I am surprised. Never seen this so far. My accept rate is like yours 15-16% now. I'll be lucky if it reaches 20%. I reject all the no tip orders just like you cuz I need to make money and ain't going to loose money. If DoorDash is so focused on the no tip people to get their food, DoorDash needs to make it a better priority to make the no tipping people tip. On Uber Eats, I noticed they have a different page on check out of where you tip before check out. DoorDash doesn't have that. It's almost like DoorDash just doesn't give a hoot about tipping for drivers. Also I never understood why DoorDash has scheduling. I think if you want to go on you should be able to at any time just like on the other delivery apps. Lastly, there is a glitch in the app I've noticed....sometimes I can see the name of the person ordering the food before rejecting it. It's weird. Usually you just see name when you accept it. Now the case here.
Question for you... How do you know it's a NO TIP ORDER... Is their a base pay? I stopped DD 15 months ago was tired of being sent out of zone deliveries. Ever since I have been doing GH and work 5 hrs.' a day and pulling $1200 a week consistently. Wouldnt mind doing DD together with GH, but dont know how figure out what a no tip delivery looks like. Thx
@@marconica_5052 Look at the miles and then look at the pay. I skip anything below $7.50. Usually always below that is no tip. DoorDash doesn't tell you the whole amount you will get when the order pops up on your phone. Sometimes they hide all the amount. For why DoorDash does that, is idiotic and dumb. How do you know if you are getting a tip on GrubHub?
For my area I was topdasher by accident I hit 70% this was 2021 Dec 1st. I will agree and disagree with you. When I was a top dasher I received amazing orders for most of the day. Even decent ones at 2-5pm. I was able to make $220-280 almost any day of the week working 8-11 hours. Now I feel the market is too saturated with drivers. Now I work closer to the inner part of my city and work Ubereats as well to survive. I’d say I make $190-$260 a day. I’m not a top dasher, I still get usually 1-2 catering orders a day and don’t fit the profile at all to get catering orders, but have the bag.
Yes sir I do the same I'm a top dasher but I do work my ass off on top of my 40 hour a week full-time job is the only benefit is I'm able to dash anytime it's a catch 22 tho
🦋😊🦋As an almost everyday customer that has never ordered less than $ 40.00, and never tipped less than $20.00. Anyone who has their food delivered right to them should be grateful enough to tip at least $15.00, no matter the cost of their order. Thankyou for doing what you do, my husband and I are both up there in age and limited on what we can do. So I definitely appreciate what you do. 🦋😊🦋
I agree with others!! I do my best when I have an order and try to deliver faster not only for the customer knowing they want their order fast time is money
$10 for a shop and deliver, 1.5 miles. 21 items, including a case of water & a gallon of milk. Third floor apartment. Two trips to bring everything up. Knocked on the door she looked at me and could barely say thank you. She was maybe 30 y/o. No tip. So unfortunately from now on when I get an order, I have to accept wait till I get to the store see what the items are and then unassign when I see it is for someone who doesn’t care about their fellow humans.
I have gotten multiple $1.00 tips 😢 it's annoying! I have gotten no tips. But for the first time since I started dash, I received a $32 tip from a customer (spread out) it was like $7 and some change, $20 cash tip at delivery and then a $5 tip added to my dash after delivery. I was shocked and super grateful! Its hard to find tips over $8. 😢
At 83% acceptance, I'm a top Dasher, well, I keep making the effort to stay in the top, BUT, that was until End of February when a rude and unsatisfied costumer decided to report his missing fries from McDonald's, as "Order was never delivered" which upset me enough after talking to DD support, who didn't help me, just told me: "Don't worry, you need 3 strikes to get deactivated, so keep dashing" To what I explained: I don't want wait for the 3rd strike when I'm not suppose to have the 1st one, so until they remove the fault off my account, I'll continue to be a none active top dasher!
I honestly can’t understand ‘no tip’ orders. Seriously???? There are STILL people out there who don’t tip??? Dashers use their own cars, and their own gas. And, in my eyes, don’t make enough to pay for upkeep AND gas AND bills!!! I absolutely NEVER give less than 18%… normally 18% to 20%. And my orders are rarely under $100. I make SURE my driver makes at LEAST $18.00 to deliver my food. Sometimes, I order from two different places (like when I get a desire for Starbucks, along with my food.) And I STILL make sure my driver gets no less than 20%. (My Starbucks orders never run less than $50.) That’s $10, but I’ll throw in a few extra bucks, just to make it worth their while. And I pay it happily, because I don’t have to leave and get it, myself!!! I don’t blame this young lady for not taking orders that tip. Seriously, there are a LOT of cheap people in this world. And if you can’t tip… get off your dead A$$ and pick it up yourself!!! And yeah… the delivery costs, fees, and jacked up prices of food is quite a lot. (If you buy it in the restaurant, the food costs less… I get it.) But it’s a CONVENIENCE!!! And the driver doesn’t get all that money… just a small pittance. You people who don’t tip… shame on you!!! Stop taking your cheapskate ways out on the driver!!!
I haven’t used DoorDash I a few years but I used to pay cash tips. At the time I didn’t consider the perspective of the dasher or what information they were going by. Back in the day before smart phones & apps like this we used to pay pizza delivery drivers cash tips 😬🤷🏽♂️
@@timmusician5060 a pizza place only delivers within a few mile radius. Dashers go anywhere from 0-30+ miles away. Most people don’t realize how far something is away and how that’s impacting the suggested tip. They tip based on what they paid as if the food was coming from around the corner, or being served to them in a restaurant. If it’s not over $1/mile. Most dashers won’t touch it. We can’t afford to play games with our earnings. 99% of my deliveries are “leave at door” since Covid. People use the minimal interaction as a way to get out of tipping.
All of these new incentives from food apps are trying to get u to take no tip orders. company gets their $, cx gets their food. driver gets nothing. I have always dashed now
Lately I’ve been getting missions on Grub Hub. There have been a few orders that I would have rather not taken. The money lost on those usual auto declines was less than the mission pay however.
