I don't get who mostly pushes dislikes here: people who agree with the reviewer and hate Megadeth, or who disagree and love? I accept the hating reasons and I like Megadeth very much. And I push a thumb up, because it's a very professional break-down!
if you like Megadeth, you thumb up. If you are bored and have no idea what's going on you thumbs down. If you put a video up about cooking babies, there will be at least one thumbs up. Now if you dislike one single point this guy made, dislike for that one single thing...not any of the rest. Look around, that's how it works now. Dave Mustain is hated based on downvotes. I guess that's how I found this. Who actually hates this stuff? Kevin Spacey? Dislikes will follow from just saying that name and I'm fine with it. That's not hate as of this posting nor is Dave "hated" ever. we love megadeth and this is a working theorem. We'll depart quicker than we defend others in real walking around life.
5 reasons why people hate Metallica, Megadeth, and Avenged Sevenfold: 1. They're huge and mainstream, so it's a fad to hate them. 2. see number 1 3. see number 1 again 4. Check out number 1 once more 5. Number 1
people believe they sold out and are pop groups, which they initially were opposite, they feel the aesthetic or lyrical themes are irrelevant/stupid, don't like the members like how people seem to dislike Lars and Dave, and for AX7, because people viewed them as a fake-thrash intruder and many thrash metal fans hate being stereotyped as AX7 fans. so I guess it all does lead back to popularity, but more so what the popularity entails
+Games'n' “n” Guitar I Agree with a small addon: while hating them because they are huge and mainstream it is important to keep complaining that heavy metal doesn't have more exposure. Especially, the underground Polish extreme metal band that "real metal fan x" really likes because nobody knows them :D
Søren Eriksen People should be thanking bands like Megadeth for being so bloody popular and opening up more people to more underground heavy metal acts that otherwise would be forever unheard of by the vast majority were it NOT for bands like Megadeth, as well as Metallica and A7x. Yet "true metal fans" seem to despise these bands because "they're on the radio" or "they're not real metal". People need to listen to songs like Natural Born Killer, All Nightmare Long, and Fatal Illusion by these bands. Brand new-ish songs from each band, all songs are metal as fuck. Just because they're huge and mainstream does NOT make them un-metal. It just means they make music that's more appealing to the general population of Earth.
You are very right man. not many people understand that it is supposed to be a raw sound. he's not trying to be a melodical opera singer. I tip my fedora to you sir!
Hell yeah! very true. Unique band! Unique singer! and Unique voice in the music style of trash metal! music Metallica is fine but megadeth is the real deal! for me and kill rifs that metalica dont have sinds the 80s. like Holly wars - take no prisoners- hanger18 - rust in peace -wake up dead - five magics - Killing Is My Business And Business Is Good! and many more. dave is the chosen one!! dave is the godfather of trash metal without a doubt! dont you all forget that!! and i dont give a shit how dave is its not about how dave really can Be but about the music and the music still give me the kick i need into my face to stay awake in life its 2019 and it still does it for me.
Also they would have never made it if they'd hired a singer lol. Look how many guitarist and drummers they went through. Dave would have probably fired a lot of singers as well. Losing a singer hurts a band the worst.
I'm one of the metalheads that are like: Hey as long as they make good music, it doesn't matter if they turn Christian or whatever. That's your business, not ours.
I love the fact that Dave is born again. And I love how people jump all over him for it. They conveniently forget that Ellefson is Born Again as well. And then they leave out (on purpose) the fact that James Hetfield is, Nico McBrain is, and our good buddy Tom from Slayer is Catholic. People seem to leave those facts out of any argument having to do with Dave, because just like Lars, it's "cool" to hate them. I feel sorry for the people that jump on those hatewagons, and totally miss out on things like Dystopia and Death Magnetic.
I think the fact that Tom is catholic and is in slayer says tomes about himself and the band. it's not about being anti-christ, it's about the real message, to think for yourself and question the powers that be instead of blindly following, which ironically some slayer fans don't do by just blindly accepting whatever music they put out or whatever opinions come out of the band's mouths.
Megadeth is one of my favorite bands. His voice is by no means good, but you somehow get used to it after a few listens. It's good in a bad way. It's very strange to describe it. I like the uniqueness to it. The other instruments compliment it very well too. Love this idea for a series by the way! Do a top 5 reasons people hate one of the emo bands like My Chemical Romance or Black Veil Brides! I'd love to hear what you think about those!
alexnatoe I like My Chemical Romance and I'm not emo. If you don't like them then you are a metal elitist that thinks every genre is bad except for metal.
No you may just be someone who likes musicians who can actually play their instruments.... Unlike My Chemical Bromance. It's a case of virtuosos versus circus freaks with no talent.
Rumor has it that Dave became Christian to please a few assholes who said that he's "satanic." What a bunch of bullshit, hardcore Megadeth fans will love Megadeth and Dave no matter what. LONG LIVE MEGADETH!!!
666Polaris666 in his book Dave mustain states that nothing was pleasing him anymore and he was at the end of his rope. He lost his family and he was tired. He said he didnt know what else to do so he fell to his knees and prayed. After he said he had such a feeling of peace it was amazing.
Daves voice grows on you, the more you listen the better, its like Billy Corgans voice from S.Pumpkins, strange at first but once you get used to it feels ok.
I agree... I remember first listening, when In My Darkest Hour appeared in my recommended. I hated Dave's voice. I hated all song in fact. Now I'm a proud fan and In My Darkest Hour is on my top 10 Megadeth songs ✌️
I love Megadeth, it is my favorite band but I will admit that Christianity part does annoy me, him and his family have said some stupid shit. I still have a positive back ground with Dave and megadeth, his albums saved my life when I was suicidal and when I met him it was a positive experience.
oh crap i'm all late. he was nice to me and while i watching everyone in line talking to him, he seem to be social. usually the ones that get a bad meeting with him i know tend not really be much of a fan in the first place. If anything when i met him i was too nervous to talk so he had to start a conversation with me to make me talk lol
The Bunny Barn by Jax its disappointing when people you like and admire shows up as religious. I always though he was a smart and regional guy and now he believes in something you can't differ from fantasy.
imo he makes kick ass music. I particularly don’t care what religion he chooses because that’s his own personal choice as long as it doesn’t affect the music.
