I just downloaded this yesterday, these videos were the final straw to have me decide! Also, for anyone trying to shore up their FPS with DLSS, I've found that, for 1440p, 1600 x 900 seems to be as far as you can push it without text getting blurry. The fringes of your screen can get blurry, but I've found that the places you actually look at look good.
I've not had any issues with blurred edges on my 5120x1440p monitor. I know some people tweak their reshade when it happens tho to chop the edges off with a border
@@RelentlessZenOh I was referring to 2560 by 1440, using 1600 by 900 would not nearly be enough lol. And the blurriness I'm referring to comes from the predictive software just not having enough information to work with. AI notoriously sucks at reproducing pictures of words. Also, since I played this layout more, I've found that the blurriness is rarer than I initially thought. The only time I get it anymore is for the first few seconds after a loading screen, since DLSS has all new information at that point.
Be carefull with the DLSS mod, it requires authentication and it dosen't work all the time and it'll make your game look like crap whe it's not working, there is also talk about him adding a checking gateway which will mean you will have to be subscribed to his patreon for as long as you want to use the mod.
Just wanted to pop into the comments to tell you I love these videos so much! I'm playing a necromancer build inspired by your second nolvus vid and it's a lot of fun. I can tell all the editing, production work, and care you put into these videos. Thanks for all the work to share this with your community!
Just pausing the video on the custom sword mod before I continue, because DAMN that custom varient of it is absolutely gorgeous. It would fit amazingly with a paladin of Stendarr or spellsword character, or maybe an Azura or Meridia worshipper even. I've watched the other two videos and had downloaded the Nolvus modpack a few days ago already, so this new upload is just further cementing the fact that this modpack really is something else entirely for me haha Either way, wonderful content, and the easily digestable informative format for these types of videos is very easy to get through, and very enjoyable at the same time.
I have an extensive spreadsheet where I've tried pretty much all existing modlists, and I have to say that Nolvus is the clear winner. Although that doesn't mean it doesn't have its flaws, I'm not sure if they would fall within the scope of V6, but I would really love it if Vektor touched the economy and overall balance a bit. Currently, whatever build you play, things spiral out of control very easily, and you become very strong very early in the game. Alternate leveling doesn't really mesh well with some buffs that give faster skill progression, and it creates a weird dynamic early on where you level up to level 10 just by walking around. It's my personal gripe, but I think after almost 15 years of Skyrim, the power fantasy of becoming super strong and one-shotting stuff kinda got boring. I need a bit of a challenge. Nonetheless, an amazing modlist, both visually and gameplay-wise, so thank you, Vektor, and thank you, Relentless Zen, for introducing me to Nolvus.
Yeah I do think the same issue is present no matter what modlist ive tried, like Wildlander for example, fantastic Requiem modlist, but you can find ways of exploiting mechanics to become level 100 in a few hours. a level of self control will always be needed in order maintain some sort of balance. But I'd agree Nolvus is a little too easy if you lean into some builds. Hardcore modes stagger definitely makes things much more dangerous though. overall tho I think Enchantments and alchemy break the difficulty factor in any mod list!
Wait, you can use the learning rate buffs with alternate leveling? How? I thought they became completely useless because of static leveling. P.S. I actually like the walking-to-lv-10 thing. Gives that feeling of training up before adventuring.

I was so used to playing a certain way that it’s like I have to start back completely fresh in my skill set and I’m not trying to use things that make me cheat, for once lol. So glad I finally upgraded my pc.
Hi Zen, Thank you so much for this guide. I have a question on how do you uncap fps for puredark's patreon version? I followed your instruction on how to install puredark's patreon dlss, but my frame is getting capped at 30 fps, before with the free version that came with nolvus i was at around 45 to 53ish. Thanks!
if you're looking at the ENB FPS counter that won't show an accurate FPS as its halved. there is a setting in ENB to unlimit the FPS and you then need to use a third party FPS counter software , i use FPS monitor for mine
You did not mention anything about the visual quality when using the DLSS mod, kind of a huge oversight considering thats really the only appeal over other settings or downscaling.
The quality depends on the setting you choose and your resolution. Wasnt an oversight at all. There's clear instructions in PureDarks files. I'm reviewing a modlist not deep diving into tutorials, that's why I kept it as brief as possible. The quality settings are subjective to the user.
