    Would you recommend this over a Prusa Mk3? The Prusa has a direct drive extruderand it seems like the firmware is a bit better but it's missing an enclosure, other than that they seem very similar.

      Hi,
      if printing tpu filament is important to you then a direct drive may be the right fit. otherwise, the build and quality of the adventurer 4 is pretty solid, coming in around 80lbs it doesnt feel cheap at all.
      the swappable heads and ease to use is pretty nice over having to tweak and tune... If you want something you plan to customize and modify, prusa is probably a better option.

    For me it is very important to know if Adventurer 4 supports the adjustment of the part cooling fan. I had a lot of problems with Adventurer 3 and had to resort to various diy solutions on this problem.

    • @retrograpejuice
      @retrograpejuice 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You should download flashprint and check out the slicer parameters. You can enable/disable the cooling fan and adjust it's default speed and even change the speed based on which layer your print is at.

    Can I close the door while printing or will it then get too hot for printing in the printer?
    Kann ich die Türe während des druckens schliessen oder wird dass dann im Drucker zu heiss für den Druck ?

    We are between the creator pro 2 and the adventurer 4 for my 12 year old to start a business on Etsy. He’s hooked after some exposure at school to 3d printing. We think being able to print in 2 colors with creator 2 pro might make it easier to create things that are more sellable but the quality of the adventurer 4 seems higher. What do you think?

    • @DJ_Kelpie
      @DJ_Kelpie 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've seen a lot of mixed reviews on the adventurer 4. Personally I would find out what is most important. If the IDEX system is the deciding factor the pro 2 will hands down be the way to go. However, if print size or other things are more important I would recommend looking elsewhere entirely. While this looks good I worry about maintenance and the ability to mod/upgrade this machine. Not only that you can get enclosures for machines that don't come enclosed stock.

      For the prices I'd get a cr10 max around black Friday when it's about 400. Way Bigger build volume and can print any filament nylons harder with not enclosed but will do everything the 4 can do and more for less on an open source printer with the largest following. Now that you have learned the basics. This machine is a great teaching tool and would be amazing in schools. Microcenter has ender 3 pro for 100 rn with 100$ coupon when signing up in stores pickup only.

    Maybe print some foam spacers for the door to decrease if not stop that draft. Is there is a way to interface with the USB port to gain access to the units temperature control and a temperature sensor linked to a Raspberry Pi(with Wifi) to control the extrusion temp? If not, can the Wifi be utilized in a similar manner maybe via a Firmware update. Keep in mind I am not a Tech-pert just in case that was not apparent.

      @@DIYEngineering I may be a simple Muggle but I know you are the WIZARD. Just turn that little amulet around your neck like 3 times and then don't let past you see current you and everything is good. Time problem solved. As for the rest of it, you are the WIZARD. On a more serious note this maybe a product you could sell as third-party. Just make it a generalized interface for variable acquisition.

    Would you be able to reply here and let me know the height, width, and depth of this (maximum of each dimension)? I need to know whether this will fit in a space before I order and I don’t trust the company specs.

    I'm looking for a 3D Printer to just print armor pieces specifically for 1/6 scale figures such as Hot Toys and Sideshow. Would this be suitable? Or could i just do this with a smaller 3D Printer?

      I’d go with a resin printer. The finish quality would be more suited to figures.

    Incredible review, super thorough! Quick question, at 1:48 you said the hot head will prevent the use of TPU and such, but is that a hard "can't" or more of a "not reliably"? Saw your comment below on the direct drive but I really love the package of the ADV 4, just need it to do TPU.