People hate Dave because he turned Christian? Lol! Sounds like the ridiculous people who don't like bands like Demon Hunter for that same dumb reason, that and they're metalcore! Lol! I also didn't know that, interesting though! I also agree that the whole Metallica and Megadeth fan wars is plain out stupid. I happen to be a fan of both. It also gives listeners such as myself more variety, like some days I'm in the mood for Metallica, and other days, I need some Megadeth. Nothing wrong there right!? Haha!
Say I live under a rock but Dystopia got me into megadeth and I a hunch that Dave was a conservative and when found out he was I liked the band more, and finding out he's a Christian made me like them more. I guess I'm just special.
I have in interesting list of names for 5 reasons people hate Slipknot/Corey Taylor Slayer/Kerry King Ghost Maynard James Keenan Green Day The Beatles Nirvana/Dave Grohl Oozy Osbourne Pantera Andy Biersack(I'm a BVB fan honestly, no BVBArmy shit but I like their music) Dream Theater Djent
some of these, and many bands of similar status, because they claimed another genre (like Green Day punk/Ghost metal) and everyone in the scene says THAT'S NOT THE GENRE, but outsiders will stereotype all thrash fans as AX7 fans, or because people view them as have nothing useful to say usually or regressive views.
One of the greatest things ever to happen in music probably was Dave getting kicked from metallica. Simply for the reason that Metallica was fine(although slightly different) without Dave and Megadeth wouldn't even exist. I'm just very grateful for both of these bands' music.
Don´t say bullshit ... without megashit, I can swear... Sepultura, Slayer and other true bands would have kept the true thrash metal.. not blondie megashit
+Shield Alien There's a lot of stuff that I dont like about Rust engineer/production-wize. I have listened to their complete discography, that's why I easily say I dont like Dave's singing but love the music
One of my friends Couldn't listen to one of their albums because of Dave's Vocals. I personally love his vocals though especially on their Newest Record, Dystopia they just sound so fucking cool.
+Ximon Trespalacios I don't like his voice live because he changes the tone so much but I love his voice on the actual album recordings. (not remastered).
+Ximon Trespalacios Like them or not, the hardest album was Rust in Peace, best video was Holy Wars, this was also the final album before they decided to go mainstream. As for the album Rust in Peace, why they decided to come out with a remaster version who really knows, but was horrible.
Yeaaaaah lol I have been a fan since I was like 7 (17 now) and I still don't even know at least half of their line ups up to date. I don't really dislike it but I wish they would just keep the same members.
I really like Megadeth , but i think a good reason people get turned off from them is : 1) inconsistency with Band line up - they always change every few years. People love bands because of the members but when they change all the time its hard to fall in love with the band 2) Daves live voice vs recorded voice
I love Dave's voice, it's really unique. It has degraded over the years though and is much worse than it used to be. I also think it's really cool that Dave (and Dave) became Christians, especially because Christianity is largely hated by the metal community.
+pillsareyummy Their lyrics, their stage shows, their band names, members stating their beliefs in interviews and sometimes taking extreme actions (church burnings in Norway for instance). Looking through comments on TH-cam videos about their music shows that many fans agree with their beliefs. Anti-Christian bands are pretty common in extreme metal. Dave Mustaine's conversion being one of the reasons people hate Megadeth shows how many metal fans feel about Christianity. I'm not saying most metal fans are anti-Christian but clearly a large portion of them are.
I think people look at megadeth the wrong way. I see them as a Great thrash metal band that can pull of rock/lighter metal very well. A lot of people look at them as a thrash band who sold out.
I'm a Christian. I am extremely religious. I still listen to Goatwhore, Mayhem, Slayer, etc. I don't understand why people hate Megadeth just because of religious views. I read the Bible while I listen to death metal. I, personally, believe that God blessed many of us with this music as a way to cope with struggles, enjoy the arts, etc.
The bands "inconsistency" is the reason I love them so much. There's so much variety with Megadeth that other bands just don't have. It's why I can listen to them every single day and never get tired or bored with them. All the other bands I have to be in the mood to listen to them. And I love how distinct Dave's voice is.
If you've ever opened a show for them.... #5. Dave treated us like total shit. #4. They only gave us 20 minutes onstage. #3. Their road manager would not let us drink onstage. ( Hello, you're on a club tour.) #2. They held a prayer meeting backstage before they went on. #1. Dave had a wardrobe girl ironing his silk shirts and his pants for the show. I loved Megadeth, and we worked hard to get that opening slot. But when every member made themselves unavailable to their fans, I kinda thought they were all dicks.
+Ghoulish Grin Films No they aren't. No one in the big 4 is consistent. After Peace Sells, Dave release a painfully average album called So Far So Good So what. After the high point of Rust in Peace and Countdown? Welp, time for Youthanasia, CRYPTIC WRITINGS AND RISK. After the high point of Endgame? Let's put out another painfully average album called Thirteen and a garbage called Super Collider. You can easily guess what will happen after Dystopia. Dave Mustaine is just an almost impossible person to work with.
+RedgraveGilver I agree that none of the Big 4 bands are consistent. But Megadeth in my opinion are the most consistent of the four. Metallica and Slayer hit really high then faded and Anthrax had spots of greatness. And I think because Megadeth is a revolving door of musicians, they are able to sound fresher than their peers, who stuck with original members and now sound a bit tired. Though to Anthrax's credit, they still have a bit of punch to their sound.