If door trash really cares for there drivers they would include the tip for us in the bill as u can see they don't .most restaurants include a tip with the bill cruise ships used to allow to to tip so I tiped the person who made my bed and the guy who served me every night at my dinner table .the they say that's not enough now they want an extra 200 for tipping there whole crew ripping off the customers and making them pay there employees and not them ad they make there money screwing out there help and ripping off the customers the blame is in the employer not the employees or the customers it's the employer who set the rates not the customers and the employer can fix this into the bill but, they don't u now see who's to blame
The old school days Bentley coop said u basically beg a customer for a 5 star rating then he says step back from them and thank them then he says put this in a text to I would appreciate u giving me a 5 star rating .only thing this does is make the customer give u a low rating they think it's funny the younger ones giving u a low rating . So do the best u can do and don't beg let the homeless do this I seen them beg right in front of a restaurant wanting help that I call funny 🤣
Just remember door trash COULD change this by including ur tip on the bill but they don't the blame hear is door trash 🗑️ and there stupid games .just multi app if u didn't multi app u be waiting all day long for a decent offer 😜 in my market door trash isn't the hero of the day Uber eats is and one day just one day grub hub was the hero grub hub don't go off it it's hard to get blocks so I don't Evan try to get blocks from them I just open it up each day and they do give u jobs
I started dashing a week ago, they gave me top dasher after my 2nd delivery. Im not going to keep my acceptance rate up. Side note: dont get caught accepting double orders thinking it is 1 order. I took 2 orders to the hood, both no tip. I was cussing like crazy lol
Signed up for DD 4 days ago, got approved 2 days ago, spend yesterday watching the app and my surrounding areas to gauge business. I have completed 0 orders and this morning I logged in and saw that I had been awarded the Top Dasher status for my awesome service thus far. LOL
Sara, it's interesting that you brought this up. Apparently, I somehow "Reset my Acceptance" (I did a few months ago, but not recently), was given "High priority" all of a sudden about a week ago, and DD thinks I'm gonna maintain a high AR for that reason. Silly DD. I'm still cherry-picking and multi-apping.
I had that same thing offered to me but they never did reset my acceptance rate. :( They did give me "high Value" dashes though although many were not what I call "high Value". But the whole time I had it I kept saying to myself "there is no way I will be able to have an acceptance rate of 50% with orders like these. They also gave me a"high Value" orders like 2 miles for 4 dollars WOW THAT'S HIGH VALUE!!! lol High-Value orders were supposed to be 2.00 a mile but within a week it went down to 1.50 a mile. My point is there is no I would ever have an acceptance rate of 50% NO WAYS! And they never did reset my rate anyways :( So I couldn't even try if I wanted. my current rate is like 24%
As a knew dasher I appreciate your honesty about the app, I definitely fell for the top dasher scam, I kept accepting 2 dollars orders because I was afraid of lowering my acceptance rate. I was always frustrated why I never received orders over 10 dollars, the highest I've ever accepted so far. Is 8 dollars... it doesn't even feel worth it to me. Very saddening.
i dash in canada and our base dasher pay is 4-5 dollers most of my orders are $7.50 or more i asways go by atleast 1.25 per km my aceptance rate is 80% i will take a 5.00 order if it is going 2 km or less
It depends if your in a Diamond zone I always cherry picked I’ve been a dasher for few years as well and now I’m a top dasher I didn’t do the top dasher for the dash now the 70% acceptance gives you priority to highest paying orders and I’m making more money then I was cherry picking I do Uber as well but it does actually give you better pay I never thought it would but I tried it and it’s a lot better but maybe since my market is different I’m in LA Area
I was a delivery driver back before smart phones. 😂 I worked for a company called doorbell dining. We had a dispatch office who took down orders over the phone, called the restaurant, then sent the orders to us on old school analog cell phones that had like 5 lines of text. Those old black & grey screened Nokia phones. 😂 we had no GPS. Dispatch texted us written directions.
That’s crazy. You would have to manually map out the directions on Google maps or something. Jesus. That sounds like a headache. Technology truly came a long way. I’m age 25 and I do this as a side gig but wow. That must’ve been a pain. 😅😮
@@RelentlesslVback then there was no Google Maps. Mapquest launched in ‘96 but many people didn’t use computers much then. We travelled with folding maps.
They threw you a bone and you're like nah, I'ma take that personally lol. All jokes aside it's great quality content and I love you informing the public 🙏
I am new to this and have been watching video after video. Was so stressed about keeping my acceptance rate above 70% because I thought I would lose all the good orders. Now seeing a lot of dashers in the teens makes me feel better for turning down orders. I watched your other video and it happened to me just last night at chipotle where the restaurant employees told me another dasher took the food already. I let customer support know right away and they unassigned me. I hope if the person didn’t get there order they complain to DoorDash and they look into the driver who took that order. I wonder what they do in those situations. What makes me angry is they send me the same order that I just declined so I decline it again and now that 2 dings. Ugh 😣
I had an offer for a tractor company I declined it so then the same offer came up again I took it this time .I was thinking about taking it it was only a 40 pound bag of dog food wasn't that bad of miles and the pay was 13 dollars it was around my hood so it was ok
You’re an independent contractor - they cannot tell you to take any orders. They cannot deactivate you for declining orders. And if you get the little, we’re gonna pause you because you declined too many orders just look at the very bottom and you can continue dashing. Only be concerned with delivering food on time.
@@SuperDubess yea I got paused last night cause they kept sending me dumbass orders so they paused me. I just clicked continue and it let me lol 😝 the stupid little games they play is ridiculous
I would rather have a dasher accept my order because they are picky than accept my order cause it is there. The pickier dashers seem to take more care with deliveries. I have had dashers who don't care about the orders/tips leave my stuff at weird locations. I live in a condo/townhouse complex situation and because my address location does not make logical sense I have had neighbors from three buildings down be like " I think this is yours, I didn't order food"
@@bobg3221 that's the sad thing I tip really well. We think the builder was on crack when he numbered this place even EMS gets lost here. A realtor came to my door cause "115 is for sale but there is not a lock box do i know the owners to call em?" the O.O, when I told them that it was the other 115 that was for sale and pointed to a building 3 down and across the road from us.... yup 2 115's less than 400 feet from each other
I got given top dasher without ever making a delivery. My first night was a 3.00 incentive and I kept getting great orders I made 90 bucks in 2 hours while driving very few miles.
