This Guard van needs
1. New revolving chairs
2. Communication set installed in van, prevents walki talki carried by guards
3. Battery charger with DC power generator motor connected to wheel for power supply in cabin
4. False sealing roof to prevent heat and cold penetrating in cabin and toilet
5. CCTV monitor for camera installed at various points on Van And Engine with GPS transmission to all nearest station receiver
6. This shall provide first information to nearest station about any accident between station
7. This van should have stretcher
With first Aid
8. This Van should have water storage filling and overhead tank drains. OVERHEAD TANK should be equal to length of roof top shall prevent need of false sealing
9. Van should have Digital writing screen to send report immediately received by nearest station and or received by guard from nearest station as well as both recorded for respective goods train or train, this shall prevent guard to carry any writing mode need during traveling.
IF YOU WANT TO IMPROVE GUARD VAN IMPROVE IT PROPERLY THEY ARE ALSO RESPONSIBLE PERSON CARRYING RESPONSIBILITY OF INDIAN RAILWAY PROPERTY, INDIAN BUSINESS SECTOR RESPONSIBILITY, INDIAN ECONOMY IMPROVEMENT, EMERGENCY SUPPLY AND AID RESPONSIBILITY, PETROLEUM PRODUCTS RESPONSIBILITY AND SO ON.

The worst ever finish of the cabin done. Why Railways cant make a decent finish in side the Guard Room.. Very very poor Quality of finish inside. Railways forgot that Guard is also a humanbeing.

Yes, also there is no toilet in engine for loco pilots, and in summer temp of engines is 50 degree it's very difficult to drive train, there should be AC in engines

Actually goods train never pass through water hydrants as such water tanks are not provided in goods brake van. The facility is provided only for emergency use & guard carry water with them during duty.
Water provision is a must.Very absurd without water.A water hydrant must be on goods trains railway line at each major station.🙏

They can add an overhead water tank so that the guards can shower shave and do everything. There must be provision for a socket to make tea coffee etc because in winter its very cold.in.olden days dream loco drivers were given jaggery also to make tea and at times the guard also could get his share .most of the goods train do not stop at stations for simple provisions.
Very very bad finish, basic like insulation, light, water, fan is missing. The designer of the box should be made to sit in it during peak summer

The provision of electricity and fans are under process and few one already provided with solar system. The Pilferage of components are basic problem.

Train produce its own electricity mostly using big dynamos inside it, so it's not necessary for solar panel which still requires battery and controller.

It's good that washroom has been provided in guard vans. Is there any overhead water tank in it? Lights and fans should also be provided. In such iron chambers, we can understand the plight of goods train guards, especially during summer. Something needs to be done.
It was my childhood dream to travel atleast once in guard van

Finishing quality is worst. Don't know who designed and why Indian railways don't innovate modern design or take a help from best design studios!?? I'm damm confident our street welders can make better than this finished quality . Look at the box quality 🙄🙄🙄🙄, I doubt the knowledge of engineers who works at railway factory 🤔🤔

Problem yeh hain ki IR Industrial Designers ko hire nahi karta. Hamaare acche coaches ka ergonomics aur build quality utna acchha nahi hota hain. Iska toh bahut hi gaya gujra hain.

Railway has miles to go regarding providing basic amenities in right way. I have no idea why railway is not serious about the safety and comfort of its employee. 74 years have been passed since independence.
I think the problem is the attitude of the leadership which doesn't consider it to be important at all and all that matters is the financial numbers... Also, I have seen many people in India, who have this weird attitude that employees mean slaves and hence should not be given basic amenities or even human consideration to "keep them in their place"... These are the kind of people who take offence at seeing their maid/servant sitting on a chair and insist that they always only sit on the floor and don't allow them to use the toilet at home or have fresh food... It is incredibly pathetic...

