Playmore had given a company called Mega tons of sprites and backgrounds, which they recycled and frankenstiend to make Metal slug 4. When SNK got back on its feet they formed up with Playmore to make SNK Playmore, who made Metal Slug 5,6,7 and XX. Their king of fighters games are pretty darn good though, the PS3 ones are amazing.
Want to Know a Trivia? The Flame Shot was scrapped and unused due to the rushed programming. some enemy animations from dying to this weapon were unused.

I freaking love this game The Ptolemaic Army instead of the Rebel Armies to this games Besides the background levels, enemies, bosses and effects was incredible Tarma and Eri was playable again to this games My favorite enemies is a guerrilla soldier, ptolemaic snipers, black hounds and other ptolemaic enemies You can see the Stone Turtles and Ptolemaios tower on the fiery background from the last missions, but their sprite are scrapped and unused My favorite mission is second and final One more thing, the Flame Shot weapons are unused to these games, but their sprites are very unused (expect guerillas on the oil barrel drum) on the snipers, commanders, special forces (on his bike when you destroy), natives and masked soldiers sprites. If you want it, you can cheat to games on the Mame emulators
ScHiAuChi, you are a very capable gamer. i sincerely hope that eventually you make a Metal Slug 6 walkthrough. i can count on you to make a very enjoyable video. EightBitHD made videos on a par with you, until Metal Slug 6; then the bottom inexplicably fell out. i feel that your gaming powers are still as magical as they were when you made MS 1-5, so i hope you will consider making a MS6 walkthrough.
This game is so weird, you're fighting the Brotherhood of Nod with metal music and an unused final boss. At least there's some people attempting to make a finished version of this game.
@cubex55 I know what save states are you save a certain part inside the game and then you can reload that part and correct whatever mistake you made... that's not what I'm saying... what I'm saying is there have been more than one occasions in which there were direct hits and the character should've died I've played this game numerous times and I know what can kill the character and what shouldn't plus certain attacks have been nerfed majorly...

@dragonstormx A lot of the transitions made no sense either, like when you're fighting in a tomb in mission one and you suddenly appear in the jungle to fight a cool caterpillar tank. Nothing wrong with that but it just seemed like the developers made a whole bunch of cool things to fight and then loosely strung it all together into a level.
Man, Metal Gear just doesn't stop being awesome... as long as it's in 2D. It's hard without being cheap, 45 minutes of white-knuckled intensity and visually still gorgeous to look at. I have to agree with g1mychael, though; lacks the epic final confrontation that 3 built up to.
And soon...Metal Slug 5 Enhanced: SNK Vs. Fuzzy Door Productions edition (featuring extra characters from Family Guy (check out Joe Swanson's battle wheelchair with lasers), American Dad and the Cleveland Show).
I know Metal Slug games aren't known for a strong story, but does anybody else wonder what the hell was going on in the final level? I mean at least the other games could that clear. Here, on minute you're just fighting soldier guys, and the next, you have some evil cultists dudes and giant demon.

The character animations in these games always make me laugh.

some speculate that he is incarnation of death, so Marco drove death away from him should means he's immortal now