@@RelentlessZen You literally mentioned the performance impact and not the visual, wasn't asking for a deep dive but i dont know what else you would call not mentioning the visual impact of an upscaler other then an "Oversight" a simple "it looks great and i cant tell the difference" would suffice, unless the opposite were true of course. Reading my comment above again it does come off a bit rude but that was not my intent, just pointing out critically important information was missing from your video where you spent 30+ seconds talking about frame rate not once mentioning the visual quality or if it was on par with other native DLSS or FSR titles. Anyway your videos are very good thanks.
@Justathought81 you're not causing bother or offence I simply don't know what you expect, DLSS and FSR have different scaling methods. And what works for me visually isnt the same as what works for you. Simply because of different resolutions, monitors, GPUs etc.. but the video is literally 2k the compression doesn't make the crystal clear picture any less crystal clear when it comes to the upscalers. If I did notice a huge difference I would mention it of course.
found this video after months and the effort you put in is amazing!!!! just subbed :) Just wondering; whats the combat moveset youre using for the bound sword in the "spellblade jedi" part of the video, as well as the actual movement of your character whilst wielding the sword? thanks so much in advanced!
So ever since downloading the upscaler, I haven't been able to see any other overlays such as steam when I Shift + Tab and my SteelSeries can't even capture clips anymore (I'm assuming that's because the overlay is disabled And whenever I Shift Tab for steam, my games completely stops (apart from the sound) as if the Steam HUD came up, but it doesnt
im having the same problem. i used RTSS from msi afterburner and it all worked fine untill i installed pure darks dlss and modified reshader. i have tried so many things to make the on screen display work but for some reason i havent been able to fix it yet
Really cool video, I like your build ideas. Im pretty new to nolvus and there are a lot of things I still need to discover, so this helps a lot. Btw, what song is that you play at the end of the video, sounds really nice.
I’m surprised you still upload my friend, if it’s not a touchy subject what happened to the warframe content. Keep up the good work and have a good day 👍
Warframes great and all but It's just boring after playing for so many years. I could make warframe vids and get 10 to 20k views on a video. Or I could make content I enjoy making and 1 million views on a video.
@@RelentlessZen Ah I know that feeling lad, well I’m glad your doing something you prefer and not sticking to the “algorithm” of it. I respect that. I do keep looking back at your old videos such as the Ash build you made and it always makes me want to try and improve that build seeing as its 3 years old. Take care and keep doing you mate 👋
ok yeah, you already got me with the first vid. this is just an overkill. a very welcomed overkill that hyped me up a decent amount tho. guess i'll sink into skyrim (if you can still call that skyrim) for... eternity
Still waiting for v6... I got my own self-selected 1600 mods mod list for Skyrim that I put countless hours in, but I will put that on hold for a Nolvus v6 playthrough... Isn't v6 supposed to be released any day now? :D
Curious, with how many mods are added by Nolvus, what's the stability like? SkyrimSE can be problematic at the best of times so i'd like to ask how often you've run into crashes
I don't crash unless I've done something to bloat my save, dying and reloading a save can cause issues, loading different characters without closing the game down etc.. it's the scripts that break causing issues. I'd I play with things in mind. Zero crashes
@@RelentlessZen Do you happen to have or know of a list anywhere to prevent "bloating a save?" I've quit like three different 100+ hour games of Skyrim because the save files bricked even though the modlist felt insanely stable up to that point.
@@KingJerbear it's just bad saving habits that cause this. its not the modlist itself , any modlist using SKSE has the potential to bloat. its unavoidable. Don't make a new game without closing the game down first. Don't save during combat Don't use quicksaves Don't save to often (turn autosave off) Don't constantly make new saves Don't reload saves after dying without closing the game down Some of these can seem a little extreme but modlists with complex scripts can have issues. But if you want a safer cleaner game then putting things like this into practise is important Imagine a script running, then telling it to stop running and go back several pages of code earlier and start running again.
@@emperorinfinite Yeah people don't understand that this isn't a AAA modern game but a 13 year old game been pushed far past its limits with complex third party code!
Love the video and all the playthroughs - Could watch you make build guides all day, Currently trying out the Death knight playthrough. Is it only the flame monarch that summons skeletons after as the atronachs dont seem to be doing it. Just want abit of clarification incase its actually a hidden spell and was just miss spoken.
Great video as always. One question for Untarnished UI - did you deactivated nordic ui with all patches and just installed in its place Untarnished UI?
I actually just overwrite them, but they're safe to remove, seen as Dear Diary (requirement for Untarnished) covers all the things Nordic changes, minus health bars
it's still got some work to be done before I feel its ready, wasn't sure if people would want it so I haven't dove back into testing. thanks for letting me know, think thats +2 to peeps wanting to try it now.