गॉड वाहन में लाइट की व्यवस्था नहीं है जिसकी वजह से आज भी रेलवे के गार्ड बहुत परेशानी का सामना करते हैं ज्यादातर गर्मी के मौसम में बहुत परेशानी होती है तो रेलवे को इसके बारे में सुधार करना चाहिए और आप इस सुझाव को आगे भेजने का कष्ट करें
ये कुछ ऐसा है कि जैसे पुराने टाइम में मास्टरजी/पापा बालों की चोटी बना कर पँखे से बांध देते थे की जैसे ही नींद का झोंका आये,बाल खिंचे, नींद गायब... ,वैसे ही गार्ड साब को नींद न आने पाए,वैसा डिज़ाइन किया है...भरपूर 'असुविधा' देने की कोशिश की गई है...

As I am son of Rly. Guard, who retired as Chief Guard (Southern Railway). To start with he serves as Goods Train Guard. OMG at that time d Guard van so tough, small, all metal. Soo much of sound while moving. Only urinals like, no nproper seats, no vacuum break system like now. I travelled on few occassions. In the open area, woe, wonderful feelings. Open view of nature in motion, as U rightly said. Thank God I have enjoyed. Let Allah sot bless my Abba, Amm, who were so nice, humble. I always cherish those Golden, peaceful days. I love Railways, it z in my blood. For few months I worked too.

This is discovered and realised by Railway after 100 year 🎊
Just show. These trains will be stabled at wayside station and everything inside will be damaged/stolen. At major yards, mechanical staff cut even the metal sheets to repair leaking goods wagons. Poor guard has to brave wind and rain in this ramshackle cage. Nobody will bother to clean toilet of BV even if the guard beg. Fans, taps, mirror, if anything fixed, you can trace them from the houses of mechanical staff or local junk market.

It is so sad that Indian Railways has never taken care of the amenities of its staff who are on duty 24x7x365. Some times I feel pity on the Running Staff of the India Railways. Be it Loco Pilots, Its Train Drivers or Its Guards. Railways has never take care of their comfort. The cabins of the Mail, Express and Even Shatabi Train are not provided with AC and other basic comfort. The Rail Unions have also never pointed out on all these. The Rail Ministry should take this on priority. The More The Comfort, The More The Efficiency of The Running Staff. The Basic Qualification of Train Driver is B-Tech, BE in Electrical or Mechanical. I think such qualification would expect some amenities for them as a token of Recognition of their Qualification.
There is nothing new in this design & after some time u 'll not find seats, comode, glasses in their respective places ....

Whoever complaining about water and looks, I think the product shown here is "under construction one" and not the " finished one"... the finished one will have water facilities, lights and comfortable sitting arrangements as per latest standards.. You can get that finished product view from other uploaders videos..
I would take a RV body and put it on top of a flat bed and ride in that on the Indian Railway system. Better than AC coach

But what about a lights inside the guard van. A small portable generator should be placed inside in case the guard had to write something.
In foreign countries there are no guard vans attached at the end of the goods train.
Instead of spending so much on guard van, old train coach could have been modified and attached at the end of goods train.
horrible finish , We Indians doesn't care much in the asthetic look, the finish by such a great engineering giant is so pathetic that the local metal engineering shop guy can give a far better finishing jobs , some useless addition is called improvement , they could have windows in forward and rear ends so that the guard can have a better front facing view .......see the trains of our neighbour China in terms of designing and technical advancement ....we are lot behind ....i think private - govt partnership could improve things little better

I worked as guard goods , guard pass . And guard m.exp.from 1986 to 2013, mm all these modern facilities were not available then .which are provided by the government.l thanks.

Finally IR don't treat Guards like Animals. Why Not Electricity and Air Conditioning. The same goes with Driver as well.

It would have been better if they provide one water tap along with the toilet since this is going to be used in India,😢😢 not in Europe. Anyway, consideration of guards as humans is a good sign. And cudos to the engineer for the design and finishing of the guard's metal box. Genius.

As per the new goods gaurd it has lights and fan in cabin and both balcony sides. The compartment is not insulated. Piyush Goel inaugurated the gaurd cabin. But where are this work is done?
