Nice vlog Simon. Great to see the class 37 locomotive at Overpool! I need to still do the Chester/Ellesmere Port Branch of Merseyrail! I enjoyed watching as always.
I was at Hooton that day to see 37610. I only live just down the road from the station, where my great-grandfather worked as a rail labourer. It's extremely rare to see any diesel loco on this part of the Merseyrail network these days. The last time anyone saw a Class 37 working the Wirral line regularly, was back when the Birkenhead Dock Branch was still operational, but that's been closed since 1993. Back in July, a GB Railfreight Class 73 came all the way from Tonbridge in Kent, and it stopped at Hooton. The loco number by the way was 73964 Jeanette. It was being used for long distance driver's training, if my memory serves me right. Funny enough, Merseyrail use to own at least four 73s back in the 1990s. They were mostly used for shunting or engineering duties and were kept at Birkenhead North depot and the former Hall Road depot. By 2002 however, they were withdrawn and later sold off.
Those Merseyrail Class 73s, think they were also used a Rail Head Treatment Trains or Sandite Trains as well if I remember from watching videos? Thanks DrMadStudio
Brilliant video Simon, I really liked the C2C class 720 at Crewe, loved the pink doors very much indeed, Class 37 amazing and I actually love the livery on the Merseyrail 508, some lovely station buildings also, great work, thank you 👏👏😉

Hello Simon on this Sunday. Some more news updated about the New Green Park Station. On TH-cam there is a Video Released by Reading Council showing the whole station by Drone The station is complete all car parks etc all complete. The council have released details via local and national media stating They and GWR are now in the Commissioning Stages much like they done on The Elizabeth Line doing final Systems Testing. They will then in January Apply to The Office of Road And Rail an opening date. Reading Council have said in the Spring 2023 still no exact date but at least we have a rough time scale. I think that will be in line of the National Rail Timetable Updates that come into effect in March. So we can look out for this.
Great video, near my neck of the woods. It really is a shame there isn't a regular service from Ellesmere Port to Helsby. There was a bid to use battery 777s, but that was rejected.
What's so funny about little Sutton? I don't get it.? I live in Ellesmere port and you can see my flats where I live in the video from the train platform, great video mate... 🤟🤟
Has Merseyrail confirmed about when or if they be introducing the Class 777 Metro units to enter service on the Wirral Line, Northern Line and City Line routes. I would like to go to Liverpool and experience it as I never been to Liverpool and never been on the Merseyrail. Great video as always. Also as you saw the c2c Class 720/6 I do think that these will come into service by the end of this year.

Depends which day it was as this was the 3rd October but think it ran the next day as well

Little Sutton is a inside joke that was started with GLovesTrains, thanks
Simon when will the normal ScotRail timetable return?
Sure they were reinstated this week, not sure being honest

Starting November 16th (apparently but not confirmed)
But I can confirm these will all be gone within 15 months
As stated, the word is they will be in service by the end of the month.
@@ianr I agree, I sent a email to Merseyrail and they said that too ‘in the autumn’
Interesting stuff. Thanks for the information 👍😊
@@Andrewjg_89 No problem 👍
