  • In this third part of a four-part on A. Helwa's Secrets of Divine Love, we discuss chapter three of that book. Helwa explores the Qur'an, calling her readers "to look through it and toward the mysterious essence of God that animates everything in existence."

Blessed I found your channel. I love learning about different culture’s religions and your professionalism in presenting this subject makes me feel like I’m at an Ivy League university. Thank you. I look forward to more.

    In the second message:
Allaah / Ar-Raḥmaan (God) is unconditionally (should be conditionally) Merciful (bi-smi-LLaahi Ar-Raḥmaani Ar-Raḥiimi). If it were unconditional, we (plural) wouldn't have been born in this Ad-Dunyaa = the Lower / the Nearer (Life) or simply said this world / universe!

Samantar, thanks for this - a good and important clarification! This may be a case where this author, Helwa, is presenting a different interpretation of the content, though I’m not sure. I do have a sense that while she is drawing deeply on Islamic tradition, she’s also willing to propose new interpretations - and that this fact has led to there being some controversy about the book. But thank you again - I had hoped that commenters might offer clarifications of this kind.

      Thanks for your response!
I'm a Muslim person but I have no knowledge or interest in Islaamic tradition. And for that I'm a one who cannot offer clarification relating to the Islaamic tradition - neither do I know or have read any books of the author -, except my own overall basic essence of the Qur’aanic creation, in that the creation of Aadam in the Jannat relates to Al-Jaann (that have a common triliteral root J-N-N, of the verb Janna, that includes Janiin, Jannat, Jinn, Janaan, Junuun) who was created (Qur’aan 15:27, 55:15) before Aadam (as Al-Insaan "the Human". Qur’aan 15:26). Another way known Al-Jaann is Aš-Šayṭaan whose name is Ibliis.
So, linguistically speaking as Aadam was created from the earth Jannat, then Aadam’s make relates to Al-Jaann (Who was one of the Malaa’ikat) Qur’aan 15:29-31, by refusing to obey Allaah’s command, Al-Jaann or Aš-Šayṭaan withdrew himself, which leads him to whisper to Aadam, where Aadam obeys that leads to the descending (Aš-Šayṭaan, Aadam and his Zawj "his Pair / Couple" as enemies to one another Qur’aan 7:24) to earth, meaning Ad-Dunyaa "the birth of this world / universe, and hence this earth".
Hence, it's very complicated, and for that reason, in order to go back to the original Earth Jannat, we must learn ourselves by learning the the creation / evolution of the Qur’aan, so as to align ourselves to our Creator to be Nearer to Him!
Difficult world we exist (the world of plurality and diversity, and we are by make in this world the conflict itself, and is struggle to fight against within ourselves and among ourselves) and we humans (plurality, as opposed to Aadam the Singular "dual in one") are representative of it, hence a struggle for in this Ad-Dunyaa and Allaah also known in the Qur’aan as Ar-Raḥmaan (the Merciful) is Merciful to all except those who knowingly, willingly and insistently choose to fight him (inside and out) totally!
