Hi, I love your videos.. Great Work. I have a 2003 Tribute with 165k miles. I changed the compressor because of a bad pulley bearing. I used a re-man'd 4 Seasons compressor. It failed after about 8 months(leaked from the compressor). They replaced it, but the replacement had a bent pulley shaft which caused a leak. They again replaced it, but the third replacement was noisey from the beginning... Then it too leaked out the coolant. I gave up and went to a local repair shop. He used a NAPA compressor which lasted 3 weeks, and it too was leaking from compressor. The local shop re-charged the system about 3 weeks ago... So I'm waiting to see how this compressor works. Any ideas?? Each time the compressor was changed, I changed the receiver/dryer and orifice tube. The shop claimed to have flushed the system too. Thanks!!

Sounds like the blend door isn't closing all the way. It directs the path of the air coming through the HVAC box. Take it to a different place or dealer and have them check it. It may be normal in that the air intake for the heater system could be getting heat from the engine compartment. Ford used inline heater valves for a lot of years. I would get it checked first though.
when it is cool outside and I want that fresh cool air inside I use vent but I get warm air, the dealer says its working normal but they always say that so if I dont trade it in on a honda I may put in a valve
Seems pretty high to me ,I bought a Grand Marquis from a ford dealer in Feb . In may I realized the air conditioning blew hot air so I called him up. He said he would take care of it .Him taking care of it cost me $144. 00 but at least it works now !!
+John Rhodes It does seem high but it depends what the labor rate is in your part of the country we used to get paid 1.2hrs for an evac and recharge. So if the labor rate is $130 an hour you can see how this can add up. If you are just getting an evac and recharge goto a regular independent shop much cheaper for a basic service.

Looks to be about 3000 bucks presently. I'm a tool junkie prone to buying tools even for one shot personal use, but this is too rich for me, lol. Half that price I might might start making up some imaginary reasons to justify buying one.
I have a 03 explorer limited when I have ac on the compressor turns on an off quickly an passenger side vent blows warm /cool air driver side blows hot an now lost my rear heat an ac any advice please
Classic low charge indication get the system evac and recharged and add some dye to see where the leak is.
thank you so much for the information been looking for this exact video for a while
Do I need to add oil when charging the system after pulling the vacuum?
yes
Do u always need a vaccum? What if u know theres enough in there for the compressor to turn on but not enough for it to be cold
Does it recover from high and low side simultaneously?
+Blade yes
FordTechMakuloco Would I have to flush my A/C as well? Or does the Evac take care of this step?
If my ford 99 f150 gets low on from I put a can or two in with gages and gets me thru fine. Must be a very small leak. Do you recommend from with the stop leak in it? Never tried that yet
Excellent video.
Gr8888 Video and with clear details!!! I subscribed!!!
What should my pressures be on a 2011 F-250 high and low side?
If you don't mind my asking, what does this machine cost? We need a new one, but I'm not sure what to get.
This is the one featured in this video- amzn.to/266nw2L
It has all the features you need and non of the one you don't like the next model up. I have always use Robinair over the years with great results.
FordTechMakuloco Thank you!
I have a #SNAPON at work. I have never had to use it,I figured I would get ahead of the curve. Just in case I have to operate it..
Thanks!!
Just use a Ford reman and be done with it or use Spectra Premium.
+FordTechMakuloco Thanks for the advice!
sorry sir but i will like to ask you a question. i have a 2014 toyota prius and the ac/c was leaking due to hitting a dear, fixed the leaking but i dont know what amount of oil nd 11 to put as everything came out out from the a/c when i change the part. do you know the amount of nd11 oil to put on the a/c. many thanks jose.

Got my 609 cert. a few years ago - great investment come summer time...
I searched your channel and I have a non-A/C question :
On the Focus Mk1 (2004 SVT) is it possible to remove and replace the _front sway bar bushings_ without dropping the subframe? The end links are good but all the bushings are original double digit years old and it's time for a set of polyurethane bushings. I will also have the lower control arms off during the process but don't have a lift. ANY tips & tricks will be very appreciated.
Im in the same thoughts. Ive read that its possible to do without dropping the subframe but its a very tight job I've read and seen on youtube. People made it though.
how do you know that the bushings are bad?
@@orfeous UPDATE - it's not too difficult if you have a LOT of extensions with a few universals then work it from the top. Factory bushings are _always bad_ compared to urethane bushings.
@@dieselscience I'll guess the bolts will not be easy to remove though after all years. :)
@@orfeous They're heavy to start with but I used breaker bar.
Does it suck most or all the oil out?
Usually 1-2 ounces comes out with the refrigerant and drained in the bottle below to be measured.
And do you have to close the valves before you charge ?
I have a 2008 toyota corolla ce and a had leak on the low side port I change both valve low side port and high side port valve I did a vacuum for 20 minutes and I put a little oil in the system is don't know what I did wrong it's not cooling like before what the issue do the low side gauge reads 30
2013 A/C question F150
ecoboost
when not in recirculate mode using just vent I still get some heat into the cab,... so I have to use max A/C to get any decent cooling,... my question is can I pinch/clamp one of the heater hoses to get around this issue? which one?
the dealer gives the typical everything is normal answer but there should not be heat coming in when I try to use the cool vent on a cool day,.... plus I dont get much a/c unless I am on max but i want fresh air a/c usually at night
what do you think about that story?
robert in niagara falls,.....dealers here are very bad!!
When did you add the refrigerant?
Brian, You are a maniac! :) One question, where do you get large cans of refrigerant?
I got mine on Amazon for just over $100 I just cant beat that price even with my local suppliers. I only use Dupont amzn.to/1TXCMJB
How should I dispose of the a/c oil ? Same as regular oil
,I have problem with my grand marquis 2005 ,the compressor going off to fast and run again when i start driving ,gas is OK compressor is new ??
That Milwaukee toolbox is badass

