A morning in the life of owning and using a CRF250L. This little bike really does it all.
Mods are EJK programmer, 13t, and airbox screen/snorkel removal. This bike was sold and replaced with a WR250R.

My bike was featured on Road & Track!

Awesome run ! I've had my CRF250L for nearly two years and I totally love it.
I got the Yamaha TW200 but the tires weren't wide enuff so i got some L-60's on it and the seat was too high so i chopped the suspension. i got to take off the kick stand too, saved weight and it stands up by itself. Saweeeeet ride!!
Man I cant wait to get this bike when I come back from deployment!!!! Was set on a wr250 but man honda has been on top of the game with everything offroad the past year or two. Was a yamaha guy but now I'm converting lol
Great riding! You took the crf250L to its limit I would say!
I love my CRF250L, I upgraded from an XL350. Its a very agile comfortable bike. The electric start and fuel injection is a sweet touch. I highly recommend this motorcycle I also own a GSX1300R Suzuki Hayabusa and a GL1800 Gold wing.
Awesome! I went there on my 16th birthday, the day I got my foreman 450. now i want a crf250L.
Looks like a really trustworhy bike. Don't know why it just looks so reliable and useful.
It is
Its a Honda. Period.
Watch Itchy Boots Season 5. That little Honda covered 20 000 kms mostly off-road around southern Africa. It's a great dual sport bike.
@@markleighton9628 wrote that comment 3 years ago. I bought the CRF250 Rally. Amazing bike.
great video. that steep hill climb around 9 minutes in had me nervous just watching you.
I like the purr of the motor.
it honestly sounds electric.
Yeah the 250L's have a nice low rpm low pitch sound that is nice. I feel like the FMF pipe with the silencer in it makes it sound the best from what ive heard on youtube.
Andy B purrs like a kitten
nice job. tough stuff for on off
As you guys learn to stand (ideally all the time) you will at first feel awkward and then become must more confident riders. Good stuff on that CRF!
Awesome video, I could ride those trails forever
great video man. was watching some reviews on the 250l and this made me really wanna buy it. i hope you'll upload vids of any mods you will make. body mods, exhaust, knobby tires, etc.. keep ridin friend
...and props to the 4x4 support vehicle driver!
great riding thats a tough trail glad i saw this rock on 250l
Nice stuff man, wish we had these mountains here in the holy land LOL!
Q: I didn't notice a skid plate on your bike. If you haven't got one - get and install, you really don't want to break something crucial inthe middle of a ride. Get hand guards while at it...
nice video, really gives me an idea of what dual sporting all about.
I only live a couple hrs from there. I'll definitely have to come check this place out.
Dual sports are the best.
Go for: Techniques of enduro bikes and then hit it again. Nice Area you got there. Wish I had something like this in front of my door.
The bike will bring U home
This makes me want a 250L so bad
that clap a 3:36
I know right. That was hilarious!
Honda Crf hahahaah
You just need alittle more speed when you hit those rocks to make it up. I geared my CRF250L down a bit which made it more torquey and very nice in dirtbike mode! :)
Sound perfect! I did 13/42.. perfect for off road
Looks like a kick ass trail to ride!!!
that white jeep, I'd call it "the crawler" ;) slow and steady
same motor as the cbr 250
The rough areas is why I sold my dirt bike and got an ATV. Think I'm too old now for a nice dirt bike.
I have been riding since i was ten that trail is not rough
So what. Do you want a medal for riding since you was ten?
This place is like Disneyland for trail riders!! I envy all of you!
nice looking country. i would like a mix of that and my area. great video.
great vid thanxz will get me by all the winter ahead of me thanxz
you should go for ride in third world roads for true ride.. honda xl was all I saw in my childhood as most praised.. this reminds me of my village ..
That jeep will climb better if you air down. Great vid!
Cool Trails! I also wish for an additional 10 HP for my WR250R as well. :^)
very nice bike and very nice jeep that is perfect
May i ask how old you are? cause those trails would be ruff for a 55 year old man
I appreciate the advice buddy! Thanks alot kevan
Nice ride!
Excellent Bike
I've had my CRF250L for almost 2 months now, great bike, a little underwhelmed ( well, it is a 250...) personally, I actually should've have gotten the CRF450 instead.
Nice video and cool trails. The sound of your keys banging on your triple clamp the whole time made me weep for it though. Ditch the other keys before you scratch your bike to shit.
How is it on hills on roads no problem? I weight 245lb. You think it shouldn't be a problem for me? Meaning power? I'm not really looking for highway use just local riding/country roads stuff.
good job man. what are the other 2 bikes?
looks like a good time. How much did that bike set you back?
