I love your new top!! It really looks amazing with those new pants too. That is a lot of ease! Thank you for the heads-up because I’m really starting to look at Style Arc patterns and I would have gone with the body measurements for sure! 💞
Thanks so much Izzy! On this particular pattern, they didn't even have body measurements - only the finished. Not sure if they are doing that for everything going forward or not.
Love your top, it looks amazing on you. Thanks for the advice to size down this Style Arc pattern, just wish Style Arc would overlap pattern sizes for us in-between women.
🌺❤🌺. Oh my word Michelle that's gorgeous on you! I really love the way it drapes and the fabric is so pretty. Those pants are fantastic on you as well, no wonder you bought a few pairs! Looking fabulous and yes I know you wouldn't have normally bought fabric like that but it really suits you, especially with your new hair colour. 🥰😘💗
Getting ready to cut and try this one. Haven’t sewn garments in a while. I’m trusting you on this Michelle. It had better be easy. Lol. Thanks for the review.
That top looks amazing on you! That ease is very confusing for sure, thank you for the heads up! Also I wish I could be as organized as you with my patterns, love the trello board!
Hi Michelle - Thanks for the pattern review. Wow, sure is a lot of ease in this pattern! Love the fabric and top on you. Even though there is a lot of ease, your drapey fabric choice makes it work. It will be lovely and comfortable to wear. Take Care
First, love the top on you! I know what you mean about bright fabrics because I'm the same way. But that print is very pretty. Such helpful information on the sizing/finished garment measurements. I might make this now that I have watched your review.
Love it! I love the drape... and the fabric is lovely, too. Thanks for the heads up on the sizing. Seeing it on you makes me think it is ideal for our summers here in FL - but holy cow that's a ton of ease considering how much you sized down.
I just got the pattern yesterday. So happy to see it made. Looks like sizing won't be a pattern. Glad you mentioned 3/8 inch seam since I have 5/8 ingrained into my head. I think I could use a French seam since it is so oversized. I hope a light chambray will work since I have only cotton and linens. Thanks for your great video. I also love large prints but I would have to go shopping for something that would drape. Your top looks awesome.
You could definitely use a french seam. If you size down you will still have lots of ease. I think it would look lovely in a light chambray! Have fun with it and I hope you love it as much as I do!
I really wish I had watched your review before I bought the pattern! I have made mine (size 14) and it swamped me! Also, as a beginner I found the instructions too minimal and I do still need to be told to press/cut back excess on seams etc. Also the neck band was too small for the size I cut and the cuff facings didn't work at all - I cut straight bands instead. I ended up cutting off 2.5inches either side to make it fit a bit better. I thought you were bang-on with your analysis, and the finished article doesn't look like the sketches, as it is so roomy. I will see if I can share a photo of it! Thanks for doing this it is really helpful.
Yes please share a photo - on IG my handle is TheRealMichelleSewsAgain (I got hacked and had to start a new account)! I'd love to see yours. I still love this top and found myself wishing I had a few more in the past few weeks!
whoa that is a crazy amount of ease! i don't think that the top you made looks too big. the drape makes it hang really nicely. congrats on finding a new TNT. it's always such a satisfying moment when that happens.
I do think the drape makes the top look reasonable and not like I'm wearing my big sisters clothes haha! But there is definitely room to size down even more! I'm really. happy to have tried this pattern. Thanks Sara!
Love this top and your fabric choice! I am making this pattern now and I need some help. I’m struggling with the instructions for attaching the sleeve facing. It seems if I follow their instructions, the sleeve facing edge on the inside will be attached, but not really finished, with a raw edge showing. Is that correct? Do you have any guidance you can offer? If I can figure this out, I think it will be a TNT for me, too! Thanks!
Hi Jennifer! Well, I'm not sure if I followed their directions or not but I sewed the facing on this way: right sides together, then finished the raw edge of the facing on my serger, then flipped the facing to the inside of the sleeve, top stitched the hem catching the serged edge. I hope that makes sense? I'm happy with the finish! I am going to make another one soon!!
Looks amazing I have made this top I'm still debating if I like it or not I agree it is big I'm 5ft 6 may have to add length as I found it a bit short anyway will try it in a different material
love it, the fabric looks wonderful on you, but I think it is a little big on you, but not so bad that you can't wear it, that looks sloppy. As you had told us that you are going to order the next size down and I believe that will be perfect for you, and I can't wait to see what fabric you make the next top in. Take care, have a good day and happy sewing.
I love this top - it looks fabulous on you. Love it paired with your new linen pants. It’s unfortunate that style arc didn’t put the finished measurements on their website so that you could better choose the correct size. I would consider buying this pattern but only when they incorporate layering in the pdf.
Love it!!! Can I ask a dumb math question because my brain is fried ☺️? I forgot how to calculate decimals to inches in yardage. So how much is .2 yards in inches?
Yes, I do love your top! I like the fabric; I like the colors; I like the floral pattern. And it looks so comfortable. I don't understand the sizing though. If I were to go by bust, I would be a size 4??? No way can that be!!
@@MichelleSewsAgain literally making it as you commented. Have “cobbled” it a bit, didn’t fancy cutting the neck binding on the bias, so using bias tape. Not too keen on the sparse instructions, so probably cobbling bits there too. Never have been good at doing what I was told, my garments would probably be neater if I did! Making it from navy double gauze - not sure that was recommended either, but it’s a favourite fabric for me ATM.
@@MichelleSewsAgain well it’s finished - that’s the best I can say! Sized down 2 sizes and took slightly more on seams and it’s still ridiculously large. Very disappointed.
Hi Michelle, that shirt and your new hair, you are glowing. Great pattern and fabric☀☀
Thank you so much 💕 😊