I learned about Dave in 94 when I met my ex husband who was enamored by Dave and his guitar work. The ex would play anything he did. With perfection. Intense finger work and I would marvel at the speed of it all. We would be together for almost 13 years. And I was just surviving on my own basically since 1 1/2 years in. I finally sent him across country to find a way to make it permanent and separate. Sometime in 04-05 after our younger son had his 2 bone marrow transplant at 6. I was active in the local cancer groups that would allow us to go to many many things like sports, concerts and other events for fun. So around Easter we were invited to a extremely elite equestrian place in Scottsdale of fountain hills. I was able to bring the 4 of us (2 sons and the ex) I would often do stuff with out the ex cuz he’s a shit and the most of the time we would go alone. So since I begged my ex and he just couldn’t be bothered it was just me and my younger son. So we always went anywhere pretty much just 2 one son and I or occasionally the two boys. The charity event was in north Scottsdale it fountain hills. And it was during the time Dave lived in az. I actually was just making a stick horse with my son and with unbeknownst to me with his wife teaching us. I never had even laid eyes on her before so I was clueless. Right after my son ran off to check go on the next thing that caught his eye. I turned around to throw away the apple core my son had finished. Next thing I know was there in the flesh was the man I had seen in all my ex’s pics and posters. All I remember was I could not even say anything.. just kinda starstruck. I barely composed myself with a few words that I was acknowledging to myself and out loud and said something about it being him. God I was an idiot and he’s not even my favorite musician that’s Layne Staley. So we said a few things and my son was 5 and I introduced him and told him it was his dads favorite musician. I distinctly remember Dave asking me if I wanted a pic of him with us. My son exact words “na I wanna get my face painted” I was embarrassed and sad but I mean my boy was only 5 clueless unless it was a younger celebrity. He couldn’t care about that fact that it was his dadd idol anyway AT ALL! Dave didn’t miss a beat and asked me if I wanted a pic. I jumped on it and was grateful to him. I have always heard about his reputation as a meaner artist and temperament for being not so nice. But it’s definitely didn’t see anything like that in the few minutes and a little conversation with him. I called the ex on the phone and told him. He missed out and I was thinking how karmic the situation ended and I met him instead of the ex. I have the pic on one of my other external hard drives. We also had a trip to la to meet Adam Sandler In 8/05. I split with him on 6/05. I have the best memories of the two days meeting a few of the best friends Adam would have in his movies. All this exact summer we had a few events that we met musicians and celebrities. Last event was in sometime after school started and we went to see breaking Benjamin. After that show we got the opportunity to go backstage and meet the band. I definitely still have a single pic of my sons and the band. So many of the things we did involved music are sports. I have a lot of life long friends to this day now with journeys similar and some more tragic. But Dave will never be anything but kind and genuinely caring in my memory.
The greatest thing that ever happened to metal was when Mustaine got fired from Metallica and formed Megadeth. Period. I love Hammett, but he could never write, sing or even play holy wars.
I'm in the 'don't like his voice' camp. For the same reason, I can't listen to Dream Theater for more than two or three songs, even though I like the music very much.
I can say this much from opinions from non-metal fans around me: Dave is the Geddy Lee of metal. The voice is the only thing I've ever heard. They instantly tune out and I have to set them down. Read the lyrics, hear the anger hit at the right moments, then they actually approve. OK, I lied: I'm to blame. I burn out the albums for others playing them too much. Youthanasia was when I was in a real relationship while at the same time understanding a larger world than my little town taught me and wanted to talk about it (kid, military, future wife). Cryptic Writings came out and it was on a LOT. It was 1997 though when everything was a grunge hangover still (same slightly older kid, same lady now rolling her eyes, soon to be ex girlfriend). Lately it was Dystopia in which I preached again, this time to the excellent wife about how they're always hitting the vein of our actual personal issues. She can't understand Dave's vocals either, show her the lyrics, and she's nodding the entire time. Moral of the story, you may be dating one of my exes if you play any of the big 4, point something out, and they jump out of the car while you're on the freeway, hahaha!
But dave literally says "what do you mean I don't believe in God, I talk to him everyday". He never was anti religious at all I don't get why people get mad he became christian.
Dave Mustaine had a reputation, like Slayer, for not being fan friendly. Back in the 80s both Megadeth and Slayer were known to not be people who wanted to hang with their fans while Kreator, Voivod, Possessed, Destruction and other bands were always walking around the crowd in the nightclubs. As for the people who hated Mustaine for being a Christian, people hate me for being a Christian even though my social opinions and faith are two different things. I support gay marriage (they don't care), I'm pro-choice (they don't care), I'm respectful of all religions and even Atheism (they don't care). The Athiests don't like Mustaine for the same reason they don't like me. They think I'm a fool blindly believing what they believe is a fairy tale. These people are more narrow minded than any ultra-right Christians I know of.
Inconsistant? Are you fucking kidding me? They have been called the most consistent of the top 10 thrash bands. That is a fucking joke, metallica is the most inconsistent of them all.
ya but daves voice sounds pretty much the same now as it did back in 93 (to me anyway) whereas james, wow wtf happened, it almost sounds like he needs to start drinking before singing. you are right about daves voice though. i know people that listen to wasp, pantera, static x, king diamond but cant stand mustaines voice... their loss.
Dystopia was really fucking good, I could listen to those first 2 tracks all day. Also The thing with Dave's Voice, I really like Dave's vocals but I do not like Screams
+Bengie “Sawyer” Macfarlane Listen to While We Sleep or Down With The Sun by Insomnium, these are songs with screaming but they're still very melodic, and also the screaming is not aggressive at all
It's cool that you don't like screamed vocals. But don't call it shit. If you don't like it, someone else will, and that happens to be the entire metal community. Also, screaming rules. Sometimes it's bad (atleast in my opinion) like in core, but that's not the best example.
A side note, but I was thinking about your March music madness tournament and how in the last few years the winners have already had a discog review. If that happens again you should do a video on a band review of them, a video on top 15-20 songs by the band, and a video ranking all their albums. Hope you keep up the side discography band, looking forward to you finishing Rush, Porcupine Tree, and Pantera!!
Love Megadeth and Metallica, saw both live on there last 2 tours and the Big 4 show in NY and Metallica has never disappointed me in concert, saw every tour since Justice,Megadeth is still at the top of there game and unbelievable live.
i personally really despise Dave's voice,i like some songs but on others his voice is really annoying, but the music is pretty fucking awesome theyre instrumentals are killers so i respect them
Nah it's because they're so much better than Metallica. You like battery, master of puppets, enter sandman ?? Here's holy Wars, tornado of souls, and hanger 18. It's what the big boys listen to.
