    To be honest major of my doubt is cleared regarding the inter cooler and aftercooler in compressors. Even Marine faculty is not able to differentiate by using such magnificent technical terms regarding the same.Thanks a lot Marine Etutor.🙏🙏very helpful for MEO cl-4

      @@searainly Thank you so much.
      But, is it mandatory to go back to the ambient temperature??

      Suppose if we want to compress air from atm pressure to a pressure of 30 bar directly then T1= 27 degree Celsius, P1 = 1 atm , P2 (Pressure we want) = 30 bar. Now by using Pressure temperature relation with compression index (n = 1.35) ie T1/T2 = P1/P2 power (n-1/n) . When calculated using the above we get T2 = 450 degree Celsius. High temp. 450 Which harms the compressor (lube oil mist, mechanical damage etc etc) ...So that's Why we need to cool the air temperature at each stage without any change in pressure. The intake of air in the first stage get compressed and then it passed over a cooler to achieve a temperature very close to ambient air. FROM GRAPH U MAY ANALYSE THE SAME.
      Thank you!

    sir one doubt basically in intercooler air will pass inside tube and water will flow outside ... otherwise pressure drop of air take place if it flowing outside the tube....

      It's depends whether intercooler is Air-to-Air intercooler or it is Air-to-water intercooler.. I m considering here Air to water intercooler

    how temperature is reduced by keeping pressure constant?

    Sir, why water is inside the tubes and why not air?

    Isometric and adiabatic compression both are ideal. In real case scenario, any one cannot be achieved 100%, thats why the term 'polytropic' compression is used. This is real case procedure.
    Is my understanding is correct??

    Sir for intercooler if air would have pass through tubes and water outside of tube then what problem ll occur?

    • @searainly
      @searainly  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depend whether the intercooler is Air -to- Air inter cooler or it is Air to water inter cooler.... I m considering here Air to liquid intercooler..Both can be used.

    When there is a temperature drop, how is the moisture content removed? I didn't understand this point can you please elaborate
    And after cooler outlet temperature will go below T1? so as to increase air density??
