I genuinely believe the comet/yoshi bike is the most underrated vehicles right now. People dont really seem to appreciate how much better inside drift has become after the patch. They were unplayable with Waluigi since you need such high handling for inside drift in this game, but with the yoshi class + optimal miniturbo they are so much better to drive. So much easier to dodge items cause youre taking different lines, easier to snipe others, and it just feels so rewarding when you do a turn as tight as possible. Really brought a lot of joy to the game back for me once i decided to start learning it!
I need to give it another chance, it has interesting and useful advantages with item evasion compared to outside for sure
@@TWD98 The biggest learning curve is trying to get your brain to understand the outside drift part. You have to start your drift earlier than on Wii, and you also have to start your drift a tiny bit before passing a corner. Like you're basically wanting to start a drift like an outside drift vehicle but a lot tighter. Once you get it you really begin to appreciate the crazy tight lines you can take with inside drift. Also, handling matters SO MUCH MORE on inside drift in this game than on outside drift, the yoshi class is the bare minimum of viable handling so don't fret about using a class with even more handling when learning!
Although these are all very valid pros for inside drift bikes, the biggest issues with them are the meta shortcuts and techniques that they have a harder time to do / straight up cannot do. Hopping to realign is impossible with inside drift, and super bouncing off bouncing pads is impossible too. Hyrule Circuit's NISC is a lot harder with inside drift, DK Summit's double alignment is harder, Mushroom Gorge's gap jump is a lot harder (+ no super bounce possible), Dragon Driftway's gap jump is basically impossible shroomless, DK Mountain's gap jump you have to take it much wider, and I'm probably missing more. And that's without mentioning the weird turns some tracks have that you simply have to get some practice to get around them, like Donut Plains 3, Ninja Hideaway, DS Mario Circuit, etc
Don't get me wrong, I love inside drift and I've been maining Yoshi Bike since even before the BCP, but the cons outweighs the pros by a lot in my opinion
@@wistitipnf404 What's the Hyrule Circuit NISC? I recognized all the others you mentioned, but I'm confused on the NISC. Is that where you hop over the off-road entering the S-bend with the Deku-Piranhas?
@@zainepittman653 yes that's the one. it's harder with inside drift because of the way to have to sway in and take the turn (the fence on the left and the upcoming tree are the biggest issues)
in response to that comment at 16:51, Rock Rock Mountain is a bagging track with a massive shortcut and you were playing the fastest vehicle frame in the game. Bagging tracks favor speed vehicles because mushrooms and other speed items give bigger boosts to faster vehicles, so taking that massive shortcut in such a fast vehicle frame is what made that victory possible.
The Circuit Special is (design-wise) my favorite vehicle frame, though, so still a massive W : )
Yeah, was looking for comments about this, RRM is a top-tier bagging track, sort of a mix of Cheese Land's gliding and Dry Dry Desert's massive mushroom cuts. That post-glider shortcut is obscenely huge.

Cool list, however, there are things that are a bit further from each other than they really should be. The Mach 8 and Inkstriker have the same stats, people just use Inkstriker for its smaller hitbox, so it is definitely better, but a C-S distance might be a bit much imo :)). Otherwise, great vid!
Yea it's really interesting how some of the vehicles with the same stats feel vastly different due to hitbox
It honestly depends on your philosophy. While yes technically Mach 8 should be like only a single spot lower than Ink, practically there's no reason to ever use Mach 8 online because Ink Striker 100% outclasses it. I think something being outclassed should lower its placement further.
There's def a few vehicles that have identical stats that he rated far apart just cuz he was going off of vibes. For example Landship and Streetle have identical statlines, but they were also split B-S.
You'd still be wrong since mach 8 has more invincibility than the inkstriker, so technically, not 100% better.
Also, i think bigger hitbox = bigger target, but more likely to pick up item boxes and coins, plus able to lean off a ledge further on courses with cliffs. Lastly, general performance i think matters more, as the mach 8 isn't better than the inkstriker, but would it be just above steel driver? Same tier as circuit special? Lol it's far better than both. @SeaOfPixels
@@James-pb8xu In fairness, trying to lean off the coarse like you're a world record Rainbow Road time trialer is kinda just asking to get bumped off by the entire lobby.
Now I know what you're thinking "Clearly you exaggerate sir, while certainly such risky strategies invite the potential for any little thing to go wrong, surely one cannot have the ENTIRE lobby bump me off at the same time", but no. There's this really weird glitch in MK8 DX online where trying to pull risky speedrun strats allows everyone else to ignore eachother's collision for the sole purpose of bumping you off the road. It's kinda wild.

