    Hey guys, here's my favorite car control tutorial so far, where we're focusing on dodge control off of the wall. Been wanting to do this one for years, so I'm very happy to get this one out!
    If you have any questions, ask away! I'll make sure to respond.

    • @Kevpert
      @Kevpert  ปีที่แล้ว +17

      These packs I made for dodge control were seriously my mechanical edge 4 years ago. It's honestly crazy where just GC3/SSL level has gone.
      And then you consider guys like Zen and Dark, who are literally bringing competitive freestyle type moves to the game... boggles the mind.

    How much time do you spend daily practicing? just curiosity

    • @Kevpert
      @Kevpert  ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Back when I was competing, I'd spend about 4 hrs a day playing. Usually, 60-90 minutes on mechanics, the same amount in ranked, and then we'd do an hour scrim.
      Once you get to a decent level, you might find your mechanical growth slows down. So some training starts to become less effective, like I don't see an improvement if I'm doing the same striking packs for 20 min each day. That's where experience comes in. You'll have little observations like that, and you can figure out what you need in that moment.

    I love your content around training, the more i practice mechanics i grow more and more aware of how painfully bad i am at setting myself up for these shots. As of right now, this pack feels very challenging and that is exactly what i was looking for, because my lack of control is reflected just like in real game scenarios, which motivates me to grind these kinds of routines. Anyway, excellent video quality as always. I just want to say that since the key is to diag flip + flip cancel, the "Dodge demonstration" of your #2 Video can help people figure out what to focus on in the Sideswipe drills.

    Not a fan - no matter WHAT I do, the ball bounces 45 degrees back into the middle of the pitch, and only 1 out of 5 max shots all together bounce properly the way they do in your video to get the proper setup. • @Kevpert
      @Kevpert  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No prob! Yes, I'm pretty much flip canceling on most, but you can delay the flip cancel to get different results. If you look at my "Air Dribbles & Flip Resets" car control video, it talks a little bit about developing dodge control on the pillard maps.
      Really, the secret sauce is to flip cancel (pull the stick down) when your nose is pointing up, that way you can air dribble after your dodge.

    I'm in diamond/champ and i struggle with doing this only on my 2nd day tho. I've setup the bakes mod timer and I'm doing around 2 hours practice. Practicing air roll left and right for 10 minutes each on an obstacle course then 5 minutes each on rings with 350 gravity.
    Then I'm doing this dodge control for 25 minutes 5 minutes for each method. Then I'm doing about 20 minutes for practicing air dribbles from your tutorial using pillars. After that I do 20 minutes of recoveries in hoops using ur tutorial again. Finally i practice doing speedflips for as long as i can bare because i find that extremely boring.
    Basically just watched all ur videos and used ur training plan for car control and added recoveries and speedflip training to my plan. Please let me know if this is too much practice. I know I'm trying to learn lots of mechanics at once but for me i really struggle with my solo plays I'm better at shooting than i am at setting up the shots for my teammate by beating ppl in the air etc. I hope this makes me more of a carry type player than i am right now.
    This change of playstyle was inspired by apparently jack who says you shouldn't settle for being a player who's happy to sit back and be the anchor you should be the one making things happen if you want to be the best at this game.

    A weird thing these videos have taught me is not to be so rigid about going in and changing settings and bindings. I realized that I was lazy about even things such as navigating to the workshop and downloading a new map. It's a weird type of entropy to overcome, changing around bindings for each type of targeted training.

      I hadn't seen anything like this over the years - long overdue! I have like 5-7 more packs on this too, so this playlist will have several updates.

    Btw does anyone know what decal he has equipped on the fennec at 7:15? Maybe an alpha console decal?

    • @Kevpert
      @Kevpert  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, I just ripped the BDS decal, changed the colors in gimp, and use it in AlphaConsole.

    maybe it's just me, but i personally think ranked is better than doing custom training these days. greater variety of situations + defenders

    • @Kevpert
      @Kevpert  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm with you on that. But that's really for high-level/complete players only, when you have a deep bag of mechanics to choose from, and can solve most situations.

      @@Kevpert what would you consider high level? Personally, I would say top 50/2150+

    • @Kevpert
      @Kevpert  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kizvy I wouldn't even go that high. You said you're 1900-2000 right? That's already at that level IMO.
      Don't need much mechanical practice at that level since you should be able to do everything. If you want to work on a few things here and there, you can do that too.
