principle that they did not want to know more and thus be responsible for rejecting greater knowledge nor did they want to do whatever it took to repent! This was a great video. Thank you!

Todd and Randy thank you so much. I realized when you gave this presentation why I struggled so much in my calling to teach in relief society years ago because the leader over me was so upset if I moved past the mark in trying to open minds in my lessons. It’s bothered me for years thinking how I failed in my calling. Now I see that I just pushed the buttons of those who can’t allow themselves to grow. When Christ said I don’t throw pearls to swine I finally understood that there are so many who feel threatened to expand their learning. Todd you are a master teacher you have taught me so much on your shattering triangles and on sisters of liberty etc. I feel blessed to have found you. Randy your channel has been wonderful and I love your heart. I’m learning and having confirmation that I am not alone in searching for ways to spiritually survive.

I love this so much! Thank you Todd! I have been having this experience of someone very close to me making me feel I am wrong to seek the greater blessings and understanding. You confirmed to me that I'm on the right path and the Holy Ghost is teaching and leading me. I needed this confirmation to give me courage and commitment to continue.
I feel President Nelson is our modern day Moses and is trying to prepare us to meet the Savior; especially in his talk, "Overcome the World and Find Rest" knowing what rest really means.

I just recently learned that the sign of selling our tokens and signs for money, or mingling the philosophies of men with scriptures, is that we do not understand. This lines up with what you were suggesting Todd about what "asking for things they cannot understand" means. They asked for things but then immediately sold them. This is why they couldn't understand.
"When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side." (Matthew 13:19)
"And I said unto him: Believest thou the scriptures? And he said, Yea. And I said unto him: Then ye do not understand them; for they truly testify of Christ. Behold, I say unto you that none of the prophets have written, nor prophesied, save they have spoken concerning this Christ." (Jacob 7:10-11)

I agree there is no issues about seeking the mysteries. The problem is when we start to teach to others, mysteries in the church. The prophets don't do that, why we should? Mysteries and deep doctrines deviate people of what really matters to their salvation. Individual seek is ok. I have seen some people you guys had who claim to have received revelation to teach it, it is apostasy.