    The 4 is pretty buggy if it isn't working properly when it arrives at your door. And kinda like an apple computer they don't want you to getting in or working on their machines making it even more difficult when running into even a minor issue. At least an apple store is in almost ever city on the planet when I need help. I assume they only help in China if that. for the price I do think prints should come out looking better. Adhesive is too strong at first and not strong enough after the first day. Now only hairspray is saving the print from worping or just being completely pushed off my the nossle while printing. But I've only had mine a month but have 100s of hrs of failed prints but I'll credit that up to bad firmware but I honestly don't know why it won't print and they dont help. I have 100s of emails literally with 3 aftersales reps at flash forge and I've gotten no where. Ironically the only prints I got done were a couple small upgrades for my ender 3 pro I got for 100 new. It still doesn't work and after over a month of wasted time I wish I could just give 1000$ to have my time back and to have never even heard of flash forge. This has to be a joke but no one's laughing. Limited warranty claims seem non-existent. best help I got was beta firmware to try but it never helped and I've had the same issue since I got it. The firmware fixed the unleveling issue mostly but it always stops printing after about a hr no matter what. Not being able to finish one print. I did luckily get extruder knob and slips for ender 3 printed but I'm sure it would of done a better job than the 4. I just didn't want to wait and needed small things to test but I'm kinda sick of dealing with it since time is just as costly and I've lost easily 200 hrs just in trying to fix it. The emails don't come as frequently as when I first asked for help so I don't assume I'm going to get any. I should of just googled the reviews. First thing that pops up is great hardware with buggy software. I looked on TH-cam but every review is by someone that had the printer gifted to them specifically for review here. I think I'm going to be the first one that bought it for what I can tell to review. Wasted grand on my first venture I'd say. Not sure what to even do with it now it's so big it like an oven sized paper weight. Anyone want a brand new one for half off? I'll even pay for shipping! Lol but really

    • @DIYEngineering
      @DIYEngineering  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      how so? I've had pretty good success with it.

      @@DIYEngineering it came unable to tell how far the head was from the bed so it would not level and would only print spaghetti. After about a week I got sent a beta version to force update.( So I know exactly what leveling the new updates are going to bring) but it was a beta version and made the printer stop printing completely so after another week of trying to explain how it's never worked and I have to roll back the firmware update to the most recent one and after completely reinstalling all the software, don't quote me it's only be 12 hrs, but it has finally completed a print so I hope it's fixed. But because of how long the bowden tube is for this machine stringing is neclxt to impossible to stop and some gooping problems from the extruder but for a beginner machine it's decent assuming there isn't an issue then the most experienced will even have issues. I bought this for a review and it hasn't gone well but a month in and I got a decent print only took me 4 firmware force installs factory resetting twice and completely dis assembly and reassembly of the hot end a few times cause everyone at support kept asking if the nossle was clogged when it was the buggy firmware the entire time but I had to send everyone proof I checked. I even went through 3 brand new nossles just opened to show them and filament running through when loaded. The firmware they sent me couldn't keep a constant temp even tho it is heating up half the time, the CPU couldn't confirm. But there's the short version of my month long ordeal fixing this printer I'm not 100% sure is working still. But I'll leave an update if it stops printing again. At least I got a new ender 3 pro for 100 at microcenter. I'll probably use this one for cf and nylon.

      @@techtalk7018 Damn we are really considering this for our lab, since we don't want a lot of hassle and want a printer that works reliably out of the box. Do they issue periodic firmware updates? Or only when we approach support? And have there been improvements with the 'auto' leveling with these updates?

    • @techtalk7018
      @techtalk7018 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@varunv.p.7180 hey man I so wanted this to be awesome but I am having issues printing still. The feeder it leaving teeth marks on the filament and it's the only thing I can see why it won't stop jamming. It's literally every few hrs of printing. I kinda wish I bought a qidi or a cr10 max which will be my next printer soon. I just got a couple ender 3pros for 100 each to finally get some prints done. Also if you need parts to move and such the stringing is impossible to stop. They will kinda work but it's still always a huge issue with printing. I saw a couple co. , Maker not and voxelab have clones of the 4 idk that they are better looked like the same software. I saw so many ppl on TH-cam talking good about it but from my experience I'm stuck with a huge box that barely finishes printing a few hrs with out an issue. The sound stops working after every print is completed and you have to restart it. I was so excited to review this but I haven't been able to get it running all month tbh. Idk if it's just mine I ordered it directly from flash forge end of Feb. Qidi max and cf pro would be awesome options maker muse had good things to say about it and he is pretty trustworthy