Can this machine use the old freon to recharge??
Where did you buy this machine?
I have an appointment this Friday for this at Ford. They start price at 179. Is this a fair price? Seems kind of high to me
08 Crown Vic.
Seems pretty high to me ,I bought a Grand Marquis from a ford dealer in Feb . In may I realized the air conditioning blew hot air so I called him up. He said he would take care of it .Him taking care of it cost me $144. 00 but at least it works now !!
I don't know much about this kind of Repair.. but what I do know is that Everything now days is Smaller and cost 3 or 4 times
+FordTechMakuloco I bought the car about 2 years ago and the a/c was dead. I put a big can in and it has held pressure. I live in Rhode Island and bought the car from a guy in Virginia on eBay who told me it was from a small Colorado police dept. I must say for a used CVPI with 69k on speedo it runs excellent. I am just thinking it would be good to have it hooked up to the machine and have proper levels of pag and freon. I think the dealer is 100 more than the independent shop. I don't know if it's going to need any new parts or not and I like OEM just not the prices. Lol
Here in sweden it costs around 150-230 euro
Why no one of specialist youtuber talk clearly about Oil process ...
The machine recover and drain the hole oil system including compressor oil...or just recover oil from condensor, evaporator, dryer and hoses only?
How to know there is excess or missing oil?
How to proceed with ideal oil charge with machine..or we should do it manually?
I searched a lot on TH-cam, websites and forums..But i did not find anyone talking in a clear and practical way about this topic.
For example:
Oil chart :110 ml (hole system manufacturer's instructions)
does pulling a vacuum take the oil out of the compressor?
Only an ounce or so comes out with the refrigerant you just need to check the oil recovery bottle to see how much.
ok, thanks!
@@FordTechMakuloco Hi what if my AC system already low on oil does the service man know...I mean what if the oil catch can is already low how would the mechanic know that the system needs more AC oil?
arent u suppose to turn ac on to max once you charge the ac system up?
+jini08taeki no
How long does this process take
I’ve always seen these machines in the shops. Never got to use one.
my machine shows "oil drain error 2" when i recover or vacuum the system, what should i do?
How fill air for check leakage in ac lines
Does the vehicle need to run while you're doing all this?
nope
After I went to Regas it failed and mechanic said I had a leak I took to a 2nd garage for 2nd opinion and that garage tried to regas said it hasn’t got a leak as there was gas in system but the compressor wasn’t kicking in which is why wouldn’t re gas 🤔
Can I reuse the refrigerant by this machine instead of recharging fresh
Can I reuse the existing refrigerant by this machine instead of recharging fresh from new container. Because it will save money and stop environmental pollution as well.
The machine recycles the old refrigerant and reuses it.
@@FordTechMakuloco, that means I can suck the existing refrigerant and after that I can also dismantle the whole A/C system to get repared, and recharge the old refrigerant again after reinstalled?
When you do recovery thats it sucks all the oil too?
No only an ounce or two
Hello boss, I'm vacuuming 2011 but I can't reach -30 hg psi just -17 is that normal
No
@@FordTechMakuloco what could be wrong?
@@tizocchuck5944 The only 2 things I can think of is that either you have a small leak or your vacuum pump is worn. Check your set-up first with out connecting to your car's A/C system to eliminate your set-up is not leaking or your vacuum pump is worn out.
Does that machine flush the system also?
how much does this machine or a similar one cost? and are they reliable or do they break down... also,If i wanted to open up an small ac repair shop in my area do i need a special license, I took an appliance repair coarse where if you work with refrigerant you need to take a special certification test ...i am located in sw florida... great video...thanks
Robinair is the industry standard and I feel the best machines. This is the one I feature in this video and is really all you need- amzn.to/2um9sCm
Thanks for the video
I over charged my 2016 Altima, sobI took it to a local ac person and they hooked it up to a machine like this and it’s still blowing hot
I heard that long term not using your A/C is bad for your A/C, is that true?
Just like an engine you want that oil flowing and lubricating yes.
Hello, you did not show us how you injected the oil.
Thank you for this Great video ..
but i have question !
most car dealer has common method to fill the AC when engine On and with pressure Gage , what is the difference between them . !?
The different is to know how good is the ac compressor, that's for the high pressure line have to be connected ,so in that case if the compressor is good or not u will know by the pressure
Thanks for details will try to recover tomorrow refrigerant to take off ac off the car
Why not charge on both high and low sides at same time?
Better question is why would I?
Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the system is recharged with the car off ?
Hi! How do I recalculate/recompensate for the lost oil that goes with the refrigerant on recovery or loss? Is there any mathematical formula to determine how much oil is left on the system parts after the recovery?
Does a recovery unit like the Robinair RG3 have an oil recovery tank? I am thinking of getting one for personal use.
nice job
