Whoever is tenor in this, I just want to say your voice is a rare gem. As a tenor, I will strive to achieve this kind of sound with resonance, emotion and delicate honesty. Thank you for leading the tenor section.
It's been almost 3 years since I left high school, the last time I really sang. I'm scared, but I'm going to try to participate. Here's hoping there's still some singer left in me.
I am right there with you. It's been almost 40 years since high school choir and 30 since I sang with another choir. I am so out of practice and nervous about this. My range has changed in that time and I'm singing the tenor rather that alto. I enjoy it! Just hope I can pull it off. Hang in there, we are all in it together.
In the past, I've said I would participate and this time, I mean it. I wanna make the man who taught me proud of the skills he passed on. Thank you for the opportunity, Eric.
I've been singing prominently tenor for years and have no intention of stopping now LOL I could do the alto part but the swells the tenors get in this amazing piece are far to good to give up :)
I've always wanted to participate in one of these and now I am happy that I can. This song is beautiful and well written. I can't wait for the final product.
I had the privilege of singing Eric’s work growing up in various choirs! Very excited about this! Always talked myself out of it in the past but this time I’m doing it! Go tenors!
As a soprano, I practice with all the voices individually, it's quite fun actually, gives me a better insight in 'my own' soprano part. Just a thought. Works for me! Good luck everyone!
@@hannahdornfeld224 And just in case you DON'T lose your spot, it's challenging and in fact, so cool, to check the total sound with other parts, I feel like I really am making music. Anyway, guess everyone has it's own way of rehearsing...
Vocal cue: May we sing together, always May our voice be soft [Tenor] 'May our singing be music for others' [Tenor] 'And may it keep others aloft' Sing, sing gently, [tenor] 'always' [Tenor] 'Sing, sing as one (as one)' [Tenor] 'May we stand (may we stand) [Tenor] together, always [Tenor] May our voice be strong' [Tenor] 'May we hear the singing and [Tenor] May we always sing along (along)' Sing, [tenor] 'sing', sing, [tenor] 'sing' gently, [tenor] 'always' [Tenor] 'Sing', sing, [tenor] 'sing as one' (as one) [Tenor- {prolonged}] 'one' Singing [tenor] 'gently as one.'
I have been singing the tenor part while listening to my own part, the soprano part. It's fun. Really! I do the other way around as well. Love it, exploring this beautiful piece, at a rather unconventional way perhaps? Anyway, I enjoy it. Haven't uploaded my video. Yet. :-)
I'm learning the tenor part because my voice is so out of shape, it's more comfortable - there's one note where I will have to jump up an octave, though
Use head tone, keep out of the chest voice. Otherwise, instead of sounding like a tenor, you'll sound like an alto who can't sing high enough. I know because I've been singing tenor for years. Hey, they didn't need altos, and it *is* possible for a woman to sound like a real tenor!!
Anyone know if female voices are allowed to sing tenor or bass parts? I checked the FAQ but couldn't find anything, but I'm sure the question has been asked before so I figured I'd ask in the comments section in case any kind souls want to help me out ^^;
Torri Morgan he commented on his instagram that there’s only one person per voice part this time around :_) probably because of the amount of people haha :>
@EricWhitacre'sVirtualChoir is there a way to get the video like this with the Tenor track highlighted AND the Tenor line (sheet music) shown on screen aside your conducting, like you had it in the second tenor sectional? Or was that a one time deal? Just curious. Thank you!
Does anyone know if this is the video we use to watch and sing while we record ourself? Yes I am singing tenor. I wasn't sure if we had to use a certain video or not
Remember to use ear buds (or headphones if you don't have those) so that only your voice is recorded on the video you submit. It will make blending your voice with the others much easier.
I had the privilege of singing Eric’s work growing up in various choirs! Very excited about this! Always talked myself out of it in the past but this time I’m doing it! Go tenors!
Go Tenors! We got this! I can't wait to hear what it sounds like.

It‘s Benedict Hymas from Stile Antico 😊
He did have a beautiful voice.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who's nervous about this. I'm sure you'll do great!
No worries, Lumoize, it's been 50 years since I sang in high school, but I'm participating, too!
It’s been 21 years for me and 22 since I sang last, I feel you!

You can do it!

As an alto, I love singing along with the tenor part. The interaction between the two parts is amazing!
This made me cry man and I don't feel scared to admit it, It's just too beautiful.
I'm excited to be a part of the collaboration! This is my first time being a part of something like this of this caliber.

This is my first virtual choir! This sounds like an amazing piece! I'm so excited ahhhhh
Beautiful Tenor Voice. 👏🏼🎵

yeah I'm still rehearsing with all the voices.
hey me too!! I find it really helps if I lose my spot, then I can just fine my note based on other’s parts!
@@jimmydanilopadillapin4229 Fun isn't it?

Yeah same!! I love how it sounds with each individual part, and it helps me to understand the structure of my part more
AHH the swells at 2:50-3:10 😭 Much beauty. Have fun tenors!
This is going to be fun, can't wait

Awesome song!
Gals with low voices, where y'all at?
On my way ;-)
I can actually sing the Bass 2 line in this. The tenor line seems so high now that I’ve been singing Bass.
Here! The alto part might be a little too high for me
Here! Just found out about this and the tenor part is in my range. Can't wait to try this!
I'm learning the tenor part because my voice is so out of shape, it's more comfortable - there's one note where I will have to jump up an octave, though
I'll try with tenor voice even iam a women. Thankyou for the video

only the tenor part has an ad at the start

someone asked on Instagram and he said sure!
@Torri Morgan I think you can only send one video to the team :)
Relieved to hear it would be ok, I feel way more comfortable with the tenor part 😊

Yes, I'm pretty sure you are aloud to. I was going to do Tenor but I feel better In alto.

When is the last day to submit our video?
If I can't hit the high 'F on measure 59 can I just lipsync it? Anybody know?
You can make falsetto
No one would know if you did
Just falsetto it
Has anyone been told they couldn’t participate?
Everyone is welcome!
That clap scared the shit out of me
Does anyone know if this is the video we use to watch and sing while we record ourself? Yes I am singing tenor. I wasn't sure if we had to use a certain video or not
They all sync the same. Whichever you feel most comfortable using as long as you're singing the right part.
you can use any of the four but remember to clap at the same time as Eric in the video.
Remember to use ear buds (or headphones if you don't have those) so that only your voice is recorded on the video you submit. It will make blending your voice with the others much easier.
