Dave, first I have to thank you for your kind words, the tears are still flowing... Everything you said about Michael is so on point. I noticed right away when he didn't post his message on Monday morning. I reached out to Raine. Well, she finally found out and posted the news. 😢 He was always so encouraging and kind. Now, I thank you for opening up your heart and saying what you did here. A kind word has so much power and helps many. And you are right about taking breaks from social media and plants, too. When I am overwhelmed, I pull back and just pray. GOD bless you, Dave! RIP Michael!

I struggle with my mental health as well (started when I was 12). It breaks my heart when I find someone else is fighting the same battle as me & didn’t make it through. I’d only recently came across the planted eye thru your video and a few others who collabed with him. My heart goes out to him & his family. 💔
I’d want to be filthy rich only because I’d have the funds to truly help black & indigenous people. Especially when it comes to legalities like the unjust murders that constantly get swept under the rug and being able to build our/their communities up. To provide the resources we’ve missed out on historically in order to succeed. ✊🏽

Thank you. Ok, so finally someone who dreams BIG, I was waiting for and answer like yours...because even though I don't want fifty rich problems, its a good thing to have rich POWER to change things. Dope answer.

I just put on my makeup when I watched your video. Your kinds words for Michael and you opening up about your mental health issues warmed my heart to tears. You're such a kind and brave hearted man. It's fitting you named your dog Soul because it takes loving , honest people like you to let the world know how alive and real we should live our lives. RIH Michael. I heard about his passing earlier this week and it broke my heart. He was such a good guy. Good message on burn out. That’s one of the main reasons I use self watering pots and Pon. It’s a lot easier to poor some water in a container than having to water soil

This breaks my heart, I had been subscribed to him for some time and didn’t think anything of it when he wasn’t uploading. A lot of people I watch take long breaks. He was so cool and passionate about his love of plants. I can relate to using my love of plants to fighting depression, but some times it just isn’t enough. We just keep going on the best we can and need to reach out for help if things get too heavy. God bless, stay strong. ❤

Thank you so much for today's video. I suffer from depression and am a creative person who is crazy about plants. There is so much guilt on days I think of letting go of my collection. I have been wanting to start a channel for some time now, but I realize it comes with the chance of more attacks on my mental health because of judgmental, selfish, and unkind people. You are strong, caring, and empathetic. I'm so happy I joined your channel. You have an awesome collection and a super cool vibe. I appreciate you so much for being vulnerable and speaking about mental health as you gave loving words about Michael. Keep your head up because today, your words helped someone in need (truthfully probably many needed to hear). Keep up the great work. I am proud of you. God bless you beautiful soul. 🙏💕

I am so sorry to hear about Michael. I followed him and really enjoyed his vids and I also appreciated seeing him quickly become comfortable and confident with his online presence.
I want you to know how appreciative I am of you for speaking about mental wellness and sharing your challenges. I agree wholeheartedly how important it is to understand the need to ask for help when you need it. To hear this message come from a Black man is what is needed. As a nurse and as a Black woman, I come across so many patients that have concerns about their mental well being. Many of them have concerns, especially Black men, have concerns that receiving treatment for their conditions will give them the appearance of seeming “crazy” or being weak. The research shows is that Black men that experience depression or anxiety are half as likely to seek help them their White counterparts. The truth is, asking for this type of help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Your message is timely and well received. The stigma associated with mental health needs to be ended. I wish you wellness, health, and happiness in your life.

Sorry to hear about your friend! He just popped up in my suggestions feed last week! I am saddened and shocked. I think having ups and downs is human. I highly recommend dialectic behavioral therapy (especially mindfulness and distress tolerance), for me talk therapy wasn’t enough. Thank you for your transparency. I think it’s important to normalize mental health and substance use disorders and just being human!

Dave thank you for acknowledging Michael. I watched him a few times and truly liked his content, I'm sorry I didn't watch him more, it's painful when good people leaves us too soon. I feel you on the plant burn out. There was a plant I wanted for over a year and it came in to the Home Depot (Florida green), I was not excited about that Plant at all, as a matter of fact I went to the depot and didn't even buy the plant, I was thinking what is going on with me. I use my plant to distress especially if I have a bad day at work or have a lot on my mind.

