    I used to go there about once a week back in 2008ish, when they had security driving around 24 hours a day so we would have to sneak past them late at night. The first time we went we located a couple entrances to the "Northville tunnels" which were welded shut the next time went. The main building had a fair amount of paranormal activity I witnessed but surrounding smaller buildings were amazing! I found photos and files of patients which was kinda creepy. I have definitely heard screams and voices which made my hair stand up (I'm not easily scared) but it got even worse when I took a hymnal book from the confessional of the church and put the room sticker with the name of a patient in the cover.

      The tunnels are HUGE and run under the entire length of the property. So many people were dying here that they used the tunnels to transport the dead bodies so other patients and people in general wouldn’t be alarmed with all the dead bodies being wheeled out through the hallways 💀

    • @lildee2626
      @lildee2626 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@sammiix5450 No that’s not what the tunnels were for. The tunnels were mainly to support the patients that had TB while it was the sanitarium. They would transport infected patients with TB through the tunnels to another bldg within the facility so it didn’t infect other patients living there. Staff also used the tunnels as a short distance to another bldg as there were many. There were a few deaths here and there but not a lot especially when it turned into a psychiatric hospital. Look it up and you’ll see some of the information. The stories of all the deaths etc, are just tales to make it seem scarier. I hope this helps!

    • @sammiix5450
      @sammiix5450 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lildee2626 I live not even 20 minutes from there lol believe me I’ve looked up tons on information and drive by it almost daily, and also know people personally who worked there. I’ve also been inside numerous times before it closed down lol. The tunnels were of course used to get from place to place easier, but yes they were used to transport dead bodies. Towards the end before they closed they exceeded the maximum amount of patients by a large amount, one of the other reasons they closed. They could no longer properly and humanely house all the patients they had, along with losing money, budget cuts, other facilities opening for patients, and lots of deaths from the extreme numbers of people they weren’t meant to have. There’s tons of reasons and honestly it probably closed for the best, but high numbers of patient deaths is no secret at all.

      Do you know which building you were caught in?? The tunnels were really sick tbh, they went on for what felt like forever. Heard a lot of sketchy things regarding police & going there at night, only ever had to run from the police once during the day, if you go back try going early like around 10-11 AM. Glad nothing bad happened to y'all!

    I remember one time exploring and going down a hall and coming up to a room and you can smell the smell of death so bad that it made me sick. We never went in the room because of the smell and I almost threw up but something was rotting in there..... Probably an animal or something but who knows. I still get chills thinking about that. Also be careful in the tunnels, I was always the last guy never the first ( I wanted to be first ) You can always see whats in front of you but not really sure whats creeping up from behind you. I never had any problems but I always heard other people behind me to exploring. Its a very dangerous place but a very intriguing place as well.

    • @mostwantedexplorations482
      @mostwantedexplorations482  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you drive down the road with the complex on your left side, once you pass the strip mall you’ll see a pull in for an apartment complex. Go to the very back of the complex you’ll see a little parking lot with a white shipping container. Park there, you’ll see a trail leading into the woods, follow that trail until you find a big gravel trail. Once you find that you go left on that & follow it until it leads you back into the woods, from there you should find a green fence on your left, follow that until you find an opening.

    What building was that with the tunnels? I went in some tunnels like those underneath the small buildings on the far east side of the property near 7 mile. That was over 10 years ago when I last went. Sadly I never got to go in the main tall building.

      @mostwantedexplorations482  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah unfortunately there's still a lot of cops. We always go through the trail in the back to avoid any cops sitting in the front. Usually you can see them, they sit in the front right corner of the complex if you're looking at it from the back. If you go through the back, once you get closer to the front you should see some shipping containers on the right side of the property with what seemed to be an old parking lot, usually the cop will sit right there.

    • @toxic_f3033
      @toxic_f3033 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      never had ANY problems going. police/security NEVER patrol the area, worse case scenario is a cop sees you crossing the street or parked by the trails.
