A firearm was a person's most important tool for self defense back in the pioneer era and a firearm remains a person's most important self defense tool today. Without a gun, you are at the mercy of any and all people intent on robbing you or doing harm to you and your family.
It waa not only self defense, but to not starve as well!!
At the mercy?, I've had people pull guns on me and I've promptly taken them to the surprise of the people with me, even the cops who showed up laughed at the people while telling me I'm crazy. I've done this three times in my life, also within 26 feet a knife is more deadly then a gun.

I have to call bs on that one. The argument is that a person can cross 26 feet and stab you before you can draw a gun, however stabbings from knives aren't necessarily fatal. Hurts, yes, but it won't kill you, and when that person stabs you with a knife, guess what? His weapon is now lodged in you, you can grab his knife hand preventing him from pulling it back out and preventing him from running off while you put hot lead into his cranium at point blank range.

Im a police officer and I had a call early this morning where the homeowners thought someone was in their home while they were upstairs .. thankfully nobody was.. even with me going 80mph plus down the road it still took about 4 minutes for me to get there.. I kind of hinted that they should get a gun for home protection because even a fast response like that would be an eternity if you were actually facing real danger.. the best part is that they were definitely lefties and me as a black cop telling them that kinda put a strange look on their faces .. when it come to protecting you and your family it doesn’t matter your color, religion,party.. etc because when evil comes to do you harm you’re gonna wanna put a stop to it immediately!.. keep fighting the fight brother .. the 2A will prevail!!!

IF the dog has been trained at all... That is a misconception that most people have regarding getting a dog for security purposes. Yes, there are breeds who are naturally more protective, but it's been shown dogs don't automatically protect you/your home. (And any trainer worth their salt will tell you the same.)
A well trained protection dog is very expensive and well worth the money,
But it really takes a grown up to maintain and care for the dog correctly.
I wouldn’t trust that grifter to correctly care for a goldfish,
much less a highly trained working protection dog.

I live in NY outside of the city and just got my full carry. That process was about 6-8 months. It’s the fact I need to also get a judge to sign off on EVERY hand gun I want to buy and own … Which takes another 2-4 months to get approved. And after 5 hand guns, they need to search my house, understand my alarm system, ways of exit/access and when I’m home/not home. That’s the part I don’t get.
That is nuts!!! I'm shocked you were even able to get a permit at all. Here in neighboring Pennsylvania I can get a handgun in under an hour. Permit to carry in 30 minutes essentially.

10 years ago, my wife was offered a puppy in a Target parking lot. My wife gave the girl $10, and that dog grew up to be a beautiful German Shepard/ border collie mix! Great guard dog, great attitude, very smart. Ten bucks!

I currently have a 12 weeks old Rhodesian Ridgeback at my house. we play together all the time.
And it's hard to be strict when they look at you with such puppy eyes.😭

Well said. My 2yr old cattle dog takes me and my gf to train and to take to the park every day. Dogs take work and I guarentee you he didn't consider that. I love my dog and I hate bad dog owners more than anything.

New pet owners who complain about not realizing how much “energy” a new dog may have probably wouldn’t make them responsible gun owners either. Responsible gun ownership requires at least some semblance of education and training on the part of the gun owner. This story is also another great example of socialists spending “other peoples” money, and a further example of how irresponsible they are at accounting for it.

50 years ago my business-owner father-in-law told me "the biggest thing missing in most job applicants is common sense. His second aggravating observation was that applicants want a "position" and never used the term "job". They don't want to work.
What’s hilarious is that mastiffs don’t have much energy compared to many other breeds. I have a cane corso mix (which is arguably the highest energy mastiff type dog) and she barely requires any exercise at all. She’s a fantastic apartment dog. She requires very little from me, just attention and a couple short walks per week. We usually just hit the dog park for half an hour or so and she’s done for a few days. They’re super lazy except when defending their territory. This guy shouldn’t own a dog or a gun.
Sadly, those on the left tend to be horrible at understanding the economy. Even a mathematician can misunderstand how it works, if they're a leftist. They seem to think that the government can just print more money, forgetting or more likely never having known, that doing so devalues our money and is one of the direct ways that the government causes inflation. Everything they push for only makes us worse off, and then their puppeteers lie to them about how it all works.

$40,000 for a guard dog? I walked into a store a mile from my house a few weeks ago with $550 and walked out ~1 hour later with a glock and some hollow points. Man, it's nice living where people like freedom.

I like it when people that were against guns decide they need one.
They go out to buy one and get angry when they run into road blocks like background checks and waiting periods.
They have listened to all the antigun groups propaganda about how easy it is to get a gun. Then when faced with the reality of buying a gun they feel discriminated against.
I read an article last year about a gun dealer at a gun show that was accused of racism for not allowing a lady to buy a gun.
She didn't want to do the background check. And didn't think she had to at a gun show.
Then after she finally did the background check was upset she was going to have to wait 10 days before she could have the gun.
She even tried to bribe the dealer to waive all the legal stuff so she could have it now.
She learned that all the propaganda from the leftist gun grabbers was totally false.
Yeah a great way to show them that the leftist media narrative is lies is to have them come with you to a gun shop and watch people buy guns. Then they see they are being lied to and *hopefully* stop supporting gun control measures.

In the aftermath of the 1992 LA riots, people swarmed local gunstores to buy a gun, specifying outlandish details "a pistol grip 18 1/2" double barrel trap shotgun" before becoming outraged that they had to wait 14 business days,not including weekends & holidays before they could pick it up to take it home.
A friend out there who is in the gun business said that he & his staff laughed a lot during sales like that.

My mother was raised by her Jewish grandparents, but for many reasons decided not to adhere to the kosher diet when she left and moved several states away. When her grandfather would come to visit, she would prepare a kosher dinner for him. After several years of this, he came for another visit. She served him roast pork and didn’t realize it until he’d eaten part of it! She immediately apologized and grabbed his plate to get him something else. He said, “wow! This is pretty good. I’ll keep my plate, thank you.” 😂

As someone who breeds Belgian Malinois for protection work, I have to laugh my ass off at people buying dogs based on emotion instead of doing research, and then having to return the dog because they can't handle it. That breeder very likely had a clause in their contract where they get to keep most, if not all, of the $40,000 paid for the dog. So they'll resell the dog to someone who can handle it, and basically get paid twice.