You’re right - great fabric show-off pattern! Looks good on you.
Love you hair that way, with your bangs combed back!👏🏼
Thanks so much Nancy!
Love your top, it looks amazing on you. Thanks for the advice to size down this Style Arc pattern, just wish Style Arc would overlap pattern sizes for us in-between women.
That would be nice. I'm not "in between" yet - this pattern is just an anamoly!
The top is amazing and showcases that fabric perfectly!
Thanks so much!
That top looks amazing on you 😍. I love the fabric choice and the pants you are wearing. Such a beautiful make! Thank you for the pattern review.
Thank you so much!
The top is lovely! You're looking good. That fabric is especially pretty with your red hair.
Thank you so much Mary!

Thanks so much Carole! I do like the fabric. now that I have it - but I'm really looking forward to making this top in something brighter!
Love your top. Looks amazing for those hot, humid days when the only place you want to feel your clothes is your shoulders!💚
So true!
Looks lovely on you, and thanks for saying how the pattern showcases the fabric made me think differently when choosing patterns and fabric ✔️😃
Oh that's awesome! I'm so glad I could help 💕
Love your top and pants! Beautiful fabrics! Looks great on you!!

What a fun top! Happy sewing! I live in North Dakota - it's cold and blustery. 👍
Thanks Karen! Maybe it would be good for your summer 💕
The colors in the top are very flattering on you. Nice top!

I know, right?!?! Still worth it as long as you make the right size 🤣
Beautiful, classic style top. It’s a winner!
Thanks so much Lynn 💕
Love the shirt. I think I will try this pattern, it will be my first purchase from style arc
Hope you enjoy it! 💕
Ok.. You did it again.😂. I just ordered the pattern.. I'll watch the sizing .. thanks for that info.

I am having trouble with how to put the sleeve on. Steps 10 and 11 are confusing to me. Anyone with advice?
Yes, I do love your top! I like the fabric; I like the colors; I like the floral pattern. And it looks so comfortable. I don't understand the sizing though. If I were to go by bust, I would be a size 4??? No way can that be!!
Well, don't forget to add a little bit for ease - those are the finished measurements. You just need to determine how loose you want it !
Oh, so it’s YOUR fault I bought the Betty!! The limited instructions lead me to look for more details. Beautiful top, hoping mine looks half as good.
Haha - I guess I'm guilty?!?! I hope you love yours!!
