  • Hello beautiful peeps! Talking about ‘GTD’ & “7 Habits of Highly Effective People” book comparison and the controversial topic of “Hauls” and the ever growing disdain for overconsumption in SocialMedia. My thoughts on being Christian in the midst of struggles to be relevant in today’s demands for new & pretty things while remembering what my goals are.
Let me know what you think about “Pretty Planning/Journaling”. How do you manage to stay in control of your finances while being immersed in the Stationary Community? I’d love to read & bounce back ideas.

I agree. I came back home from Japan and I realized how much stuff I had sitting back home all that time, and I’ve been living in Japan without all that stuff for over 2 years. It made me realize that I was holding onto things that I don’t need, and I can live more simply and be happy.
Also, I collected so much stationery that I don’t need. So I want to refrain from buying any more and use what I have.
    Great video!

Glad you enjoyed the VID. It's true that most of the things we can live w/out, we hold onto and sometimes it takes a lot of self reflection to let things go. Glad you came to that realization; learning early is a blessing. I hope your goal of 'using instead of accumulating' will be successful. I love when I finish a roll of washi-tape or a booklet of stickers b'coz it means money was not wasted: the items were used....there was purpose. Thanks for sharing your experience. TFW. 🥰

I watched maybe the same videos you are referring to. To be completely honest I felt bad for the women who may watch the video who do the pretty planning and choose to always have their nails manicured.
I feel we always have to protect ourselves. I don’t watch the news because it affects me negatively. I don’t watch sticker hauls because I don’t want to purchase a subscription to stickers for my planners. It’s just something I personally don’t want to spend my money on, but thats me. I spend money on things others would never spend so much $ on. When people have conversations I do not want to take part of I find something else to do (those who know me realize and just leave me to go do my own thing lol). Not that the conversation is bad, I just don’t want to partake. All that to say, it really is our responsibility to protect ourself and our own mental health. If something is going to influence us negatively and we can avoid the video, conversation, situation, we should for our own wellbeing. 😊

We must be related! Hahaha, j/k. I feel like we have the same MIND! lol. I agree, my friends know I won't entertain certain conversations either. 😆Yeah, I'm glad you got the point I was conveying in my VID.....we don't have to entertain things we dislike or put people down. We just don't have any clue what people are going through. And yes, the whole thing about getting into people's pocket books, who cares what people spend their money on; we put value in whatever we think is worth it. muwahahahaah! Many peeps disagree with what I spend on & vice-versa....it is the power of "choice" & we have the power to control ourselves....even our emotions. TFW & sharing your insightful thoughts. 🥰

This is a very timely subject for me. I get sucked in to the overspending soooo easy watching planner videos and then I feel guilty about the money I have wasted.

I'm glad you made it here. 💕Believe me, you are not alone. Even I am shocked how much of a pull these Stationary items can have, being a seasoned budgeter. TFW. 🥰

Glad you enjoyed the VID. I know these types of VIDs aren't as exciting as 'Journal Flips' and 'What's in my Handbag' so I appreciate your kind comment. TFW. 🥰

Great video! Your mic sounds nice. I love buying planners, but also got discouraged because I don’t have the time to make any of my entries look pretty or draw in them. I felt like I wasn’t doing it “right” so the past few years I just use them for work notes. Great point about doing something as a business.

Awe, yeah, I think we all get discouraged a bit on "pretty planning" and sometimes don't realize that some creators do it for a living. My planning is messy, too. hahahaha. I scribble a lot when I am in a rush to write what I need to remember then have a hard time reading it later. 😆Anyway, it's not just planning but some creators have affiliate links for books, electronics, handbags, etc in their YT channel to create income. We just don't know everyone enough to make judgements on people, in general, is the point to my VID. Thanks for sharing your experiences, I thought I was the only one who thought about my planning as mediocre. 😆TFW. 🥰
