  • CarPro ECH2O has been around for a long time. It is a versatile product and I continue to find it to be the best drying aid that does not interfere with a coating hydrophobic behavior as it does not leave durable protection behind.

    Underrated because it does take more skill/care to apply. But it does leave the car glossy and slicker than any other rinseless. And once you learn how to use it without streaking it’s no different than using the others.

    I've transitioned to rinseless as my only form of contact washing. Ech2O and Reload are really my only main products.
    Don't overcomplicate it folks, this product can be extremely easy to use.
    Tips: -presoak and hose rinse, or rinse off at the coin wash first if the vehicle is very dirty.
    -use warm water if you can for the rinseless solution
    -when rinseless washing use light to no pressure. if the dirt doesnt come off on the first wipe, dont scratch or scrub, just go over it again lightly with another side of your towel or sponge
    -dry lightly with no pressure, dont worry if it streaks
    -do a final wipe down with your drying aid to remove any streaks (homemade Elixer works great)
    -enjoy the easiest applied gloss in the market. I can finish an entire car in about 30 mins.

    Hey Mike, Not sure if I’d use this for rinseless washing. Forensic detailing did a test to see what would rinseless/waterless would marr paint the most. ONR won with the least amount, even though it was not slick. Ech2o scratched more but nothing crazy. Still think it’s better to use a product that was designed for rinseless.
    Would be nice to do scratch tests on all the new rinseless variants. N914, DIY, ONR, feynlab, etc.

    • @MikeGDetailing

      I don’t watch or subscribe to forensic. My thing about tests is it varies by individual. My experience has been positive as a rinseless with Ech2o.

    I really like ECH20! Two points. If I recall correctly Brian at Apex detail did a video years ago that shows it does have some durable protection. Also from Skys The Limit website: "Does Ech2o have protection in it?
    Ech2o does have some Sio2 (quartz) protection in it BUT its main focus is on safely cleaning and glossing a variety of surfaces."

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I don’t subscribe to Apex or watch. Protection depends on the concentration of Ech2o. For example at 1:20 it won’t be as durable as say 1:10. CarPro states it perfectly as it’s main focus.

      @MikeGDetailing  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thanks. Actually of the well known rinseless washes will work just fine on a non-coated paint. Products such as DIY, Adams Hoseless, P&S Absolute, Owners Pride Ecowash, McKee's N914, CarPro Ech20, Optimum No Rinse are all good options.

      @klasseact6663 @klasseact6663 i think 1:200 to 256. i did use it with very hard 400 tds water, so that probably didnt help. i also found it wasnt good to keep in a bucket too long as it turned moldy one time for me which has never happened using ONR.

    I used this a couple years ago to add some maintenance gloss to my Black Grand Cherokee after coating it with Kamikaze Myabi coat.
    Even at 1:25 it was leaving streaks in places where I had to spend extra time buffing it off. Happened too frequently that I stopped using it.
    Based on all the different feedback on this product it makes me wonder how much of an influence the current protection on the paint plays a role in experience.
    Regardless this was dumped down the drain. There are other products where you don’t have to worry about missing steaks as you go around the car.

    • @MikeGDetailing

      I have not had all the issues others have commented on. The Diamond Protech coatings are a good example of a coating that does. It play well with toppers and I had no issues with Ech2o as a topper.
      Twist loop towels are the best final wipe towel to wipe off any topper rather than something plush.