With some of the additions do you have to tweak any of the existing mod list such removing iequip to use wheeler. If so How do you go about replacing the current UI with the one youre using
i absolutly love your videos. brought me back to skyrim recently. But i dont get where these icons beneath your Health bars are from. Can someone help me? i think it looks nice and want to use it to.
So do i have to keep paying 5$ monthly to puredark for the dlss fsr to keep using it or do i just buy the patreon once, download the latest version and i can keep using it even after that 1 month passes? I'm planning to buy an rx 6700 or rx 6700 xt and i'm definitely downloading this mod pack, so i'm just researching things i'll need for it.
As far as I know aslong as you have the mod authenticated after install, it will remain so unless you reinstall after not been subbed to PureDarks patreon
@@RelentlessZen for sure, but i just wish it was a 1 time deal and i'd gladly pay 5$ for that. I mean the real problem here is that the people that need more fps are mostly people with low or mid tier pc's.. aka people that don't really have enough money for upgrades. But sadly PureDark doesn't really have a choice here because if its a 1 time deal, people will just pirate it and he'd end up loosing in that situation.
Oh trust me the original render he did looked great, it was basically unusable to port in though lost all the detail, things looked misaligned. It was a cool design but a bad skyrim mod
@@RelentlessZen As you know, I bought my 4070 after your suggestion. Been treating me well, but I'm afraid the 12GB of Vram may not be enough for some future titles/mods. You're making me wanna try this game now. lol
I have been using nolvus for quite some time now and I was wondering how to add another mods that are not included in the mod list, I tried simply download them, but it didn't apear in mo2 nolvus.
you drag the archive (the mod download) into the right side of MO2 and you right click it and install it. Than in the left side (where ALL the mods are) you make sure the check mark is checked.
Can you dive into how to get the HUD to look like that? Truehud, MoreHud, Untarnished, SkyHud....I have no idea what to use after having Nolvus installed!
@@PeterBerkobien Good question! it's something I'd forgotten wasn't altered with TrueHUD after releasing the vid, in the MCM is two Widget mods that are configurable, its those and A Matter of Time that you'd need to alter. just have a play around with them until your happy , thats what I did!
When you are in game pressing the Del button will automatically check if the mod is authentic by opening a Google page verifying so. When you return to game it will have open a small in game window with some tweaks and information
Ordinator is a perk overhaul. Wildcat is a combat stat overhaul they're not the same. Nolvus uses several combat overhauls. Ultimate combat Sekiro Poise Precision From the top of my head these are what I remember, probably more.
@andycampbell3929 it has terrible input lag and artifacts in comparison to PureDarks. It's nice for those who don't want to add things manually to the modlist. A solid alternative but it's not as good in terms of quality. Framegen from Puredarks is much smoother.
Nolvus is amazing, I downloaded all your additional mods but for whatever reason skyrim souls re wont load and doesn't work. I tried tons of different load orders, nothing. Did you do anything special to make it work?

Man I just downloaded this on my new PC, change the keybinds to my liking and I love and hate this 😂😂😂😂! I love it because it breathes new life into Skyrim for me. Things look so different and I feel as if I’m playing an entirely different game. I hate it because I feel like an addict relapsing 😆. Man this thing is good. I’m also getting my butt WHOOPED on hardcore, and I love it. I was so used to playing a certain way that it’s like I have to start back completely fresh in my skill set and I’m not trying to use things that make me cheat, for once lol. So glad I finally upgraded my pc.
Hell yeah! Welcome to the party! I'm gonna be covering another modlist called LoreRim that's a REAL challenge! Trailer I made is already out
Hi Zen, Thank you so much for this guide.
@@RelentlessZen Ah thanks! that explain a lot, i am going to try nvedia's fps counter to see if it show the actual fps. Thanks again!
I was able to confirm with nvidia overlay that it is currently at 60 fps
You did not mention anything about the visual quality when using the DLSS mod, kind of a huge oversight considering thats really the only appeal over other settings or downscaling.
The quality depends on the setting you choose and your resolution. Wasnt an oversight at all. There's clear instructions in PureDarks files. I'm reviewing a modlist not deep diving into tutorials, that's why I kept it as brief as possible. The quality settings are subjective to the user.
@@RelentlessZen You literally mentioned the performance impact and not the visual, wasn't asking for a deep dive but
i dont know what else you would call not mentioning the visual impact of an upscaler other then an "Oversight" a simple "it looks great and i cant tell the difference" would suffice, unless the opposite were true of course.
@@Justathought81 the visual is literally shown on screen....
@@RelentlessZen lol bro, you tube compression will not eek that out, anyway didn’t mean to cause a bother, keep up the great work.