You have to make one video someday ranking combos suggested by subscribers. Also, the City Tripper is underrated. I remember my first time choosing it on MK8DX, it was Christmas, my parents had given me and my brother a Nintendo Switch and we had just played Mario Odyssey. Then I found the City Tripper while we were playing together and said: 'Hey look, it's the bike from Mario Odyssey's Metro Kingdom!' and decided to try it because of how much I had liked the game. I was surprised with how good it was. Also, Yoshi bike has the same stats as the Teddy Buggy (just a little more invincibility) and the Cat Cruiser also has the same stats (just even more inv. frames than the Yoshi Bike or the Teddy Buggy).

This was an interesting way to do a frame tier list. The pipeframe objectively should be in S tier as it has the same ground speed and miniturbo as cat cruiser and teddy but better handling and more acceleration. And pipeframe has same handling as Biddy Buggy with .50 more speed and only .25 less miniturbo.
Imo the most underrated frame is the city tripper
Same stats as the Pipe Frame, pretty solid vehicles all around.
Only got the game a few weeks ago, and my main is Rosalina, City Tripper, Roller, Paper.
I can't wait to get the Pipe Frame, because I feel having 4 wheels would allow me to get lucky saves more often when I'm bumped off track on some turns.
The combo I used the most before getting the Tripper was Rosalina, Streetle, Button, Roller, Flower.

As someone who has exclusively used the Flame Rider since day one of this game in 2014, it is a HEAVILY underrated vehicle. So happy to see it get some much deserved praise!!!
the flame rider wasn't that good in mk8 because in that game speed matters more than mini-turbo unlike in this game
Honestly I think the projectile spam/backspam at the line with MK8D is less so an issue with the items themselves perse (aside from the fire flower), but moreso the fact that you can hold two items or atleast that you can get two items in one set. It kinda allows people to have atleast 2 a decent amount of the time or atleast one most of the time, which innately just means overall more projectile items are given in general aswell as using them to hit players being less punishing given you'll likely have a 2nd item anyways, not helped by the fact that more than just the shells exist as projectiles.
Standard bike has been my bread and butter forever I’m glad you see the vision
While I'm a Comet enthusiast myself I believe Streetle / Landship to be the most underrated, A lot of stats are identical to Teddy Buggy / Cat Cruiser however the former has an advantage on Water and Ice where as the latter is Anti Grav and Glider, It's a great flex pick if you notice a Water track in rotation (Dolphin Shoals or Amsterdam Drift for example) as you'll be able to rival even Mr. Scooty / Biddybuggy.

I find it funny that for the Standard Bike, the Flame Rider, AND the Wild Wiggler (which all have the same stats) you got Waluigi Pinball as the track

I loce how the Bone Rattler, the absolute worst vehicle in the game, has a higher ranking than the Mach 8, which shares stats with the inkstriker.

i know its not as good as the Wii U but its still a very solid vehicle, it should still be in A atleast, i just dont think it works well with mario

You're not wrong about the master cycle being worse than the jetbike, it even has a bigger hitbox than it by being longer. It however atleast imo has the benefit of being one of the best looking inside drift bikes especially when paired with it's matching wheels.
Also as far as underrated vehicles are concerned I think just, all of the inside drift bikes. I find them really fun to play because of their learning curve giving me more interesting races as opposed to always using outside drift.
Hey TWD98 I’m an inside dirt player in MK8 and let me tell you that the sports bike and the jet bike have the same stats. While the comet and the Toshiba bike have the same stats as the cat cruiser and the teddy buggy. Make sure you look at the stats so you know what you’re racing. If you were do bump into each other in mk8 just remember that I have funky king comet metal tires and normal glider

City Tripper would definitely be my pick for underrated in general. I never see it used but it's a pretty fun and good vehicle to use, and the fact it has so many different color variations makes it all the more fun to pick with different characters.
Kinda makes me wish more vehicles did that in this game, it really adds a layer of personality to each character you pick.
On kind of a side note, another reason I wished the vehicles had more color variations is because the Koopalings' standard kart colorations are so good but you only can see those on like, 4 vehicle parts sadly
35:51 Tip of advice to everyone someone throws out a blue shell, it shows on the mini map. I usually when I see a blue shell on the mini map I break and let 2nd place take the blue shell.

Pipeframe stays underrated! Same speed and mini turbo as Teddy with better acceleration, traction, and handling! It does lose some points for anti-grav, but I love the way it feels driving it
I'm using City Tripper for my Rosalina while I wait to unlock the Pipe Frame, same stats, also underrated.
Sometimes, I feel using a "bike" is dangerous, especially when on the inside of a gap turn and everyone is bumping you.