Hey Lady . I , of course , have often been wary of messages as such .Simply because I don't trust anything until it has been proven to be correct . Whether you did have a good month or ( say ) it could be an early Christmas present ! Maybe it's just a way to say " thank you " . For " you being you " . Apparently it's gonna' be just another " mystery in life " so on that note . I hope all are well .
I started 3 days ago and just today as I was getting off shift I get a text saying, congratulations you are a top dasher because of your January dashes. It says I can now dash anytime without scheduling so we will see tomorrow. I'm currently a 69% acceptance & dropping everyday. The score only rises if I accept, no tip and long distance dashes. I'm in Alaska and its only daylight from 11am-5pm a day until summer and everyone drives around with brite LED lights on so I dash for 6 hours a day. I'm constantly waiting 10 minutes while parked in the RED areas waiting for the application to find anything and when it does it's always, 10 more minutes or drive 11 mile for $7.50 or 8 miles for $4. I'm filling my tank just about every day to top it off and after expenses $25/ day. I did 104 miles in 6 hours yesterday and only made $80. $55 went to gas.
The same thing happen to me. You won't be able to keep it with that acceptance rate. They're showing you what you could get if you raised that acceptance rate. I've started recording for my tips & tricks so I can help everyone in 2023 Uploading soon. Thanks for your insight
I always see Dash Now as long as it's busy enough. I'm selective and not a Top Dasher. But it doesn't matter anymore. I was deactivated Monday for "fraudulent activity", and my appeal was declined Thursday saying I had a "violation". I've been dashing for over a year and delivering for over 4 years. Finally, someone in customer service told me that a customer didn't receive their delivery. I don't steal. And I'm very careful about delivering to the correct house number. I think someone's just trying to get free food.
Always take photos on your own showing address! I have been getting a Lot of " Hand it to me" then message is " Leave at my door". They do this to Get the order Free! No photo option with Hand it to me! Take a Photo and Message them with it right before you hit Completed. Save you in the long run
Doordash just dumb same happened to me last month dashing for 2 years. I heard a story saying they tryna Crack down on dashers. I got ubereats and grubhub don't care they could go to hell. If you wanna resign up you could just get a new phone number and zip code.
So I began dashing in March, 3 weeks later, April 1st, I made Top Dasher. I have been Top Dasher each month since. My ratings are 4.95, 100%, 100% and 98%( on time) . I LOVE that I can dash whenever and wherever I want. I am in the Diamond Program, Pizza, Catering, and Shop and Deliver. I easily make $40+ an hour. Smaller Beach Towns (100,000 ppl) are where I live and deliver. I have never even seen those under $4 orders that many show, I don't get them here. I know not every market is the same, but Being TD has Certainly been Extremely Worth it for me! I know other dashers in my area who are Not Top Dashers and they struggle to make $20 an hour. In California , we also get a Top off pay once a week, which for me is sometimes $100+ .
I'm currently not a Top Dasher but I'll say this, there's a zone in my market where if I exclusively worked a couple areas in that zone, I could maintain a high AR without taking a bunch of 💩 orders. Only drawback with that zone is that it's not as busy as the surrounding zones. Location that you work absolutely matters.
Doordash handed me "Top Dasher" status (and I agree with you, it's a total joke) - My numbers are great though . . .99% completion rate (was at 100, but I misplaced my wallet and had to unassign an order) I have 100 "5 stars" nothing less, only 5 stars, 81% acceptance rate, 95% early or on time and since I have been put in the top dasher category, I only get crappy orders, all shopping orders or lowball orders. It's like when they give you a promotion at an hourly job, expecting the "new shiny title" for .50 more an hour with double the workload to excite you and make you work hard . . .It's just a way to try and play you. It's very disappointing . . .I don't see doordash lasting more than a year or more. Even right now . . .Sundays are always busy and all other areas around me are busy, but my area is supposedly dead. I have had the app on for 20 minutes now and have received nothing. It seems like they are trying to punish me for some reason and are using the algorithms to block me out.
The only benefit to Top Dasher is you can Dash Now and your mom may or may not be proud of you. It doesn't give you any priority, for that you need the acceptance rate of 50% or 70%. Like everything with these apps, it is very dependent on your market if that will be useful to you or not. A high paying order pays $2 or more per mile....you will get a lot of $4 for 2 miles. I was a cherry picker for four years, but I am giving this a try, I am still on the fence. At this point, I think DD just pays you the average of your market no matter what you do or don't take.
It just goes to show that when you are dishonest and manipulative with people, even when you give them a compliment, they aren't grateful. That being said, I think I'd rather a computer lie to me than suffer the indignity of experiencing my boss and mentor lie to me. ESPECIALLY if I have to then be dishonest too by pretending that I haven't figured out his lies. I'm working my way up to dashing full time. I'm looking forward to quitting my job where my boss lies to me every day and get to a place where it's just the phone that lie's to me. To me, it's much easier to not be disappointed when it's just a piece of machinery is doing the lying.
Do not rely on doordash as your sole source of income. That is a foolish thing to do. God forbid your car breaks down or you get into an accident and can't afford another one. Doordash should only be used as a form of supplemental income.
@@AK-47ISTHEWAY You know, I appreciate the warning. I am concerned about this, and it is difficult to figure out exactly how difficult it is out there to make a living I guess I'm bold enough to try because I actually plan to live in my vehicle and I have no wife, kids or debts. My plan is to walk off homeless with a backpack if my car breaks down and it has to be in the shop for a while. My hope is that if I save up enough money in my savings account, I would be able to weather any setbacks. My goal is to have total freedom.
At the end of day, if you're a regular Dasher, most people make $21 to $23 an hour, no matter what dd gives you, IF you take good orders. (Equal $=Equal miles or if mileage is is less than the $ amount) Example: take an order going 2 miles or less for $3 up. 4 miles or less for $4 up It is computerized. They tell us before we sign up how much an average driver makes
Happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I'm usually giving rides instead of delivering food. I tried it but I didn't see much difference in orders even though I could dash now.