Hello and thank you for such a wonderful and transparent tribute! I'm new to the plant community and by joining groups, subscribing and watching video's I now realize that the PLANT MENTAL BURN OUT is real! This has taught me how to pace myself when it comes to purchasing plants (I'm not ready for those bad predators 😩). Oh I'm Grateful for a super comfortable bank account AKA Comfortably Rich😉

Thanks for this video and for sharing about Michael. I've watched him before and commented - he was very knowledgeable about plants. I just threw away 4 really nice plants due to pests. I wish I had watched your video before I did because it sounds like I could have saved a piece of each and just threw the rest away. I'll know for next time...thanks for that tip!

PS: I grow all of my hoyas in drainless, glass vessels (Dollar Tree) and they have been thriving. Losing plants to pests, root rot etc was driving me crazy and it's very costly. I have no problem with this method. I have more peace of mind.

Then you for the plant burnout tips. I will definitely try them. I currently have spider mites. I'm over it and the plants at this point.
I just want enough money so that I can live in a simple house, have a safe car to drive and not worry about rent or repair costs. I really don't need any more than that. I don't care for traveling or anything fancy. Maybe rich enough to have a personal chef. Lol.

I just lost a friend I went to school with. There have been many dark days since. Then there are all the other crap that's happened to you. One that has stood the test of time was the memory of being abused when I wasn't three years old by the guy who would later murder a school friend of mine because she refused to have sex with him. He was a true psychopath. I won't mention what he did to animals.
My family was completely dysfunctional because my mother was mentally below par, way below par. My brother suffered in his way and my sister in her way. A friend just asked me, "How did you turn out so well?". Then there was my father; an abusive coward who would sit in silence, sometimes for days thinking of how he could punish us in a way that would cause us the most emotional damage. I became a psychologist in addition to being a horse dentist just to learn how to deal with my feelings and not become the victim.
As for the haters, Dave, no matter who they are or what they got, somebody, somewhere is sick of all their shit...

Dave Dave Dave…wow what a powerful informational fun and insightful video!
    1st,
R.I.P. Mike, another good sole whose job here on earth was done and taken to sit at the Right side of God! Death is hardest for “us” living…everyday do the right thing…you never know when it’s your last!
    2nd,
Dave you are fine! You have a beautiful sole. Don’t over analyze yourself.
Society (as we have chosen) has made us ALL to think and be alike…and we are NOT, we are ALL different and we need to learn to accept and respect an individual for who they are. We ALL “walk in different shoes” we need to teach…NOT to judge another but to use good judgement.
We don’t need to like everyone, I don’t, some I can’t stand and that’s ok, frankly I don’t care, I will always be respectful, just don’t be an ASS and/or disrespectful…NOW we have a problem, I’m a ♈️, I’ll headbutt you off my mountain!…Really, I live on a mountain in Wva. I live an hr away from the closest city! There is a sign in my cabin that says…”I want to be where the people aren’t” 😁
I live here with my blue staffie, Sampson and my 200+plants lovin life not having to deal with the BS of society. At my age 60+, the world is now “yours” I pray for “our” children.
NOW…on a PLANTY note your videos are great and I’m always looking forward to seeing the next one!!
I might not always comment, but I do give it a “thumbs-up”👍
Whooooo, now for the final note…I’m blessed with “Riches” , I live in a happy home (plants in every room🥹), have my health, have food on the table and the best fam in the world! To me I’m beyond mega rich…I’m blessed 😇

I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of Michael, Heaven has gained a beautiful soul, and I can imagine him in his own garden of eden full of all the plants he loved. Sending my prayers to his family and friends. I think he would be proud of your tribute. As for plants and mental health, it is quickly becoming apparent just how many people have a connection with plants and plant care to help them get through the challenges of living with MH illness. I have Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, ADD and OCD, and find that plants help me to pace myself, keep me grounded and keep me in the right headspace. Plants are a full-on distraction technique that actually works. When they say "The power of plants" they are 100% correct! As for your challenges, just remember that you have a lot of love and support from your content creator friends and viewers. Stay strong buddy 💪💪💚💚BTW... that Red Anderson....😘

Our body sometime lack vitamen and it can affect mental health i been takingmy vitamins and it help me tremendously

    • @carmelwine7610
      @carmelwine7610 ปีที่แล้ว

This is so true and exactly what I was going to tell him. A quality B complex and Vitamin D supplement will make you feel like the lights have turned on. For me iron does need to be added to that list. I’m not sure for a man how much iron it would take to feel energetically and mentally better but I suggest the first and feel like a new person. I hope you get to feeling better. Meditation is the Key also.
