Trying this fight with my group this weekend, thank you so much for the tank perspective! I didn't realize how much Diamondback abuse is in this fight, looks nuts.
All those early diamondbacks seem a lot more MP cost in the first phase. But it does seem to allow more uptime from the Healers. And your videos look so much smoother than mine. I wish I had more to work with than a laptop several years old.
Yeah it's definitely more MP intensive, but with some practice you should never wipe to a tank death, healers can focus on others more easily, and it's just more DPS overall to get you out of the dangerous phases. As for video, I'm still trying to figure out how to best optimize it.. but I think any changes don't really matter since the quality gets destroyed once I upload, anyway!
This is 3 months on, but I've been starting off with Dragon Force at 7 seconds, pull with Libra at 3 seconds, shift cast White wind, and then I can just bad breath / devour and not use diamond back until Flatten. It also means I can stack if I get the marker behind bahamut
For Phase 1 this guide is nice, but contains too much thinking. If you open with Bristle -> Off-Guard (only one person casts this obviously) -> Primal Spells (Supranakha, Shock Strike, Feather Rain, Glass Dance, Quasar) with a simultaneous Lucid Dreaming -> Song of Torment -> Mighty Guard -> Swiftcast + Diamondback you can get all kinds of damage off, be regenerating your MP during Diamondback and Waning Nocturne, and all 5 DPS can stack behind Bahamut and the healers can just stay away. Waning Nocturne will wear off before the end of the first Flatten and you'll have done enough damage to where he'll be at Gigaflare after the first Earth Shaker. No need to dance around panicking like a headless chicken. Also carry Blood Drain.
Thank you very much for this awesome guide. We will give it a go later tonight. Lets see how far we will come.

The group's success basically rests entirely on the tank's Diamondback button. :D
Bahamut is a huge jerk. It felt like every run with him was one Flatten away from a total party wipe.
One missed Diamondback usually is a wipe! It's rough.
Still pugging this ahah! Thank you foe guide! Every bit helps!