DoorDash and Uber eats are both trying to take advantage of people by underpaying them. what I’m doing now is just taking orders that are short trip locally now .before I used to take long trips and they were still pay me to $2 to $3 dollars fare plus tips which means that they’re keeping 80% of the fare and only giving me 20%. We all have to stand up together and not accept small fares and now I see my fares going up finally while taking short trips I’m not gonna take any long trips anymoreAnd put high mileage on my car for 2 to 3 dollars fare
I'm not even worried about being top dasher or being in the 💎 program because Thursday December 8th I joined UberEATS and this morning I got myself on the wait list for GrubHub. Don't concern yourself with company antics act like the independent contractors we are and decline what you don't want to take.
After resetting my acceptance rate i've had top dasher qualifying ratings for a few weeks. The orders were mostly good...but I never received that message about being a top dasher. Then I had some issues... lost my red card...and car problems that caused me to either decline a few orders or unassign in the case of my car having mechanical problems to where I just couldn't deliver 2 stacked orders I had accepted. My acceptance rating went below 70 %. So it's a loose loose situation. Now I'm getting long distance low pay and zero tip orders...causing my acceptance rate to go even lower....Never mind that for weeks I was hussling working up to 10 hour days... It just go to show that they don't value hard working drivers.
Within 5 days after I started door dash I was considered a top dasher. Seemed to easy. I’m an experienced driver from Uber eats, so I’m used to the algorithm games. I wait for the $10 orders with a distance of 3 miles.
I'm pretty upset bc all my numbers are good, my AR is 88% and I did not make top dasher for some reason. I just checked my phone and it says 'schedule'. I worked really hard to get all those deliveries done and I'm still stuck scheduling? It's not right.
I worked on pandemic,I work on worst snow storms , I work on Halloween,Thanksgiving ,Christmas ,new year, I work on coldest and hottest day ,I was the cherry picker and one of best dasher on my town in long island ,ny, since two weeks doordash is not giving me any offer or keep sending me very bad garbage orders ,even the rush hours on Friday Saturday night cuz of my low AR, while 50 percent of the dasher using fake accaunt that buy_rent on internet ,who cross the border by walking , and today I had to work for doordash took the all the orders they send , my acceptance rate went up to 46 ,guess what ? Stuck on that , while my costumer ratings went up 4,98 from 4,80 in just 12 hours , looks like this company is earning but in the long term they about loose cuz threaten customers and drivers like this ,
I was given top dasher for a couple weeks at the end of November for no particular reason. I don't do 100 orders a month, my acceptance rate is around 30% Then one day it disappeared
Same!! I got top dasher after my first dash! It allows you to dash now anytime which us HUGE in my rural area I killed it the first two weeks then one day bam! Not top-dasher anymore. Customer support was NO help. First confirmed I was ...then next tech said no I wasnt needed to do 200 dashes..
Great video as always, I wonder if over time while you have it, you'll see a difference in how much you make? For me, without top dasher (DD screwed me over this month even though I had the stats) I've noticed that the map is showing gray more than ever before. I've also noticed that when it's slower, I don't get as much orders. I work mainly the lunch shift and maybe into dinner, but I can make $200 in 6 hours usually with this shift. Now it's been $120. Of course, maybe it's getting slower because of Christmas expenses and inflation, but last year December was crazy busy all the time.
@@juliusstriker4465 I believe they didn't count the acceptance rate I had until after 12pm on the 1st of December. My rating was at 70% the morning of, but I took some orders and got it to 66% in the afternoon. They're supposed to count what your stats are at of what you had at midnight of the last day of the month. So I lost top dasher and I contested it but they said I needed proof and I got screwed. Morale of the story is, don't let your stats go down until you receive the notification that you got top dasher. Record the screen on your phone showing the date and then going into the app and showing your stats, both for the last day of the month and the 1st day of the month for back up evidence.
@@chrish7308 this happened exactly to a fellow dasher of mine in Sacramento. He even had screen shots from 930 pm on 11/30 (when he stopped dashing) but doordash STILL didn't fix their error. What state do you dash in?

The only thing top dasher does is let you dash anytime without scheduling. Unless your ar is over 50% which i would actually say over 70% cause then you get the diamond orders your not getting high paying orders. Just cause they made you top dasher doesnt mean your going to get high paying orders with a low ar.
hey everyone, idk if this is just a glitch or something but letting the timer run out instead of declining doesnt go against my AR apparently. i raised my AR from 6% to 25% in one day by doing that. so.. if you wanna keep cherry picking and also have a good AR for “better orders”, try that. when i noticed that my AR wasnt going down if the timer ran out, i tested it for the rest of the day and sure enough, i was able to raise it by simply doing that.
I have only been dashing for three days now, but when I first started, BEFORE I HAD COMPLETED ANY ORDER OR DONE ANYTHING AT ALL, I got the top dasher message. It makes no sense!!!
As far as I heard from dd support a dasher has to have atleast 95% completion rate, over 1000 delivery, and acceptance rate has to be over 70%. Then you have to have 100 delivery in a week, and atleast 8.5 average customer rating. Now that's difficult as hell to accomplish every week!
You could choose to fix your acceptance rate whenever. Keep in mind it is a rolling 100 average, meaning scores older than the oldest 100th are discarded whenever you get a new score. So it doesn’t matter if you rejected 1000 offers over 3 years, you could still fix it within 100 orders and bring it up to 100% if you accepted all 100.
YES, ACCEPTANCE RATE MATTERS on DoorDash! I'm tired of seeing videos of "Top Dashers" saying they are NOT getting any good orders and that Acceptance Rate doesn't matter. Maybe the Acceptance Rate didn't matter a year ago, but now, everything has changed. If you don't believe me, you should let your AR drop down below 50% and you'll realize that you're going to get lousy orders, but worst, you will go a long period without getting any new order while you're Dashing. It seemed like DoorDash created an algorithm to eliminate cherry-pickers and to incentivize Dashers to take more orders. I saw this pattern when my AR was below 50% and I had to start taking bad orders to bring it back up. I let my AR dropped because I saw a lot of Dashers on TH-cam saying they decline all the no-tip orders and cherry-pick only the best orders, and that their AR doesn't matter. But once I got my AR back up over 70%, the orders were more better. The High-Priority Orders were created for a reason.
