    In my opinion he was the best bro major ever. I was totally impressed from the very first time I saw him in the mid-50s, on through his passing. It was honored to be on the same competition filled with him when I was a member of the Long Island sunrises 1964 through 1968. As they say the best of the best.

    Proud to have known Ralph and to have marched during his last two seasons as drum major, 1966-1967. Honored to have been part of this remembrance and tribute to Ralph.

    My father passed away in 2010 at age 79. He was in parade corps for a long time in NJ. He always told me how he enjoyed "Jimmy D" playing Cherry Pink with the Cabs.

    Very nice tribute to a great drum major! I first saw Ralph in Syracuse in 1960 and he and the Cabs made me a "drum corps nut" all of these years. RIP Ralph

    No words can be said to honor Ralph more than what is being said about him now.

    Nice tribute to Mr. Silverbrand. Met him, Don Angelica and Jim D'Amico at a Howard Johnson on the Mass. Pike following a Mission Drums contest MANY years ago. It was like talking to the gods of Olympus, and yet they couldn't have been more gracious. Saw Ralph again a few years ago in Scranton. Again, a gentleman.
    Few drum majors reach that Pantheon of being icons: Ralph, Wally Curtis, "Wild Bill" Hooten. There are few others. Maybe Rizzo if he'd come out of his shell. ;-}
