    it says on the can that this product is not for below the water line? why are you painting below the waterline?

    • @Frank7748124
      @Frank7748124 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because a dinghy does not live in the water. It is only below the waterline for brief periods; which is okay for this application.

    That's very nice.
    Can you feed this paint (and primer) into an airbrush pistol ? Or you have to use the roller ?

    Great video will this polyurethane work on aluminum boats also?

    I just tried to lay down the poly primer with foam and nylon roller covers, and it failed miserably. I ended up using a brush, but it didn't lay down at all. I followed the instructions thinned at 5% to no avail.

    Why not spray it?

    Can I use a two component epoxy filler in between the sanding and the final finish coat? I have some little pits and scratches that didn’t get filled with paint, I want to fill them after sanding the primer coat.

    How much paint do you load the brush with for tipping?

  • @drewthompson7457

    I've heard that 2 part paint is no longer availablr in Canada. Is this true for your product? I haven't used your paint yet, but your varnish is my first choice.

    Does the thinner help in the self-leveling? What about buffing the final product to get a glass finish?

  • @carlos92fs87

    dumb question but how do you measure 7 percent of paint thinner

    how is the poly urethane strength wise compared to the epifanes mon urethane? I have my boat in the epifanes mono urethane for a number of years now, but it can scratch pretty easy in my opinion. It also developed some cracks in the paint now after i think 5 years of it being on. So i was thinking maybe the poly urethane wil stay on longer? It is a steel boat, so i want the paint to cover it as good as it can because i dont want rust on it.

    I'm interested in this for a small carbonfiber hull. Can you get glass like finishes with wet sanding and buffing after two coats of color?

    So, if there is a repair to do on this later, how easy is it to patch a repair in and does it blend nice or can you not do that?

    Never use bare cardboard for mixing. The surface will soak up components from either component and therefore corrupt your mixture. Put some masking tape on the cardboard first.

    • @crunchycrispybacon
      @crunchycrispybacon 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      bullshit, it doens't absorb enough to make any noticeable difference. The mixture doesn't need to be perfect down to the last atom.

    • @epifanesn.a.1895
      @epifanesn.a.1895  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      We discovered that our Epifanes Poly-urethane has such a good self-leveling characteristic, that we can achieve mirror-like finishes with rolling alone. Check out our Instagram page for some great examples - in particular the '57 Chevy panel delivery truck. That was rolled-only, too. (We also use a fine foam "Moltopren" roller, which also plays an important part.)

    Why couldn't I use this in a hydrostream Viking speedboat?

    • @epifanesn.a.1895
      @epifanesn.a.1895  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi David...no reason why not. One of the benefits of rolling (no tipping required) is that you wind up with measurably more mil per coat. In other words, more paint gets onto the surface, which enhances the paint job's durability. Let us know if you paint the Viking.

    If I buy your paints, I don't want to be locked into having to buy your high priced mystery cleaner/ solvent as well. I would like the choice of buying a generic cleaner such as Mineral spirits, Acetone, Xylene, etc. Hiding the chemicals in your proprietary cleaner only makes me mad as hell. This is a form of extortion that will steer me right away from all your products. Its a pity because your products are excellent. But I will NOT BE HELD HOSTAGE TO A GODDAMN SOLVENT!

    High schoolers could have done a better job at making this video. Plus I see that you don't bother to answer anybody's questions here in the comments. Maybe high schoolers would be a better choice than you people to do both.