Looked like some tuff terrain I would have crashed quite a few times myself
i enjoyed the vid thanxz
Why replace it with a WR250R
The CRF250L has longer maintenance interval and is more stable I think ?
@@kevanray How do you like the Rally compared to the 'regular' 250L and the WR250? I'm looking at a Rally but haven't ridden it yet. Sold my F650 Dakar a few years back and want another D/Sport. Something for some longer-day trips that is light enough to ride stuff like you were on in this video, probably nothing more than that. Had the Dakar in a couple of spots rougher than that, but it was really pushing it for me at 5'9" and 180 lbs.
good vid, only capable bike i see there was the crf250x, the 250l is way to heavy for trails and the wr250 is old now and looking dated with the tubed frame, the 250l good for commuting and possibly going over some gravel,if you want trail riding get yourself the 250x
well no shit, the 250l is not a enduro or trail bike, its a true 50/50 dual sport. i would love to see the crf250x get 70mpg and ride 70mph comfortably all day, o wait it cant even come close to that.
as for weight anyone that's ridden the 250l knows it weighs more but the weight is down low, a full 6inchs lower actually then most dritbikes, of course you sacrifice suspension travel and ground clearance due to this, but again its a dual sport.........
michaelxcx Love my CRF250L. It has only about 40 miles on the pavement and all the rest is dirt. I got it to do dual sport rides with the AMA like the LA Barstow to Vegas ride. CRF250L will do anything (ALMOST).
Depends on your situation. I'm new to it all and am planning to get a 250L to take on trails, very mild trails anyways. There aren't a lot of places to ride near where I live, gotta get dual sport so I can enjoy it also on gravel and dirt roads. Otherwise it would sit in the garage 360 days a year. Can't have that. I'm also considering a KLX250S, as it is a bit more off road capable, but eh, I like the Honda.
buy one! the crf250l is a great bike! but so are all the other brands! buy a bike that fits you, and has all the speed or w/e u want :) RIDE, be safe, Enjoy! Awsome video
Nice run.
Nice I have the same bike and I live in Greeneville TN how do you like it so far?
Good trail tracks for beginners.
I want a street legal dirt bike, but I think id miss the sound of my 2 stroke. Those 4 strokes are too quiet.
yeah, ive been wanting to put a head/tail light on my RM250 plate it for liability and see what happens lol.
*****
Id imagine. Problem is its technically illegal to remove the stock muffler since its got the catalyst built in and its street legal. I dont know of an aftermarket muffler with catalyst built in.
Quiet is good.
Just curious, you say in one of the early comments that you aren't very tall. Could you flat foot this bike with a 30" inseam?
Thx for the info and the quick response.
looks fun as hell
Nice XJ.
you dont need 10hp more.... a lower gearing for terrain like that is better... the engine have the same torque as a yamaha wr250r but the gearing is much longer better put 13/45 or 13/48 sprockets on it so you can crawl the rocks alot better/more easy :-)
Great vid and I was surprised the Honda could actually do such gnarly terrain, Why the WR? is it not just Yamaha's version of the same dual sport bike? or is it bit more of a proper enduro bike than the CRF250L? I noticed its quite a bit lighter than the Honda
+Navek Media if fuel pump or stator will not fail...
+Paul Thomas I saved $2000 going with the CRF over the WR. After mods (Renthal sprocket change front & back, FMF megabomb & Q4 + air box mods I can keep up with the WR just fine) and still had $1000 in my pocket for new Michelins this summer and lots of change left over. Oh also put on the mini Yoshimiro tailight assembly, got rid of that huge heavy stock Honda equipment. Exhaust & tailight took about 10lbs off weight
+SpaceAceTX exactly right - WR250R also require suspension upgrade so it will be even more expensive.
When you put race tech suspension on crf250l it will be way better then wr250r stock. Besides yamaha reliability recently has dropped.
+Enduro Riders SPOT ON, good post !
+Enduro Riders there are several people with well over 75k miles on stock untouched wr250r's. These bikes are as reliable as they come and far superior to the crf250l. Crf isn't a bad bike but the wr beats it in every way, and the price reflects that.
Golf clap. Classic.
es muy bueno, felicidades, y gracias por compartirlo, mi moto es 2004, y tambien me lleva a las montañas y me paseo en la ciudad o carretera, tambien me he caido muchas veces jajajaja, saludos
love mine great bike
Great video!! Picking mine up tomorrow.. this video makes me wanna ride so bad : p
I love that place!