Robert Chaston Fade to black is more of a power ballad, so you can't really compare it to Hangar 18, so you're talking bulls hit.. Holy wars = Disposable Heroes. To Live is To Die is an instrumental, so you should compare it to Wake up Dead or Hangar 18, which are mostly instrumental. And Hangar 18, Wake up Dead >>>>>>>>>>> To live is to die.
i don't care what Dave believes in, what he says, how he sings. He's a musician. Just as long as MEGADETH releases badass fucking metal, that's all that SHOULD matter.
1. Lars Ulrich (his drumming or his attitude). 2. They sold out. 3. They haven't released a good album in 25 years. 4. Their fans who seem to like no other metal bands. 5. Kirk Hammet's overuse of the wah-wah paddle.
There's also Dave Mustaine's recent transformation into a conspiracy theorist. When I saw him thanking Alex Jones in the liner notes for "Super Collider," a douche chill ran down my spine.
+Grey Sabbath 1. Most fans are only fans because "Through the Fire and Flames" was on a GH game 2. Their lyrics are very samey, using very similar phrasing, particularly in the ZP Theart era. 3. ZP Theart left the band 4. Their songs are long and overblown 5. The guitar playing is more show-offy than emotional
6)Takes credit for everything 7)Takes control of everything 8)Creates a toxic environment for his band members, not letting them contributing, and causing all to leave (or be kicked out) and even sue him
I did drift away from Megadeth... I was a huge fan back in the day however today I don't even bother listening to the new records I just listen the old ones especially PSBWB Megadeth was the first band I idolatred as a young child... such fool thing to do..
I miss those good old days watching Headbangers Ball, funniest interviews between Riki Rachtman and Dave Mustaine. Dave was waisted most of the time, always talking smack, didn't seem to care. Was aswome to seeing theme back in 91 Clash of the Titans Tour.
I love Slipknot but hey let's give this a shot: 1. Their masks 2. They have 9 members but 2 of them only hit kegs on stage, one is a DJ who isn't very prominent on some songs, one is a sampler 3. They're not br00tl enough for elitists 4. People think that from Vol 3 onwards they sound too much like Stone Sour (though I personally disagree) 5. Corey Taylor / long gaps between albums because of Stone Sour (though Corey Taylor gets all the flak for this despite Jim Root also being in Stone Sour until 2014)
+Noah Boyter 1.I would say inconsistent music 2. Their fans being way too fanboy overprotective, narrow musical influence (or at least the outspoken ones) 3. Corey Taylor becoming too outspoken 4. Joey Jordison being the most talented member and not in the band anymore 5. How many little kids are at the shows.
1. Their fans think they are way better than they are 2. Too many superfluous members 3. Their riffs are generic and repetitive 4. They try too hard to be edgy and fail due to a lack of lyrical creativity 5. They got big in the nu metal era (which to be fair is not their fault, and has nothing to do with their actual music)
+Nick Hurst The singing/growling, dont like the whole "proggy" nature of the songs how its a different riff every 5 seconds. One of my friends is like this, and its unfortunate cause their one of my favorites. Seen them live more than any other band, probably cause theyre always near me
+MegaFreddy25 1. Paved the way for several annoying one hit wonders e.g. Drowning Pool's Bodies 2. Not metal enough for metal elitists 3. Alienated metal fans who hate hip hop 4. Angsty immature violent lyrics 5. Limp Bizkit.
hey man as a huge megadeth fan I understand some of your points why people hate the band ... or dave , hence the band aswell haha , anyway the point about the albums I have to disagree , the first three albums where consistent and then RIP took it to another level but better and then they hit the new sound with countdown onwards , but I think system has failed brought it back to a heavy level and endgame ,anyway. I don't think this made fans hate megadeth I think it gained more fans because Dave didn't stick to one sound with his music , and to for someone to stop listning to a band because he converted to a religion well then I don't think your a music fan and just a douche who thinks heavy metal is about anti religion
DO THIS ONE::Here is one topic that I would like to hear your opinion about: this one is making me puke especially when younger "fans" talk abut it Example: "oh slayer sucks since seasons in abyss" While I can agree that diabolous in musica was "meh" album and I can understand why some die hard thrash metal fans cant deal with GHUA (whicjh was great album,in my opinion) I just cant understand how the fuck someone can like seasons in the abys or south of heaven and dont like Christ Illusion and World Painted Blood.those albums have exactly same "old skool Slayer" songrwriting on it WITH BETTER DRUMMING AND BETTER PRODUCTION AND those 2 albums are faster than SIA and SoA.I was not there where South of heaven was released bu if I was there and If I heard that album after Reign in blood I would be so disapointed and called them sellouts because it was huge step down in every aspect of thrash metal music.I dont say it is bad album, not at all,but it was big let down but those two albums became "masterpieces" and people are bitching about AWESOME Christ Illusion and great World Painted blood. does it because of "older fans" influences on younger fans or what. Same goes with bitching about some album production nowadays.people are like "you know it is good album butt I dont like production" - those are words from people who didnt give a fuck about production while there where only shitty audio tapes.for example nobody didnt give a fuck about AJFA production untl internet stuff appeared and everybody had their opinions."you know, there is no bass,it sucks"oh really, there is no bass, but all these years you were listening AJFA without complaining and suddenly you read on the internet that James and Lars where fuckin with jason and put his bass parts low in mix. so,my point is,does younger fans have their own opinions or they are jumping on bandwagon with their ate about some albums and bands because they heard it from older dudes or read it on the internet.i personally know lot of dudes who are bitching about some albums and they didnt even give a listen to it.
+dekapitatorr hard to tell. I feel that Seasons was the last really legendary Slayer disc bit not the last competent one. The newer albums are a bit more hit-and-miss but OK listens. I do think there is a culture given to some newer fans based on collective representation. That's everywhere, sadly.
