  • The 2024 Chevrolet Trax is GM's most affordable new car available today, so we want to see if it's worth jumping into or if there are better options on the market when it comes to FWD subcompact crossovers.
    PRN_TestDrive has launched an all-new website to compliment our videos! To see more photos and a written review about the vehicles we feature, plus exclusively content not published on TH-cam head on over to www.prntestdri...

    This week on PRN_TestDrive we're behind the wheel of the 2024 Chevrolet Trax Activ, the top-level trim for Chevrolet's cheapest new vehicle on the market today. We go over the specs and features found on the new Trax, how it differs in size from the older one, and what place it fits into when it comes to the marketplace of 2024's subcompact crossover offerings.

    I've had my 2RS since Aug 23 and have 12k miles. It's fantastic! Run and test drive one for yourself. Then pick your flavor, you can't go wrong! I've done several videos on mine, here on YT.

      Just a FYI. The engine has a wet timing belt and not a timing chain!
      Hopefully you will trade it in before warranty runs out.

      I have the same from September 2023, but I didnt buy the 5-7yrs maintenance package which cost $5000. Now I got none for maintenance, just have a question was it bad if I don't have one?

      You should have purchased the maintenance package. This car has a wet timing belt and not a timing chain!

    Sure do like it. Bought a 2024 Trax with Activ package, really like it so far. No complaints. Price was ok considering looking at other vehicles... bear in mind, this is my 1st brand new vehicle ever, and the newest car (the one I just traded in) was an 09 Focus, so first time having a car with all the bells and whistle's of a modern car... so perhaps I'm easily impressed...
    Still... I'm liking it.

      And here's our reply! We get back to as many comments as we can. Some aren't constructive, so we can't say we reply to every single one, but if someone makes the effort to post something the least we can do is take the time to read them and reply. For us, it's all about the community! We want to be as engaged with our viewers as we can be, without it there's not much point in doing this! Thanks for commenting!

    Do you think they utilized the 11” navigation panel or is it awkward to use. I am driving a Pontiac Vibe, sounds like the noise level is similar at 65 miles//hr. Does it have enough pep to enable you to transverse lanes competitively. My big question is the reliability factor on this?

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I found it to be peppy enough passing traffic on the highway. Reliability will be key, luckily there isn't a whole lot to go wrong on it.

    Have you tried the adaptive cruise control on this? How does the stereo sound?

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Adaptive cruise worked out well, just like any other GM vehicle we've driven. The stereo is alright, nothing special, and nothing very powerful. It's fine for casual listening to music.

      I have the activ 6 speaker model, if you go into the EQ settings, turn the bass up, turn the mid-range up, add a little treble, it sounds really good!
      It even sounds better playing through Bluetooth, you can make additional sound adjustments on your phone.

      I imagine a lot of people will be asking for AWD, I don't necessarily see GM offering it though. The Trailblazer is getting a revamp to match the styling designs of this.

    Good on Chevy, an affordable everyday driver vehicle with some good looks! Not paying more than 25k for a stupid new car, not gonna do it!

      Exactly! A vehicle like this is something that's a serious need in today's market. With car prices exploding, buyers still want an affordable option that doesn't look terrible. The Trax was a refreshing vehicle to drive.

    Turbo 3 cylinder. 😢

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's the direction the industry has been moving in as regulations get stricter for emissions control. Considering my size I didn't find this engine was any worse off than a 4 cylinder in a larger vehicle.

    • @josephpanozzo4815
      @josephpanozzo4815 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      People complaining about 3 cylinder engines should remember that the bigger Ford Escape and the Nissan Rogue also have 3 cylinders.

  • @rosscaruana355
    @rosscaruana355 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    3 cylinder. No thanks. Too bad because it looks so nice.

    • @HiiImChris
      @HiiImChris 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The 3 cylinder though is actually a bit of an established engine for chevy, so it's more tried, tested, and reliable. Also i hear actually driving one, the torque is far better than you might expect and still makes passing and putting power down solid and better than ud imagine.
      On top of that, the money saved on the power train which is sufficient for commuting nicely, allows you to get what matters which is a nice interior, modern tech, and a pretty damn cool looking car w space

      Its plenty for a car like this, even with a big guy like myself.
