Excellent video. I was searching for ages on instructions for Kraft Blade. Silhouette make it look so easy in their videos and it really isn't at first! Thank you so much!
Thanks! I am glad that you liked! It can look really easy with particular material, that the cut settings have been figured out for, & has been practiced on!!
Thanks for "calling like you see it". Planning on using it with thin styrene, chip board, possibly basswood for model railroading projects. This was a clearer picture of what to do. Thanks. Happy New Year

If they are going to color code it, they should have put the colors on the inner column. So as you adjust, the exposed color indicates which level you're at. Thank you for this!
Thank you for explaining what the numbers do. I read a bunch of stuff and couldn't find that information. Maybe it was self-explanatory to most people, but not for me! Again, thanks for helping me not break my sillhouette.
Thank you for showing us how to adjust that kraft blade. Maybe silhouette thinks we are all scientific geniuses but I'm not one of them. Some instructions on the packaging would be mighty helpful.
Have you tried cutting Chipboard? When I select Chipboard as the material the system responds "No Cameo4 Tool 2- compatible Cut action was found for this material".
I haven’t had good luck with the chipboard I got off amazon, it’s just to thick & it turns the blade while trying to cut. You can set your own setting up and that’s probably what you would need to do. There are so many types of chipboard out there, a one size fits all setting isn’t going to work.
This was very very helpful, thank you. Was wondering about all the numbers and how they work. I got two of these with my cameo 4 and there really isn’t much said about them. Haven’t opened the package yet. Now on to figure out what the roller blade is.
I'm glad it helped! The Roller Blade is a rotary blade, it cuts fabric & does a very good job with it! You can check out my video here with it - th-cam.com/video/u0wy8tgPLF0/w-d-xo.html
@@MissMaryEmbroidery Thank you for your reply. I will check it out. Been using cameos for a few years but just bought this Four a couple months ago then installed business addition software so I could warp graphics and text.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is the first video I've found where someone walks you through manually adjusting the Kraft Blade. That 3-ring number gauge isn't exactly intuitive in terms of which number the blade is currently adjusted to. I'm new to the Cameo 4, and I was genuinely surprised how difficult working with the Kraft Blade was after the relative ease of the Autoblade. Also surprised that Silhouette itself had NONE of this information online.
I am so glad that it helped!! I am really hoping silhouette is going to make more tools & products for carriage 2! But yeah, that Kraft blade is a bit of a difficult diva to deal with it!!!
I have a question. When I hit kraft cut so that I can cut items, it shows splinter pieces all around the design that are not even connected to the design
The Marks outside of the design could be showing where the Kraft Blade will be turning, the blade doesn't always face the correct way, so it needs to turn around. It could be in connected loops like this design or it could be outside of the design, just depend on how it is cutting.
Maybe…probably not cleanly. This blade struggles to make turns. The best it could probably do would be to score the cardboard & you to cut it by hand afterwards.
Silhouette studio crashes every time I want to use a blade in carriage 2. For the craft blade, if i click on Kraft Cut or Kraft Cut Edge, the software closes. Any experience with that?
So it’s not unusual for silhouette software to crash. You can try updating the software, I do know there were some buggy versions when the cameo 4 first came out. I put the link below to silhouette’s trouble shooting page, the last step of turning off Antialiasing really stopped my software from crashing. If that doesn’t work, you can contact silhouette & see what they suggest. www.silhouetteamerica.com/printer-friendly/faq/silhouette-studio-crashing-or-freezing-after-startup

Hi, I just bought 3mm kraft blade to cut 2mm rubber sheet and the cut is never clean. I just wonder if there are deep cut blade 3mm out there that can be installed im tool 1.
I don't think there is a 3 mm blade for blade 1. You can put in the deep cut blade in tool 1 and the 2 mm Kraft Blade. I would try the deep cut blade in tool 1 and see if that helps you get a better cut!
@@MissMaryEmbroidery thanks Mary for your fast response, I've tried the deep cut blade in tool 1 as well to cut 1mm rubber sheet. The result is fantastic. When I put the 2 mm rubber sheet then cut with it, the sheet cannot be clean cut. The cut leaves (around) 0,2 mm on the bottom of the materials, so I needs to remove the cut object manually using pen cutter. The reason I bought Kraft cut, It will work as deep cut blade to cut the materials. My mistake I guess. I can't get my second cartridge to calibrate correctly so it's cutting really crazy. Any tips on how to get this fixed? The first cartridge/tool cuts perfect.
Is the blade getting caught up on what you are trying to cut? It's really common with the harder to cut materials for the blade/force to cause the cutting to get off because it gets caught up in the material.
I have a question...when your changing the number on the blade, do you also change the number on the computer also? So say you have to go up on blade, do you make number match the number you use on blade?
For the Kraft Blade it technically doesn't matter if you change it in the software because you have to manually adjust the blade--the same would go for the ratchet blade, deep cut blade, & premium blade. For the Auto-Blades you would want to make sure that it is changed in the software since the software tells the blade where to adjust too. You would also want to save it in the software if you are wanting to set up a custom setting, so that you know where to set it in the future. Sorry that was a wordy answer, hope it made sense!!
@Jennifer Skaggs Only the Auto Blade in carriage 1 is auto adjustable. Every other blade needs to be manually adjusted. The blade used in this video is the specialty kraft blade used only in the second carriage.
Honestly it depends on the chipboard, if it's really thin you can cut it with the a regular ratchet/auto/1mm blade -- but if it's thick I have never had good luck getting it to cut.

Anyone having solution to this?
I don't have a solution for you but I did run into the same problem trying to cut real chipboard. You would probably have better luck with thinner foam, but that probably doesn't help a whole lot!!