+dekapitatorr What you said about production is only a half truth. Back in the 'old days' metal fans didn't bitch about production as much because most of the underground/independently released albums had average to mediocre production anyway because they couldn't afford better, but things started to improve a lot in the 90's and standards rose accordingly. You are correct about the generational differences in terms of how certain albums are perceived though. A lot of younger Slayer fans rate GHUA as their best album, which seems insane to older fans, and it's certainly a position I don't agree with, but I can at least understand it. Younger fans should not take the opinions of older metalheads as gospel. The fact is that many of us are set in our ways and have fuzzy perceptions about the 'glory days' of metal. In my view, the only metal fans that can plausibly get away with romanticising the 'glory days' of the metal genres or bands of the past are the ones that watched them develop from their very early years. If you weren't there, you just don't know, and some of us that were there don't necessarily have the most reliable memories. As for Slayer, I got into them a year before Divine Intervention was released, so I caught them just before the 'downward slide' took place, but I loved that album in 1994. I don't hate DIM and I rate GHUA. I'd take GHUA over Christ Illusion any day of the week, so not all of us old farts are in the same boat.
+dios bananos I'm definitely an old fart. I got into Slayer when I was 12 and Hell Awaits had just come out. Every album they've done is good shit. Some are better than others but they all have their merits. God Hates Us All is a fucking great piece of metal.
to be honest daves unique voice is what got me into megadeth lol its so fucking furious !!! bad omen, skull beneath the skin, rattle head, good morning black friday, the conjuring, last rites loved to deth imo define what it means to be furious!!! some of the most destructive songs ever created in metal
I love Megadeth. I don't care if Mustaine is a crazy conservative Christian, or a dick. All amazing artists are usually off in some ways. He's a great guitarist and not a bad vocalist (though I see why people can dislike his voice). Megadeths music will always be my favorite, it's very diverse, interesting and inspires me in many ways.
I am a Megadeth fan, but I get pissed at Dave Mustaine some days. Then on other days I love him like sunshine. Thing is, you're never bored when you hang out in Dave's treehouse. :) I couldn't imagine Megadeth with any other vocals. I just say, hey it's metal it's not supposed to be pretty. He makes what he has work for the most part. I'm a Bernie Sanders supporting agnostic, so no, I don't agree with Dave's political statements - but what the hell does that have to do with riffs? How does that cause Peace Sells or Rust in Peace to stop existing? I can never hate the man who gave me those records enough to walk away. And if you are not listening to Dystopia, you are missing out.
Im a Megafan and a Metallica fan. heard Metallica first but seen dave in Metallica's bio. Then I started jamming to Megadeth and now Megadeth is my drug.
I don't get who mostly pushes dislikes here: people who agree with the reviewer and hate Megadeth, or who disagree and love? I accept the hating reasons and I like Megadeth very much. And I push a thumb up, because it's a very professional break-down!
Andriy Vasylenko yo I've watched like all your videos
if you like Megadeth, you thumb up.
AHHHHHHH
People hate Megadeth?
Exactly what I was thinking :D
Ikr
No. It's impossible!!!!! *droogies cry*
Whaaat?! Nobody can hate Megadeth and MegaDave!!
right? i mean, im more of a tallica guy, and Dave is kind of a prick nowadays, but i don't know anyone who hates megadeth musically
5 reasons why people hate Metallica, Megadeth, and Avenged Sevenfold:
1. They're huge and mainstream, so it's a fad to hate them.
2. see number 1
3. see number 1 again
4. Check out number 1 once more
5. Number 1
people believe they sold out and are pop groups, which they initially were opposite, they feel the aesthetic or lyrical themes are irrelevant/stupid, don't like the members like how people seem to dislike Lars and Dave, and for AX7, because people viewed them as a fake-thrash intruder and many thrash metal fans hate being stereotyped as AX7 fans.
so I guess it all does lead back to popularity, but more so what the popularity entails
+Games'n' “n” Guitar I Agree with a small addon:
while hating them because they are huge and mainstream it is important to keep complaining that heavy metal doesn't have more exposure. Especially, the underground Polish extreme metal band that "real metal fan x" really likes because nobody knows them :D
Søren Eriksen
People should be thanking bands like Megadeth for being so bloody popular and opening up more people to more underground heavy metal acts that otherwise would be forever unheard of by the vast majority were it NOT for bands like Megadeth, as well as Metallica and A7x. It just means they make music that's more appealing to the general population of Earth.
this
+Games'n' “n” Guitar I'm so glad Havok is on tour with Megadeth right now!!! They're killing it!!
Dave's voice kinda makes Megadeth what it is, it's almost about the rawness of it
You are very right man. not many people understand that it is supposed to be a raw sound. he's not trying to be a melodical opera singer. I tip my fedora to you sir!
he is playing his balls off, in my opinion his voice is fucking great for someone who never sang
+Objection202 he kicks total ass at guitar. The guy is totally badass
+Occasionally funny biking and skating yeah he's a god at guitar. the great voice just adds to the awesomeness
Mr. Peanut agree 100%
People hate megadeth because Dave Mustaine fired Metallica.
dave was kicked from matallica
matallica was fired from dave
he was kicked any real metal head knows that
does it mean I cant post stupid jokes about that dave's better that metallica
it was funny. too bad it went right over this guys head
Dave voice is unique to thrash and is why I like it.
The Satanic Santa
or slayer or exodus usually the three I hear bar a few.
agreed dave and megadet hpretty much invented thrash
Hell yeah!
He definitely dosen't have a good voice, but I can't imagine Megadeth without Dave's voice
I'm one of the metalheads that are like: Hey as long as they make good music, it doesn't matter if they turn Christian or whatever. That's your business, not ours.
If a band member turns out Gay or Christian (Rob halford, Mustaine, Hetfield, Araya etc) I literally wouldn't care if they kick ass or sound cool
I wouldn't use miss out and death magnetic in the same sentence personally
Eh, to each their own I guess. Aside from the shoddy mastering, I thought the album was absolutely classic Metallica.
Yeah but tom will still play crazy songs with satanic topics. Megadeth won't play the conjuring. I fucking love that song
I think the fact that Tom is catholic and is in slayer says tomes about himself and the band. it's not about being anti-christ, it's about the real message, to think for yourself and question the powers that be instead of blindly following, which ironically some slayer fans don't do by just blindly accepting whatever music they put out or whatever opinions come out of the band's mouths.
this deserves far more upvotes
Metallica and Megadeth made up..... but the fans are still like: "Peace Sells..... but who's buying" :D:D
+itkojecockot Great comment but nobody noticed. I guess I'm one of the few who scrolled down this far.