I drove in my account and a friend account and I promise you, the acceptance rate DOES NOT MATTER! They will claim it does but no it doesn’t! As a top dasher on my account I still see $2.50 multiple times a day! His acceptance rate was 23% when last week and he was getting amazing orders. We bust them out in between Walmart Spark. AR doesn’t matter!
@@FreeSpiritMom Where are you DoorDashing? Small town Ohio? That’ll only happen if there aren’t enough Dashers in your area. Most big-name cities with a high number of Dashers in hot zone, the Top Dashers with the highest AR will get “first orders” in their respective hot-zone range. That is the point I’m making.
@@dantaboo I’ve doordashed all over in major cities, small towns, places with just a Walmart pickup. My friend and I tested this particular theory out in metro-Atlanta cities. I live in my car so I’ve dashed all over. I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree because from my experimenting, it doesn’t matter. Sometimes you just luck up.
@@dantaboo actually we do agree on something, you said first orders. That may very well be true but I rather wait 20 minutes for a high paying order than continuously getting $2.50 orders lol
@@FreeSpiritMom Agreed, no one want to take a low-paying, no-tip order, they suck. I was declining a lot of them for a while and waiting for better ones. But the problem is, I started waiting too long for the next order. 20 mins isn't too bad but I was going an hour or sometimes longer without an order when the area was busy. Going an hour or two without an order is losing time and money. So that's why I think first orders, even crappy ones, are very crucial, but you have an interesting point about getting constant orders, despite your low AR, so that's a good thing.
I accepted a no tip order yesterday that was for $8.00 base pay for about 3 miles so that ish was definitely sitting there for a minute lol. I think the no tippers know they will get their order eventually over an hour or more after they order it to save money, so they just order earlier.
I also received Top Dasher mid-month--my acceptance is nowhere near 70%. However, the message I received said that I was being given this because I "completed at least 10 shop and deliver orders last week." They said to complete at least 10 more this week to keep Dash Now for next week (and to have at least a 95% completion in the shops). The interesting thing is that I also received mixed messages like you. The text made it seem like it was a week-by-week thing but in the dasher app it says I have top dasher for the month of December. I already did 10 shop and deliver orders this week so I will see if they send me another message at the beginning of next week. I have had top dasher once before and it was not worth it. I love the dash now though. It is great when you are in the wrong zone and you just want to stay there instead of driving back to your scheduled zone. Still not worth getting top dasher for this...
Hey Sara I'm doing the door dash application online. When they ask u to put your driver's license number is that a scam?? Just asking cuz I dont wanna make any mistakes.
OKay first time seeing this video. Being a tip dasher I do still get those low miles low pay orders I don't get alot of diamond orders.. I have been a top dasher for only 2 months. I see the message the 1st day of the next month. I might have been making more money before becoming a top dasher. I still get miles highr then money. I cant do those I need at least $1 per mile in my area. I won't dash when my area is grey.
It’s all in wording, they said they will give you top dasher perks for a short time, not actual top dasher, so you see what you get and try for top dasher, then they sent you get 50%, when you hit 50% they will say hit 75%. That’s a way to get people to work more, incentives. They know the more you make or do the more they make.
Dashing (delivering) through the snow is a game that has been around for 100 plus years… it is now more popular than ever and it is about as back and forth as a game of pickleball. It’s unfair. Makes your headspin. And I wonder how people scam this time of year. Remember to smile!
All of these opinions on TH-cam are market-dependent. I do NOT take no tip or low tip orders and my AR is at 85%. I’ve been dashing for 4 months now. This is the first time I’ve made top dasher. I’m stoked that I don’t have to schedule anymore! We’ll see how February goes!
I'm top dasher,if I go under 70% acceptance they take top dasher away from me,this is my full time job so it's important for me to stay top dasher for me to be able to go out certain hours.this is upsetting that door dash does this.i work hard, long hours for the little I make.i just don't understand how they pick and choose.
I figured out it was a scam when they let everyone reset the acceptance a couple months ago. I accidentally made top dasher for the first time last august. It literally gave me nothing except to drive when I wanted then let people reset to get higher paying orders why I go nada. So sad. So I stopped driving for them. That’s wack.
I Feel Like It Should Be Mandatory On All Food Delivery Apps That The Customer Tip At Least $5. It Shouldn't Let The Customer Complete Their Order Unless A Tip Is Added. If You Cant Tip A Person Using Their Own Car & Gas To Bring You Your Food, You Should Get It Yourself, However That Is.
I gave away free candy canes to my ubereats and doordash customers yesterday and the day before. Kind of wanted to see if my tip would increase if I did this.
Hey Sara, i’m not top dasher but I somehow got on the newer “High Paying Priority” program so I get those “Diamond Orders” now. Some of them actually end up paying very well but a lot of them are just OK paying orders I never got quite to 50% acceptance rating though. I was at 46% then I did one more order and my acceptance rating shot to 100%... so I was at 100% for just a few seconds LOL then they started blasting me with $2.50 orders so my acceptance rating quickly dropped into the 20s. I’m still getting the diamond orders until December 21. I think they ended top dasher in my area, but they called me a top dasher in a text yesterday. I’m definitely not one! 😜
I have watched at least one of your previous other videos, and to know that people are demanding to get paid more than a dollar a mile is ridiculous. I drive a semi for a company and I don’t get paid a dollar a mile and I still make good money being on the road for weeks or months on end coming in late to a truck stop or sitting all weekend or for several days not being able to drive anywhere to get food and now to find out that services like DoorDash and GrubHub drivers are being very picky with their orders is not only heartbreaking also disappointing and disgusting. I will no longer be using these apps or services .
Those possible low paying orders you get I call "positioning orders" the app will usually give you an order that will place you into an area a large order hit queue but isn't nearly ready yet.. the order after that order you get tends to be a very good order.. but that's just been my experience in a very busy market.
@Sara Elizabeth the key is to make sure wherever the drop off is on that positioning order that it actually is in a area with restaurants and such if it's bringing you to middle of nowhere then yes its probably a junk order.