Would it be too much to ask for a Nolvus mod configuration guide. Loving it so far, but it is a little overwhelming when trying to fine tune.
What part are you struggling with? Most things are subjective such as keybind setups.
@@RelentlessZen maybe going over which mods have keybinds attached to them? There are so many its hard to figure out where to start.
@@electricowl3725 that's already included in the Nolvus Dashboard. there's a Keybind chart button.
Thank you for this great Videos. My question, does Nolvus work with a controller?
found this video after months and the effort you put in is amazing!!!! just subbed :)
Just wondering; whats the combat moveset youre using for the bound sword in the "spellblade jedi" part of the video, as well as the actual movement of your character whilst wielding the sword? thanks so much in advanced!
So ever since downloading the upscaler, I haven't been able to see any other overlays such as steam when I Shift + Tab and my SteelSeries can't even capture clips anymore (I'm assuming that's because the overlay is disabled
And whenever I Shift Tab for steam, my games completely stops (apart from the sound) as if the Steam HUD came up, but it doesnt
Did you make sure to add the modified reshade dll to the Nolvus stock game folder?
im having the same problem.
i used RTSS from msi afterburner and it all worked fine untill i installed pure darks dlss and modified reshader.
i have tried so many things to make the on screen display work but for some reason i havent been able to fix it yet
Could you share your mod order and settings? please! Your videos are amazing!
Really cool video, I like your build ideas. Im pretty new to nolvus and there are a lot of things I still need to discover, so this helps a lot.
Btw, what song is that you play at the end of the video, sounds really nice.
Is the backpack for the ronin build included in the kitsune armor mod or is that something separate?
@networkgaming3505 it's from the armors of velothi pack
Would love this for Skyrim VR
LOVE your videos - Excited to use the UI mod's you suggest - Please excuse my naivity - Where / what order should I place them in the list?
I can't really help ya from a YT comment section, you're best off hitting up the customised help channel in the Nolvus discord
How do you hide your helmet or backpack? I struggle to do so :(
Could I know what’s the plug-in of the mcm to provide the search function? Thanks a lot.
How do you unlock the custom skills so fast? I really want to skip levels in the vampirism skill tree.
I know a johnskyrim sword when I see one
He defo did me a solid on this sword, quality like no other.
@@RelentlessZen I downloaded it as soon as I saw it on nexus
Can we have a full build guide on the pyromancer please? Trying to recreate it myself
ok yeah, you already got me with the first vid. this is just an overkill. a very welcomed overkill that hyped me up a decent amount tho. guess i'll sink into skyrim (if you can still call that skyrim) for... eternity
Is this playable without DLSS? Because Puredark and his DRM nonsense can go gargle a nut tbh.
Answer. Even after pirating the DLSS mod it is a 44fpos average ona 4080. Booty cheeks would not recommend.
Still waiting for v6... I got my own self-selected 1600 mods mod list for Skyrim that I put countless hours in, but I will put that on hold for a Nolvus v6 playthrough... Isn't v6 supposed to be released any day now? :D
V6 still got a lot of work to do last I checked with the lead devs. We can dream tho!
@@RelentlessZen Oh well, that doesn't sound promissing... But thanks for the info! :D
@@MichaeltheORIGINAL1 you never know, maybe Vektor's gone Super saiyan and drops it soon!
Great videos, I've been enjoying this series. Are you recording/playing with fantasy mode on or off?
Thank you! I am on fantasy mode, it only adds a flashy 2h sword animation in blue stance and magic jumping.
Thanks for the quick reply!
Very good work ! Is it possible to have the character preset in the opening showcase mod of bard gameplay please at 9:05 thx !
Don't save during combat
Don't use quicksaves
Don't save to often (turn autosave off)
Don't constantly make new saves
Don't reload saves after dying without closing the game down
Some of these can seem a little extreme but modlists with complex scripts can have issues. But if you want a safer cleaner game then putting things like this into practise is important
Imagine a script running, then telling it to stop running and go back several pages of code earlier and start running again.
@@RelentlessZen this needs to be published as a must read in the modding community and we should read it every time we launch the game lol
It's specific to the monarchs!
@@RelentlessZen perfect thank you
Wow where the backpack from ronin is from ? There's only the armor on the patreon right ?
The backpack is from armors of Velothi 1 or 2 it's already included in nolvus
@@RelentlessZen Thanks a lot ! May I ask you for the jedi robe ?
So cool. Whats the jedi robe you use ?