I'm glad Dave made up with them myself..... without SataN and original Metallica there would be no real Thrash....
itkojecockot I bought it
Technically speaking Megadeth reinforced thrash metal. Even Anthrax said that.
His voice is hilarious, and I love it!
alexnatoe I like My Chemical Romance and I'm not emo. If you don't like them then you are a metal elitist that thinks every genre is bad except for metal.
No you may just be someone who likes musicians who can actually play their instruments.... Unlike My Chemical Bromance. It's a case of virtuosos versus circus freaks with no talent.
I love his voice . It’s like a witch’s cackle .
Dave mustains voice is Great & perfect for Megadeth. (Fan since 1986)
MEGADETH is one of the greatest Thrash Metal Bands ever!
The best imo
Imagine that being wrong
Dystopia is pretty fantastic, regardless of whether you like Megadeth or not you should try it out.
And his voice sounds really good on that track
your sunglasses don't hide the cue card reading.
+Retired43 you're definitely new. Lol
coverkillernation Kirk's a masturbating house plant?!? i about died 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Rumor has it that Dave became Christian to please a few assholes who said that he's "satanic." What a bunch of bullshit, hardcore Megadeth fans will love Megadeth and Dave no matter what. LONG LIVE MEGADETH!!!
666Polaris666 He became a Christian by his own decision, not to please anyone. Read his autobiography.
Pedro Lopes. i agree 100 percent
The Bunny Barn by Jax what was it like to meet him
oh crap i'm all late. he was nice to me and while i watching everyone in line talking to him, he seem to be social. usually the ones that get a bad meeting with him i know tend not really be much of a fan in the first place. If anything when i met him i was too nervous to talk so he had to start a conversation with me to make me talk lol
The Bunny Barn by Jax mine too
The Bunny Barn by Jax its disappointing when people you like and admire shows up as religious.
I have in interesting list of names for 5 reasons people hate
Slipknot/Corey Taylor
Slayer/Kerry King
Ghost
Maynard James Keenan
Green Day
The Beatles
Nirvana/Dave Grohl
Oozy Osbourne
Pantera
Andy Biersack(I'm a BVB fan honestly, no BVBArmy shit but I like their music)
Dream Theater
Djent
Why would someone hate Dave Grohl. He is nicest guy ever atleast what i have seen
Marko Galic I've seen people hate on him
If they hate him because of music that is ok but he is still "Good Guy Dave" and i am not big fan of Foo Fighters
some of these, and many bands of similar status, because they claimed another genre (like Green Day punk/Ghost metal) and everyone in the scene says THAT'S NOT THE GENRE, but outsiders will stereotype all thrash fans as AX7 fans, or because people view them as have nothing useful to say usually or regressive views.
Drew McGivhan Or because "they're too mainstream" can't forget that one either
Dave is like the crazy uncle, you hate but him but are inclined to love him.
I myself do not like at all Dave's voice. The music is cool
+makchamp remastereds were so shit.
+Ximon Trespalacios Like them or not, the hardest album was Rust in Peace, best video was Holy Wars, this was also the final album before they decided to go mainstream. As for the album Rust in Peace, why they decided to come out with a remaster version who really knows, but was horrible.
The only thing i don't like about megadeth is the enormous number of line up changes they have gone through
Yeaaaaah lol I have been a fan since I was like 7 (17 now) and I still don't even know at least half of their line ups up to date. I don't really dislike it but I wish they would just keep the same members.
I really like Megadeth , but i think a good reason people get turned off from them is :
1) inconsistency with Band line up - they always change every few years. People love bands because of the members but when they change all the time its hard to fall in love with the band
2) Daves live voice vs recorded voice
I can honestly see why inconsistency with line-ups can make it harder. I heard Metallica having different line-ups is a big deal, but this?
I love Dave's voice, it's really unique. It has degraded over the years though and is much worse than it used to be. I also think it's really cool that Dave (and Dave) became Christians, especially because Christianity is largely hated by the metal community.
+Isaac Koop How do you know that Christianity is 'largely hated by the metal community'.
+pillsareyummy Because many bands are anti-Christian and many fans share that sentiment.
Isaac Koop Again, where's your evidence to show that many bands/fans are anti-theist (anti-christian)?
+pillsareyummy Their lyrics, their stage shows, their band names, members stating their beliefs in interviews and sometimes taking extreme actions (church burnings in Norway for instance). Looking through comments on TH-cam videos about their music shows that many fans agree with their beliefs. Anti-Christian bands are pretty common in extreme metal. Dave Mustaine's conversion being one of the reasons people hate Megadeth shows how many metal fans feel about Christianity. I'm not saying most metal fans are anti-Christian but clearly a large portion of them are.
@@pillsareyummy rotting Christ
I think people look at megadeth the wrong way. I see them as a Great thrash metal band that can pull of rock/lighter metal very well. A lot of people look at them as a thrash band who sold out.
+Alex Ritter megadeth are probably the greatest thrash metal band along with slayer and testament
+Kieran Finnigan they said that people want to force Dave mustaine retired
ollie ray wow, thats utter shit, personally i find dave mustaine voice good. but trying to force someone to retire is just unnecessary
Kieran Finnigan because of his nerve damage
ollie ray ahh okay
I'm a Christian. I am extremely religious. I still listen to Goatwhore, Mayhem, Slayer, etc. I don't understand why people hate Megadeth just because of religious views. I read the Bible while I listen to death metal. I, personally, believe that God blessed many of us with this music as a way to cope with struggles, enjoy the arts, etc.
Such a brilliant analysis man. In my opinion you have the best comment
@@courdell7426 Thank you!
5 reasons hate babymetal, Amaranthe, Van canto
+Marko Galic babymetal would be a great topic!
People hate amaranthe?
Who hates Van Canto? I wish I knew people that KNEW Van Canto at all
+OffLeatherWings yes people hate van canto. MetalSucks called them worst metal band of all time.
+Ethan Work (HiRize) i ve heard some folks calling them garbage metal.
The bands "inconsistency" is the reason I love them so much. There's so much variety with Megadeth that other bands just don't have. It's why I can listen to them every single day and never get tired or bored with them. All the other bands I have to be in the mood to listen to them. And I love how distinct Dave's voice is.