Hello fellow Dasher here and cherry picker, my Acceptance rate is currently at 22 percent. With Uber its 11 percent. They are smoking crack if they want me to except a delivery with out a tip.
I got tired of the games these food apps were playing. They would punish me whenever I wouldn't accept crappy orders. I finally got approved to do Walmart Sparks and Instacart and I'm making so much more $$ with less mileage and less hours to work. Walmart Sparks has better incentives. In my area, Friday I received a $300 incentive with Walmart Spark... that's ontop of what I already pulled in for the week. Plus I enjoy it sooooo much more and they reward you for your hard work. They keep me busy. 🙂
I learned this a long time ago and started in 2021 in March. To be a top Dasher accept every single order thats low and high miles I make 150 for three days in 2022 In 2021 I used to make 300-400+ For the weekend earning 100+ per day in 3-6hrs Now it takes 8-12hrs just to make 60-100 NO '+' Dallas, Texas But I go everywhere
I was top dasher once bc I actually got 100 orders in one month, this is just my weekend job, and I met all of the other criteria but the 100 orders. I was told by door dash that top dasher just means you can dash anytime. I have a 90% acceptance rate or higher and I get top paying orders. I think that's what the difference is
I’m a top dasher for the nearly 16 months of dashing with past 2,900 deliveries with a 100% completion rate in California. I find that Doordash’s statement that we get top priority on higher paying orders is mostly not true. I call tech support on the issue and they repeat a lot about the phrase “system generated” as an excuse for the lower payouts due to non-tippers. I tell them that it should be system generated to separate high priority offers from all other offers otherwise the statement of “high priority” is misleading. They regularly stack or combine orders that are non-tippers a lot which I call them to keep them honest on disguising bad offers by combining them to create the image of a good order but you find out later that it is not true. I actually have gotten them to compensate for those cheap sake non-tippers with combo merchant orders but that takes the right kind of “premium” support agent to get action which is only 1 out of 10 agents. I do average around $25 per hour in the Southern California market and have some protection from Prop 22 that gets us about from 20 to 35% extra every week that makes Dashing worthwhile as side income. I average 20 to 30 hours per week dashing. Just explaining my 2 cents on what it is like being a top dasher. My acceptance rate bounces between 86 to 95%. DoorDash will try to dump a string of no -tipping offers to you. My threshold of declining is anything below $5 and more than 2 miles of driving. I will insist on low customer ratings given by low ball no -tippers to be removed and blocked. That sometimes works but not always. I have received compensation for great offers removed by DoorDash but it took me 2 months of constant follow up just to get that $19 plus dollars. It wasn’t the money at that point but the principle of the thing. Hope this helps 😊
It's quite simple. All of these delivery apps have one goal. To manipulate you into doing the most amount of work, for the least amount of money. Period
I signed up as a DoorDasher 3 days ago and got the "Top Dasher" reward...And I haven't completed my first order. Yesterday, I completed my first 2 orders. I check the app the next day, and I still have the "Top Dasher" reward available. 🤦🏿🤣🔝🏃
As with many things that are a everyday part of human life this is a gaslighting based business model. Just enough meat on the bone to keep moving and coming back in hopes for a better next time around mentality.
I got a similar thing I don't remember if i was top dasher but I got the dash now thing for while. And I live near Camden NJ so my acceptance rate can't ever be high even if I wanted bc every other order is to Camden that I can't accept
In my area I still get the high paying orders and I am a top dasher, so really I don't have any issues as a top dash and keeping my acceptance rate above 70 percent. The city community is thoughtful of tipping drivers most of the time.
I just joined door dash 2 days ago, did not accept my first 2 offers, and then got the "top dasher" notification saying i could dash any time... lol... before I even did my first delivery, before I had any ratings, literally! Maybe cuz I'm not in a heavily populated big city area? Idk but something def seems off with that
I think these drivers that Cherry pick their orders like this lady does should be fired or banned from using the app as an employee. This is a display of complete self entitlement.
Their is no such thing as a top dasher. That is why doordash offers it to its best rated dashers. I average a 4.95 rating so do I deserve top dasher privileges. ABSOLUTELY! I still cherry pick.
DD has a new perk. Reset my AR. I will get priority access to high paying orders as long as I keep AR at 50% or above and customer rating of 4.5 Hope this really works.
Lol I'm a top dasher in indy bc I'm still getting used to the app like I haven't figured out how to see if there's a tip or not b4 accepting the order or the distance of an order and since last week I haven't got dash now in a week besides this morning but I only got 1 order n I literally have to drive 30mins plus to get to an area where I can dash so for me none of its worth it to me bc I literally make gas money to replace what I used and in down town indy there's no where to park for dashers either n lots don't tip n 2 bucks aint worth it
I'm so confused.... My app has been letting me dash whenever I want for the last month since I first started. I am allowed to choose destinations and get dashes heading towards that direction, And can literally dash whenever I want. I'm noticing a lot of TH-cam's saying that this is a Privilege of some sort but I am used to it since that's all I know.... I think that old school dashers are getting screwed..... Im 4.3 stars, 155 dashes, 95% on time, 100% completion rate, 49% acceptance rate. 3 weeks in and made $1,300 so far.
I've been doing this for 2 months now and I have at least a 72. I finally getting enough deliveries but I did not get - now from doing 17 shop and pays because stores don't have items in stock and there's no substitute for some of these items so I don't get the 95% fill rate that gets you the dash now. This sucks
Yup I got randomly rewarded top dasher for this month too. I don’t even have 100 total deliveries yet. I started gig work back in November and DoorDash was my first app I got accepted too. Compared to other apps in my market DoorDash sucks. I make way more off Uber eats and Spark. I think them giving me too dasher was trying to retain me as a driver. Not to mention I’m a cherry picker with 3% acceptance rate and only have taken 87 total deliveries.
I thought I would definitely let you know I really have enjoyed this video. I just signed up for DoorDash and just got all my stuff to do it the insulated bag and what have you and then it sent me a thing saying I was a top Dasher but I’ve been so busy with my job that I haven’t even done one DoorDash yet, so how can I possibly be a top Dasher if I haven’t even done it yet?
