As someone who falls under the category of introvert (and someone who's also considered AuDHD), there are times where I still struggle to approach a random stranger with a conversation, especially at networking events where I seem to be the only voice actor in the room. I've been at it since this past Fall and while several people know me by name and face, I've felt more comfortable speaking with them then with someone I've never met before.
That’s entirely natural, Matt. I believe it is a muscle that can be grown with repetition and time. It’s a skill that can be developed, even in introverts and even in Neurodivergents. Keep at it. You’ll make yourself proud.
Great info Thanks Paul ,you had me laughing (nearly spat out my mouthful of coffee! at 8:47 with "This is a person in front of you,not a resume twist tied to a bag of money" Cheers great content as always:)
Thanks for the video! It's so nice to reinforce HUMAN CONNECTION -- and that it's okay to step out of your comfort zone if you're an introvert :) But also - bring an extrovert with you lol YES! *although, they can also become exhausting hahaha ***

"Focus on them, not on the room" ...so good! I've been guilty of this, but then had it happen to me, and have made a point to not let it happen again.
Thanks for your great tips! Looking forward to using them at my first VO conference, MAVO, this Fall and networking. Yay!
MAVO was my first conference. Love it. Enjoy!