When Dave got saved I got into Megadet end more! Always liked the band, but went full in and just love all their music and the fact that he got saved!
If people love rock and metal, how the fuck could someone hate Megadeth? I can understand hating Dave, but the music is superb.
Let's not forget before Dave got kicked out of Metallica he came up with a good number of their riffs.
How can you not love MEGADETH
too soft
I think of the Big 4, Megadeth may be the MOST consistent musically.
So far so good so what is one of the best thrash metal albums out there
Also youthenasia and cryptic writings are fantastic
There is never going to be a perfect band but megadeth is the closest thing we have
if there ever was would be, it would be dave and junior, along with dimebag and vinnie paul and bruce dickinson
My son exact words “na I wanna get my face painted”
I was embarrassed and sad but I mean my boy was only 5 clueless unless it was a younger celebrity.
Dave's voice is AWESOME
rock lee Ugh
The greatest thing that ever happened to metal was when Mustaine got fired from Metallica and formed Megadeth. Period. I love Hammett, but he could never write, sing or even play holy wars.
i would give my ass for have a voice like mustaine. i mean his voice between 1984 - 1995
Dave’s voice is actually one the reasons why I love Megadeth. I think it sounds cool as fuck and it’s unique, which makes it amazing for me
I'm in the 'don't like his voice' camp.
Inconsistent? Sure, lets write the exact same album every 2 years. I want to buy RIP every other year for the next 30 years. Dumb reason.
But dave literally says "what do you mean I don't believe in God, I talk to him everyday". He never was anti religious at all I don't get why people get mad he became christian.
A Pittsburgh Penguins fan running his mouth off...how unusual.
Some say they are repetitive but I disagree. 13 is different from Rust in peace
Rust in peace is the best album and best line up!!!!
Preach it brotha!
Megadeth destroys Metallica in every way
Fanboy^^^
DZAP 194 nope, thats a fact
Luis Mac
Sure
theMightyWebb best Metallica album was the first one and it was basically written by Dave
Different people, different opinions. I like both equally.
Dave's voice specially in albums like countdown to extinction , youthanasia, cryptic writings and risk
Inconsistant? Are you fucking kidding me? They have been called the most consistent of the top 10 thrash bands. That is a fucking joke, metallica is the most inconsistent of them all.
I think has more to do with record selling success and musical style changes.
risk.
erek shin S&M, ReLoad, LuLu, St. Anger, Black Album, Load
Legoman19892 That is a possibility, but usually when people talk consistency they are talking musical style.
TheWarDog11 after black metallica becomes really inconsistent and im not denying that, im just saying megadeth is also inconsistent.
ya but daves voice sounds pretty much the same now as it did back in 93 (to me anyway) whereas james, wow wtf happened, it almost sounds like he needs to start drinking before singing. you are right about daves voice though. i know people that listen to wasp, pantera, static x, king diamond but cant stand mustaines voice... their loss.
Dystopia was really fucking good, I could listen to those first 2 tracks all day.
Also The thing with Dave's Voice, I really like Dave's vocals but I do not like Screams
Games'n' Guitar Finally someone who agrees! I love Metal but when I ask what other people listen to, It's this screaming shit
I don't know if you did this one or not, but five reason why people hate Death metal or Black metal.
Tbh there's nothing wrong about these genres but the genres' fans are annoying af and make you hate it.
Love Megadeth and Metallica, saw both live on there last 2 tours and the Big 4 show in NY and Metallica has never disappointed me in concert, saw every tour since Justice,Megadeth is still at the top of there game and unbelievable live.
i personally really despise Dave's voice,i like some songs but on others his voice is really annoying, but the music is pretty fucking awesome theyre instrumentals are killers so i respect them
Megadeth kicks ass! So does the new album.
The bands made peace, huh? Did Dave sell it to Metallica?
I pretty much love Megadeth because of all those resons. I love the music and Dave's voice. Plus that I'm a Cristian to.🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I'm a Megadeth fan boy
What I don't get is why people act like he's stating his own opinions. He's not. He's stating common reasons for why people don't like Megadeth.
Dystopia is my second favorite megadeth album after peace sells
I am a Christian and an avid Megadeth fan...thanks Dave and Dave Jr.
Welcome to the light....
I grew up with megadeth rust in peace album and I still love megadeth and I like metallica but I prefer megadeth
Rust in Peace is one of the best metal albums of all time
Nah it's because they're so much better than Metallica.
You like battery, master of puppets, enter sandman ??
Here's holy Wars, tornado of souls, and hanger 18.
It's what the big boys listen to.
Fade To Black > Hangar 18
Disposable Heroes> Holy Wars
To Live Is to Die > Tornado of Souls
Sorry, it's what the big boys listen to
Robert Chaston hell yea
Megadeth > Metallica > Anthrax > Slayer
Imo. Slayer > Metallica > Megadeth > Anthrax
+Xx Jonnathan Brave xX Anthrax > Megadeth > Metallica > Slayer
+Rainbow Rising Metallica>Megadeth>Anthrax>Slayer
Megadeth > Anthrax > Metallica > Slayer
+Xx Jonnathan Brave xX I have never been a fan of slayer except for their first album and a few songs
Ive met dave and he's actually not an asshole.
Ty Leslie no way
5 reasons people hate Metallica
1. Lars Ulrich (his drumming or his attitude).
2. They sold out.
3. They haven't released a good album in 25 years.
4. Their fans who seem to like no other metal bands.
5. Kirk Hammet's overuse of the wah-wah paddle.

2.The Napster Incident
3.Lars.........Ulrich
4.LuLu

+MJNation lol Sad But True (No Pun Intended)
+Rainbow Rising
I'm a Metallica fan and I like a ton of metal.
if you really love metal, you DON'T pick sides
There's also Dave Mustaine's recent transformation into a conspiracy theorist. When I saw him thanking Alex Jones in the liner notes for "Super Collider," a douche chill ran down my spine.
Mustaine. The man who was too maniacal for Metallica. MEGADETH is awesome. I like Metallica too...until that Sandman crap.