Loved the video! I'm currently riding a CBF250 which I took to the woods a couple of times (Yeah I know it's not built for it but it's the only thing I've got) and am thinking about upgrading to a CRF250L for the off-road factor...how good is it as an everyday commuter? I can deal with 110-115 KPH (about 70MPH), don't need that much more...will it manage?
it is good for around 65 cruising, it can do 70 but nearly maxing out
mitchell mcpherson km/h or mph?
@@dion8976 mph
I've got one.
very good
how do you weight? did the crf struggled when it was standard with you weight. and does the suspension is so bad?
Thanks for the reply, another question if you dont mind, did you find the weight of the bike really a struggle? I'm a bit worried, I made a deposit for the bike, I weight about 90kg and I hope the crf will suite me well, i'm no expert off roader, I need something better to go over our shitty roads in my country and maybe some light green laning roads.
great video.
what state is this in?
thanks for the video
Nice video got same bike love it
For this type of riding I feel the wr250r would be much better suited for a dual sport.
Oh sweet! I prefer it of the two. Just feels more like a true dirt bike to me
+Shea Parker Compare prices of a 2016 WR250R to a 2016 CRF250L.
The 2016 WR250R starts at $6,700
The 2016 CRF250L starts at $5,000
Both prices from the official websites in the U.S.
Put quite a few mods on the CRF250L and it'll likely be on par, probably still remaining cheaper in price.
For my first bike, I am sticking with the CRF250L. I don't even plan on terrain seen in this video. lol I'll be riding on the road about 70% of the time, with planned light off-road 30% of the time. Still nice to see the CRF250L can handle hard terrain! :)
did you have any mods in your bike?
great trail awesome ride
3:35 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻lmao.
so do you still like this bike. i am buying another this week and looked at this.. im close to wind rock and wanted something lightweight to get rowdy on
jamie cooley if your still in the market I’d look at a 230L or 230F for light weight. Depending on your height (if your shorter) those two would be the better choice. I’m 5”8 175lbs the crf250l can be a little y’all and heavy at times but I can manage
Are you at windrock, TN????
Is the teller in kmph or mph, I assume miles?
BIG ROCKS !!
Looks like some rough riding, fun though. I have only ridden a dirt bike once, a WR250F and it was awesome. How does the CRF250L compare to something like a genuine trail bike? It looks like it performs more like a road bike than a dirt bike, but what do I know? I want to ride one.
U where to much on the throttle, And u had to much weight on the fron wheel, try to put more weight on your rear wheel. :) and be a little smoother with the Throttle. :) and u will be fine, U have a really awesome bike there btw, Drive safe wear your gear and Helmet! ;) so take it more easy next time and try too look at the road and plan your way to your destination. :) I just have a f** moped right now but in about a year i'll get a 125cc #Enduro :)
#hondamotorcycles I have a #riejumrt50 want a #Husqvarna or a #KTM Or when i'm 18 a #HondaCRF250L Just the one u have :)
nice trail
wow, impressive...
For less than 5 grand i'll stick with the Honda over the WR....
WR is by far a much better bike. I own both. In fact I'm getting rid of the pig.
He has since gotten rid of the crf and now has the WR250R. Its WAY better.
Nice video,
Is that Tennessee?
You're bike doesn't need 10 more hp. You just need to learn how to use the clutch and throttle. Just saying
2:42 why did he shut it off?
Remiga136 Yeah, I wanna know too. Did he bump start it by popping the clutch on the jump down?
nice jeep
Sweet
If only the CRF came out at the same time with the CBR :(
2:40 haha even I can do that with my 50cc SM
Why did you sell this for the wr250r? What is it like to ride the wr?
u can adventure, I have one, the only thing it wont do its the highway speeds of 65+mph she likes to stay around 50-55 is her happy place
dylan duelsport Nagy I don't understand why a Honda 250 struggles to do 70mph when any 125cc's don't matter what make it is can cruise at 65 easily. Is this 250 really this slow? Or maybe it's just a 125 disguised as 250 lol.
3:35 Golf clap!
I bought the same motorcycle two days ago, and from what I can tell it even looks like I bought the same helmet^^
Sadly I cant drive it right now because the admission office as well as the Deutsche Post (just the biggest logistics company in the damn world) bith FUCKING SUCK!
I could drive my mountain bike, but thats wrecked because its like 100 years old and only works 50% of the time. So I watch TH-cam Videos with my motorcycle in it... But because this video doesnt have advertisment, there is no need at all to let me watch it in HD. Fuck you TH-cam!
This day is just depressing.
Funny way of clapping your hands lmao
i guess that yoy sold crf because it's little motorxycle in everything huh?
ha i liked the trials rider
This guy never gonna be a enduro rider pro jajaja
hey no mountain goat it did just fine didnt it ha
😮😮👏👏👏👏
