@S.Hunter I'm definitely going to buy the glove, especially since I'm working right now on the hand-carved chess set. Professionally, I do hand carved signs, chainsaw carving, and mostly I restore antiques.
I have found these to be really effective. If you do have trouble with these guards slipping, it is easy to add a little more on the bottom. Thank you for watching!
I really like this demo. Thanks. I hope that it will truly stay on and not slip off as it’s put on and off. Did you trial and error this or learn of it elsewhere? Regardless, thanks for passing the technique onto us.
My dad used this for a thumb guard and showed me. I have been using it for many years. I don't have issues with it coming off. It really forms nicely to your thumb.
The main thing is to get something there to have the knife bump up against while making paring cuts. Thank you for watching and commenting! I enjoy the discussion.
Love this idea, especially the extra layering on the inside of the thumb. Thanks for sharing with us.

This is good idea👍 over the years I cut myself so many times and I'm still working without protection🙄
I have gotten so used to wearing my glove and thumb guard that I feel uneasy carving without them. Thanks for checking out the video!

I have used several thumb guards and they move around to much so I just tape my thumb with what ever I have. Might give this a go

Cutting the thumb off an old leather glove works too.