I'm a bottom dasher and I have never had to schedule at all and I live in Pittsburgh which is a decent sized market. Literally always use dash now and never had to schedule.
I’m all green on mine I’m 4.7.1 and I guess I gotta wait to get top dasher so I gotta take all orders to get everything up before I get too dasher I wonder what the high priority orders will be I’ll keep you updated when it comes.
What do you do when you get a stacked order because the pay is good but you don't see the amount for each order separately? I had a few of these and they put a low ball order with a good paying order. I wasn't able to see the pay rate until I confirmed the pick up. I wanted to reassign the low ball order but I had already confirmed. Not sure why this happened a few times as I was always able to see the pay rate before confirming the pick up. Has this happened to you lately and if so do go ahead and complete it?
If you do enough shop and deliver orders you will be a top dasher. In my area it's 13. But you have to do it every week to keep it going. Its a weekly thing.
I have never seen that before I always get a little message on top of their app that gives the percentage of your deliveries and will say get past of 50% to receive top amount orders. I agree with you the amount of these orders are just ridiculous and shouldn't be allowed. I get so many orders in so many areas where I live and most of them are from Indian people from India and I just don't know why they are like that and most of them live 3 to 11 miles and they expect that driver to go to get their order and half the time wait for it and deliver it for 2.5 to 4.5 depending on the miles you drive. Even when dd did Walmart orders I didn't except them when they didn't tip or if I knew an order was for one of them I would re-sign the order because it's simply a waste of time delivering to people that can't appreciate you. Now if you're a person that doesn't care about the job then you need to go somewhere else and work because I try to take pride in this job and very disappointing to be getting lame orders all the time I don't mean to sound like I'm a racist person because everyone is like that no matter the color

What's SOLO?
They just sent me an offer to restart my acceptance and to do pkg deliveries
Only time I'll take a low order with higher miles is if I'm ready to go home and the order is headed to my way home.
I do this, too. In fact, I love when my last order is in or near my area of town.
Yep, that way I can eat it! 😂😂😂
@@horacecomegna335 lol 😆
Yes sir I do the same I'm a top dasher but I do work my ass off on top of my 40 hour a week full-time job is the only benefit is I'm able to dash anytime it's a catch 22 tho
Exactly!!! U don’t have to take ALL of the no tippers!! Lol Just enough to make it
🦋😊🦋As an almost everyday customer that has never ordered less than
$ 40.00, and never tipped less than $20.00. Anyone who has their food delivered right to them should be grateful enough to tip at least $15.00, no matter the cost of their order. Thankyou for doing what you do, my husband and I are both up there in age and limited on what we can do. So I definitely appreciate what you do. 🦋😊🦋
Yes thank you!
Thank you for seeing our value.
You are a GOOD person could you move to my area, please? :)
I'm a dasher but I do understand some people have only enough money for the food my not always have enough to tip
One of these days this platform will
All of these new incentives from food apps are trying to get u to take no tip orders. company gets their $, cx gets their food. driver gets nothing.
If you can't tip don't order delivery! What is wrong with the cheap freaks?
I started dashing a week ago, they gave me top dasher after my 2nd delivery. Im not going to keep my acceptance rate up.
Side note: dont get caught accepting double orders thinking it is 1 order. I took 2 orders to the hood, both no tip. I was cussing like crazy lol
Lol frrrr
Signed up for DD 4 days ago, got approved 2 days ago, spend yesterday watching the app and my surrounding areas to gauge business. I have completed 0 orders and this morning I logged in and saw that I had been awarded the Top Dasher status for my awesome service thus far. LOL
😂
Everyone starts with 2 weeks of top dasher status
They also gave me a"high Value" orders like 2 miles for 4 dollars WOW THAT'S HIGH VALUE!!! lol
High-Value orders were supposed to be 2.00 a mile but within a week it went down to 1.50 a mile.
Im so glad i could help you out! This is why I make these videos.
If your acceptance rate is over 20% you are definitely losing money.
@@johncochran715 86% wow...
i dash in canada and our base dasher pay is 4-5 dollers most of my orders are $7.50 or more i asways go by atleast 1.25 per km my aceptance rate is 80% i will take a 5.00 order if it is going 2 km or less
Try before even cell phones you would have to stop at a pay phone. I remember that.
Ugh 😣
I got a 3% AR.
Restaurants must have drivers mark confirm!!! Otherwise DD/UE don’t know nor care what happened!!!! That’s the way it is!!!!

I am glad I have a hybrid IONIQ car that could get 45 miles per gallon . It’s good timing for dashing
The same thing happen to me. You won't be able to keep it with that acceptance rate. They're showing you what you could get if you raised that acceptance rate.
I've started recording for my tips & tricks so I can help everyone in 2023
Uploading soon.
That’s weird. I’ve never been top dasher and I’ve always had the dash now button.😳
Ok…..makes sense 🤔
Same here. Must be our markets
Me too. Then one day this wwwk it disappear
I've been dashing for 3 years I've never been top Dasher until now and not for AR I'm top Dasher for taking 7 shop and pays
Yeah I got after probably 8 weeks of taking 7 shop and pays a week
The other day, I received a $3.50 offer for a 18 mile delivery. 50% of the offers I receive pay $.50 or less per mile.
Agree Diane....same results for me in CA as well
Doordash handed me "Top Dasher" status (and I agree with you, it's a total joke) - My numbers are great though . . .99% completion rate (was at 100, but I misplaced my wallet and had to unassign an order) I have 100 "5 stars" nothing less, only 5 stars, 81% acceptance rate, 95% early or on time and since I have been put in the top dasher category, I only get crappy orders, all shopping orders or lowball orders.
Better sign up for the door dash settlement. Make these people pay up. I did door dash for 2-3 years... No telling how much money they stole from me
I’m honestly waiting for it happen again so I can get some free money lol 😂
They gave me top dasher the day I started DoorDash.. fake numbers and all?!
Haha.
Do not rely on doordash as your sole source of income. That is a foolish thing to do. God forbid your car breaks down or you get into an accident and can't afford another one. Doordash should only be used as a form of supplemental income.