I think the comet is underrated people should use it more. It has been my main combo with dry bones and roller wheels for such a long time. I have gained about 16k VR just with it
1:21:20 I can answer this pretty well. There are a number of reasons that Yoshi Bike is better than Comet, but I’ll keep it as short as possible. The Yoshi Bike has a smaller hitbox, both in length and height, making it easier to dodge items. Additionally, wall dodging reds is easier on the Yoshi Bike due to its smaller hitbox. The additional 1-2 frames of invincibility don’t have enough of an effect to justify switching. Additionally, the Yoshi Bike has hands that help to visual align with the turns better. Lastly, yes, it’s way cooler.
Most underrated vehicle by far is the City Tripper. Same primary stats as Teddy and car cruiser. Different secondary stats. Absolutely S tier. It was good for a reason.

28:22 you got a star because the items you get on this game are partially affected by how far you are from first, and since peachette who was in first already was on the other side of the cannon, the game think that 1st place has a huge break away

most overrated imo is the Flame Rider (which shares stats with the Wild Wiggler), tho is does have one my favorite engine sounds
most underrated I think is the Koopa Clown and Master Cycle Zero. Its only real weakness is its Acceleration, as it has exceptionally high handling for its very well rounded speed stats. Also the best traction in the game.

I'd love to see you attempt this challenge again with tyres. Just keep the Standard Kart and Super Glider on, but change the tyres every race. I think it'd be interesting to see how they stack up against each other!
That'd be a poor test. The tires - and gliders for that matter - are a lot less in number compared to frames. Not to mention there's more grouping of stats in the tires and gliders, so more multitudes of tires and gliders have the same stats. The most you could base them on is bounciness for the monsters and cushion tires, and the gliders would be based on visibility of the road beneath you. That's it.
@@zainepittman653 I mean, testing the different frames is hardly scientific either. There are too many variables at play to effectively showcase which ones are objectively 'better'. At the end of the day, I still think it would be fun to test them out for some vehicle variety, especially since the wheels are still fairly significant. You're right that the gliders barely change anything, though.
The P-wing might not have the best stats, but it’s got the highest in the game in steez

I think master cycle zero is underrated not because its better than other vehicles but because it looks and feels good with azure rollers and Link and i really like the sound of the engine!

Honestly, I think the City Tripper is the most underrated frame in the game, because I use Peachette, City Tripper, Roller Wheels, and the Cloud Glider; which is a good combo if I do say so myself.
It would be cool to see a video where you go through wheels instead of frames. If you did do so I wonder what frame you would use! 🤔

Nothing in E tier? Shocking. Normally, Troy would have something in E tier.
Even though they have different icons, the atvs actually have no different in drift radius. The only reason people use the Teddy buggy is because 1. The hit box is a little bit smaller 2. Before the invincibility nerf in 3.0.0 (wave 6) it had the exact same stats. Then after that people just stayed on that combo because that’s what they had always used

i actually used the standard bike for the longest time with yoshi, up until i got to like 8k vr and just then i finally got more into looking into the stats of all the different combos lmao but now i stick to the karts

Blue Falcon and Rollers for life. It just works for me. Use it with Pauline, Wiggler, or Birdo. And yeah, as someone who plays online a ton, alot of bullshit occurs. Like you said "There's always something" lol.
Can you redo your all characters 150 point challenge
its when (at about wave 3) you raced a race with every character and you aimed for as less points as possible. 1st=1 point 12th=12 points and so on . The goal was to do it under 150 points. Would be really nice to see because you have got so much better at MK8 Deluxe. Loved the VID.
not gonna lie, sometimes I favour being a larger hitbox for the reason staying on the track and not falling is more manageable if u know how. I play multiple combos most the time, but main Koopa streetle cushion wheels.
The Master Cycle Zero is slept on, that’s my main. Once you get the hang of it, you can do a lot of damage.
I mained the Circuit Special in MK8 on the Wii U. Glad Troy pulled off a win with it. 😂
The ATVs having different drift radius or anything different for that matter from karts is a myth. Hydreix disproved this misconception in a video/short.

The only thing that mattered was the engine, both vehicle parts and driver was purely cosmetic. And MK8DX has a lot of cool frames that are pretty bad because of their stats.
Also being able to choose the color of vehicles (like the biddybuggy/pipe frame to give a example) could be a nice option (something like yoshi/birdo/shy guy colors)

I used to play light blue Yoshi, Blue Falcon, Slick Tires, Cloud Glider forever. That was MK8U though lol
Now it's Baby Luigi/Adult Daisy and Biddy Buggy, Comet, or Sport Bike with whichever wheels make sense at the time lol

I still main the blue falcon because I got used to playing it in MK8 and it just looks incredibly good, and I still think it's good tbh (and as much as I love the Yoshi bike, it definitely feels better than any inside drift vehicle in my opinion)