Top 5 reasons people hate DragonForce
+Grey Sabbath 1. Most fans are only fans because "Through the Fire and Flames" was on a GH game
2. Their lyrics are very samey, using very similar phrasing, particularly in the ZP Theart era.
3. ZP Theart left the band
4. Their songs are long and overblown
5. The guitar playing is more show-offy than emotional
+ViciousFriendlyFish 3.5/5 are accurate
+ViciousFriendlyFish Oddly enough, people love them for all of those reasons too. Lol
So far so good has a gloriously debauched sound, the remaster took all that away. check out the original 1988 recording it's crushingly good!
6)Takes credit for everything
7)Takes control of everything
8)Creates a toxic environment for his band members, not letting them contributing, and causing all to leave (or be kicked out) and even sue him
Great explanation, glad I found your channel.
I did drift away from Megadeth... I was a huge fan back in the day however today I don't even bother listening to the new records I just listen the old ones especially PSBWB
Megadeth was the first band I idolatred as a young child... such fool thing to do..
I miss those good old days watching Headbangers Ball, funniest interviews between Riki Rachtman and Dave Mustaine. Dave was waisted most of the time, always talking smack, didn't seem to care. Was aswome to seeing theme back in 91 Clash of the Titans Tour.
Top 5 reasons people hate Slipknot.
I love Slipknot but hey let's give this a shot:
1. Their masks
2. They have 9 members but 2 of them only hit kegs on stage, one is a DJ who isn't very prominent on some songs, one is a sampler
3. They're not br00tl enough for elitists
4. People think that from Vol 3 onwards they sound too much like Stone Sour (though I personally disagree)
5. Corey Taylor / long gaps between albums because of Stone Sour (though Corey Taylor gets all the flak for this despite Jim Root also being in Stone Sour until 2014)
+Noah Boyter
1.I would say inconsistent music
2. Their fans being way too fanboy overprotective, narrow musical influence (or at least the outspoken ones)
3. Corey Taylor becoming too outspoken
4. Joey Jordison being the most talented member and not in the band anymore
I'm an Old school Metalhead & I've never heard anyone say hate Megadeth or Mustaine!!!... So, are U serious???..
Megadave rules!
I love Megadeth I think you should do one on top reasons why Megadeth is better than Metallica
5 reasons people love/hate btbam.
People hate BTBAM?!?! How?
+Nick Hurst The singing/growling, dont like the whole "proggy" nature of the songs how its a different riff every 5 seconds. One of my friends is like this, and its unfortunate cause their one of my favorites. Seen them live more than any other band, probably cause theyre always near me
+149CreepingDeath08 damn that's crazy they're so chaotic and brilliant
Nick Hurst they are my favorite band by far but alot of my friends hate them to the point where i can't even bring them up in a conversation.
Met Dave at GC a couple years ago... not a dick! Maybe before, but not now.
John Patitucci sweet!! I'd be speechless!!
5 reasons people hate Nu Metal?
+MegaFreddy25 1. Paved the way for several annoying one hit wonders e.g. Drowning Pool's Bodies
2. Not metal enough for metal elitists
3. Alienated metal fans who hate hip hop
4. Angsty immature violent lyrics
5. Limp Bizkit.
How about the Voldemort of nu metal Fred Durst! Nuff said.
ViciousFriendlyFish Bodies is a REALLY annoying song, but that album by Drowning Pool is pretty good imo.
+MegaFreddy25 1.It Sucks 2.Death,Thrash and Black metal are much better so why listen to nu? This 2 reasons are enough for me
Nu-metal bands were the Wingers and Nelsons of the later half of the 90s, only worse.
hey man as a huge megadeth fan I understand some of your points why people hate the band ... or dave , hence the band aswell haha , anyway the point about the albums I have to disagree , the first three albums where consistent and then RIP took it to another level but better and then they hit the new sound with countdown onwards , but I think system has failed brought it back to a heavy level and endgame ,anyway. I don't think this made fans hate megadeth I think it gained more fans because Dave didn't stick to one sound with his music , and to for someone to stop listning to a band because he converted to a religion well then I don't think your a music fan and just a douche who thinks heavy metal is about anti religion
DO THIS ONE::Here is one topic that I would like to hear your opinion about:
this one is making me puke especially when younger "fans" talk abut it
Example: "oh slayer sucks since seasons in abyss"
While I can agree that diabolous in musica was "meh" album and I can understand why some die hard thrash metal fans cant deal with GHUA (whicjh was great album,in my opinion) I just cant understand how the fuck someone can like seasons in the abys or south of heaven and dont like Christ Illusion and World Painted Blood.those albums have exactly same "old skool Slayer" songrwriting on it WITH BETTER DRUMMING AND BETTER PRODUCTION AND those 2 albums are faster than SIA and SoA.I was not there where South of heaven was released bu if I was there and If I heard that album after Reign in blood I would be so disapointed and called them sellouts because it was huge step down in every aspect of thrash metal music.I dont say it is bad album, not at all,but it was big let down but those two albums became "masterpieces" and people are bitching about AWESOME Christ Illusion and great World Painted blood.
does it because of "older fans" influences on younger fans or what.
God Hates Us All is a fucking great piece of metal.
dekapitatorr
to be honest daves unique voice is what got me into megadeth lol its so fucking furious !!! bad omen, skull beneath the skin, rattle head, good morning black friday, the conjuring, last rites loved to deth imo define what it means to be furious!!! some of the most destructive songs ever created in metal
Too many Lineup changes.
The top 5 reasons people hate Megadeth is #5 Dave Mustaine #4 Dave Mustaine #3 Dave Mustaine #2 Dave Mustaine and finally reason #1 Dave Mustaine.
Landyacht why would you hate Dave mustain?
TheSloppySlender did you really just ask that
hes one of thebest guitarists out there
Musically, Metallica is not even in the same league as Megadeth.
Cause Megadeth hasn't escaped the shadow of Metallica. Cause Dave Mustaine has turned into a conspiracy theorist and a drama queen.
Im a Megafan and a Metallica fan. heard Metallica first but seen dave in Metallica's bio. Then I started jamming to Megadeth and now Megadeth is my drug.
