We use, Camera>Hollyland Wireless> Roland> Out to Shogun Flame, and LiveU. The use of the Ipad for audio mixing is great, waiting on the physical mixing board. The menu system is easy but I recommend using the ipad for menu and settings. Ipad requres a not so common cable, usb-2 midi to lighting (MeloAudio USB 2.0 Cable Type B to Midi Cable OTG) or the like.

Usually you need to use a video converter for that. Just search 1080i to 1080 converters. There’re usually small devices powered by a 5V adapter getting your input as HDMI 1080i and giving you output 1080P HDMI, or SDI. There’s many combinations available depending on your setup.

Hello, There are a few differences, the first- and most relevant here being size. The ninja v is a five inch monitor while the shogun 7 is a 7 inch one, so you'll have more screen real estate with the shogun 7. Shogun 7 also has a switching capability of its own, meaning multiple inputs can be brought in simultaneously. However, this won't necessarily be needed when pairing it with the V-8HD, unless you wanted to bring in three additional sources that you couldn't fit within the V-8HD.
Absolutely, take advantage of the audio inputs on the V-8HD, and then send the entire mix into your Atomos monitor over embedded HDMI, or feed your audio board right into your Atomos monitor via 3.5mm audio jack and pull your video from the roland V-8HD

There are certainly differences between the Roland and BMD product but your point that BMD leads the way with low price points is a valid one and competition is always a good thing for consumers.
3 scalers when black magic has scalers at EVERY input? Come on Roland…no one wants to do math with this unit on the go. This unit is already a complete headache

We incorrectly stated 3 but the final unit will have 2 scalers. Inputs 7 and 8. Thanks for pointing that out