Great video as always. One question for Untarnished UI - did you deactivated nordic ui with all patches and just installed in its place Untarnished UI?
I actually just overwrite them, but they're safe to remove, seen as Dear Diary (requirement for Untarnished) covers all the things Nordic changes, minus health bars
@@RelentlessZen thanks for the reply and keep up the great work!
Would love to see that smooth cam preset, looks really nice
it's still got some work to be done before I feel its ready, wasn't sure if people would want it so I haven't dove back into testing. thanks for letting me know, think thats +2 to peeps wanting to try it now.
@@RelentlessZen Any updates on this?
What armor r u wearing in the “Closer Look” section?
With some of the additions do you have to tweak any of the existing mod list such removing iequip to use wheeler.
If so How do you go about replacing the current UI with the one youre using
No, I use it with iequip. Just add the mod and it's requirements.
Hi there, awesome video👍 i wanted to ask, did you do something extra at the MCM to get the search bar?
No , it should be there by default, although I use Untarnished Ui so maybe it's added with that
@@RelentlessZenI checked it and it is as you say. It is a extra addon from DDDM.
Scrolled through a bunch of comments but didn't see it asked. What is the name of the backpack the ronin is wearing?
i absolutly love your videos. brought me back to skyrim recently. But i dont get where these icons beneath your Health bars are from. Can someone help me? i think it looks nice and want to use it to.
They're part of the Widget mods in mcm
Allright thank you for the quick Response.
Great video, modpack totally worth playing . Btw, what's the name of the armor in the thief gameplay ?
That's an armor from Fuse00 patreon, I think it's called Shadow armor
where did you get that mod that lets you filter through the MCM?
So do i have to keep paying 5$ monthly to puredark for the dlss fsr to keep using it or do i just buy the patreon once, download the latest version and i can keep using it even after that 1 month passes? I'm planning to buy an rx 6700 or rx 6700 xt and i'm definitely downloading this mod pack, so i'm just researching things i'll need for it.
As far as I know aslong as you have the mod authenticated after install, it will remain so unless you reinstall after not been subbed to PureDarks patreon
Well that sucks, modding is all about uninstalling and reinstalling mods xD, anyways, thanks for answering.
@@Reilath doubling my FPS is more than worth the cost to me!
@@Reilath Well again you don't need to constantly buy it if you just keep it installed in your modlist.
What are the steps for adding a hair mod to nolvus? I don't want to mess anything up.

Dang man you didn’t have to bully the first artist like that 😭😭 that katana looked clean to me 😔

What bound sword mod is that? That sword is much better looking than the standard one.
here ya go! www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/92118
Are the Vulcano spells already in the mod list or do I have download it myself?
they're included
Can you dive into how to get the HUD to look like that?
Truehud, MoreHud, Untarnished, SkyHud....I have no idea what to use after having Nolvus installed!
It's just untarnished with the truehud settings I show in this video.
Then I hide:
A matter of time and iequip
@@RelentlessZen Would I then disable Skyhud? Is that still needed?
@PeterBerkobien no just overwrite Nordic Ui and make sure you have the requirements from Untarnished mod page
@@RelentlessZen Perfect, looks great! Last question (you rock btw), how did you get the moreHud stats underneath the health/stamina/magic bars?
@@PeterBerkobien Good question! it's something I'd forgotten wasn't altered with TrueHUD after releasing the vid, in the MCM is two Widget mods that are configurable, its those and A Matter of Time that you'd need to alter. just have a play around with them until your happy , thats what I did!
How do I know if the DLSS is working? You mentioned something about needing to authentication.
When you are in game pressing the Del button will automatically check if the mod is authentic by opening a Google page verifying so. When you return to game it will have open a small in game window with some tweaks and information
What is the menu re texture like the one in the mod configuration menu?
what cloak is being used in the jedi gameplay section?
Rogue Wizard
@@RelentlessZen is that from somewhere other than nexus?
@@RelentlessZen cuz i cant find
So what combat system does this mod use? Is it the fast kill wildcat or the slow and tedious ordinator?
Ordinator is a perk overhaul.
Wildcat is a combat stat overhaul
they're not the same.
Nolvus uses several combat overhauls.
Ultimate combat
Sekiro
Poise
Precision
From the top of my head these are what I remember, probably more.

The download time for this modpack is insane if you don't have acces to nexus premium
well Nexus premium is listed as a requirement, of course it's not going to be effective without it
I use Lossless Scaling. The frame gen takes my 60 to 240fps and the image gets so smooth. It’s fairly cheap and on steam
Sounds to me like you downloaded the incorrect version of the mod.