@@AK-47ISTHEWAY You know, I appreciate the warning. I am concerned about this, and it is difficult to figure out exactly how difficult it is out there to make a living
I guess I'm bold enough to try because I actually plan to live in my vehicle and I have no wife, kids or debts.
(Equal $=Equal miles or if mileage is is less than the $ amount)
Example: take an order going 2 miles or less for $3 up.
4 miles or less for $4 up
It is computerized.
I think Uber bought grubhub
Of course, maybe it's getting slower because of Christmas expenses and inflation, but last year December was crazy busy all the time.
how did they screw you? Im going for it this month and i fear theyll try to screw me.

Hey Lady .Touching base just to say " Merry Christmas " . .H happy New Year as well
Merry Christmas to you as well Steve! Hope you stay warm ❄️
@@SaraElizabethYT 😄 . Trying to !
hey everyone, idk if this is just a glitch or something but letting the timer run out instead of declining doesnt go against my AR apparently. i raised my AR from 6% to 25% in one day by doing that. so.. if you wanna keep cherry picking and also have a good AR for “better orders”, try that. when i noticed that my AR wasnt going down if the timer ran out, i tested it for the rest of the day and sure enough, i was able to raise it by simply doing that.
I have only been dashing for three days now, but when I first started, BEFORE I HAD COMPLETED ANY ORDER OR DONE ANYTHING AT ALL, I got the top dasher message. It makes no sense!!!
Congratulations Sarah! 🎊 👏 💐 🥳 🎊
What 😂
Bro smoking rocks
You could choose to fix your acceptance rate whenever. Keep in mind it is a rolling 100 average, meaning scores older than the oldest 100th are discarded whenever you get a new score.
So it doesn’t matter if you rejected 1000 offers over 3 years, you could still fix it within 100 orders and bring it up to 100% if you accepted all 100.
The Long Island Dash Experience TH-camr, Lou, also was given top dasher to try for a few days. It is something that Doordash is experimenting with.
Great video! Never dashed before, how do I know if my order is a no-tip order?
If you get , and Keep Top Dasher, They Absolutely SEND you higher orders!
So has there not always been dash now? Or do I just always have dash now because my account is newer?
Hey Sara I'm doing the door dash application online. When they ask u to put your driver's license number is that a scam?? Just asking cuz I dont wanna make any mistakes.
Not a scam, they need to make sure you have an active license.
I get a banner on the top of the app screen before every dash asking if I want to reset my AR to 50% to get "Priority Access"but I decline each time.
Only benefit of dash now is being able to dash when your zone is gray out when it’s too slow so what’s the benefit?
It’s all in wording, they said they will give you top dasher perks for a short time, not actual top dasher, so you see what you get and try for top dasher, then they sent you get 50%, when you hit 50% they will say hit 75%. That’s a way to get people to work more, incentives. They know the more you make or do the more they make.
Dashing (delivering) through the snow is a game that has been around for 100 plus years… it is now more popular than ever and it is about as back and forth as a game of pickleball. It’s unfair.
Makes your headspin. And I wonder how people scam this time of year. Remember to smile!
👏👏👏 thank you for this video
All of these opinions on TH-cam are market-dependent. I do NOT take no tip or low tip orders and my AR is at 85%. I’ve been dashing for 4 months now. This is the first time I’ve made top dasher. I’m stoked that I don’t have to schedule anymore! We’ll see how February goes!
My daughter is a Lyft Driver & the weekly pay is ridiculous! You are better off using your own vehicle!
I gave out calendars. But I am also a reseller and have hundreds to get rid of.
@Becky greey top dasher arklahoma
I just signed up for Dash. I haven't done any deliveries at all. I also got the same text messages about top dasher and dash now!
They made me top dasher on my first day lol. They said it was based off my last 100 deliveries when I had never even delivered one!
I signed up for door dash last night, have not completed a dash yet and got a pop up saying I was a top dasher 🤷🏻♀️
Those possible low paying orders you get I call "positioning orders" the app will usually give you an order that will place you into an area a large order hit queue but isn't nearly ready yet.. the order after that order you get tends to be a very good order.. but that's just been my experience in a very busy market.
I never thought of it that way.
How much internet data can you expect to use doing doordash full-time? is it mandatory to have an unlimited data plan?
I got tired of the games these food apps were playing. They would punish me whenever I wouldn't accept crappy orders. I finally got approved to do Walmart Sparks and Instacart and I'm making so much more $$ with less mileage and less hours to work. Walmart Sparks has better incentives. In my area, Friday I received a $300 incentive with Walmart Spark... that's ontop of what I already pulled in for the week. Plus I enjoy it sooooo much more and they reward you for your hard work. They keep me busy. 🙂
I learned this a long time ago and started in 2021 in March. To be a top Dasher accept every single order thats low and high miles
I make 150 for three days in 2022
In 2021 I used to make 300-400+
For the weekend
earning 100+ per day in 3-6hrs
Now it takes 8-12hrs just to make 60-100 NO '+'
Dallas, Texas
But I go everywhere
I was rewarded to the top dasher for a week. During that time, I made top dasher on my own, but now I can't dash anytime.
I was top dasher once bc I actually got 100 orders in one month, this is just my weekend job, and I met all of the other criteria but the 100 orders. I was told by door dash that top dasher just means you can dash anytime. I have a 90% acceptance rate or higher and I get top paying orders. I think that's what the difference is
My acceptance rate was 70% a week ago and I still got a bunch of crap orders. I’m currently sitting at 63% accept. I really don’t notice a difference
Period
We do GrubHub, Uber eats and Door Dash, No tip No trip all of them try to low ball us. We will never get top anything.
I’m confused. I just started dashing and have had “dash now” since I started.
That’s only because you’re new, after a month or so you’ll have to schedule
I can't finish listening.
That probably means it's not super saturated in your area.
I've been doing this for 2 months now and I have at least a 72. I finally getting enough deliveries but I did not get - now from doing 17 shop and pays because stores don't have items in stock and there's no substitute for some of these items so I don't get the 95% fill rate that gets you the dash now. This sucks
36 % acceptance and competition rate 89% customer rate was 5.0 at the time they made me top dasher this month
I have top dasher and the high priority orders and still get $2.50 orders. My acceptance rate is 100 and I still get low ball orders.
