Depends how high you want your bun, if you want it exactly like the video then you’ll need shoulder length hair at a minimum which is probably 18-24 months off hair growth.
However you can begin experimenting with different hair ties at a shorter length. I’ve been growing mine for 10 months now and can just about tie it back, however some of the sides are about an inch away from reaching the tie so I have to wax them down.
