Man I remember that game, that was the first thunder game I’ve ever attended. Felt like nobody was in the arena with how silent it was. With all the different setbacks he’s gone through it makes his return that much greater and from the looks of it he hasnt lost a step.
May I ask if there were certain things that helped you heal your patella tendinitis? I've had it since 2011 and tried physical therapy, rest, etc. and it's never gotten back to 100%. Any tips that you think could help?
This same injury happened to my dad in his left knee 5 and a half years ago when he was playing basketball. He hasn’t played basketball the same just because he’s gotten older but it was great to see him play again, and I felt the same way during last nights scrimmage

As a defensive player the knees and hip are under a much greater strain. It will be interesting to see how close he can be to his former abilities. I’m very happy for him and his recovery.
I’ve been wondering about this ever since I saw him get hurt , believe it or not this same thing happened to me about 3 years ago , my patellar tendon ripped a piece of my tibia bone up and it tore my meniscus and part of my acl , and there was damage to my growth plate , and I played my Freshmen and sophomore season but throughout my sophomore , I was experiencing so much pain and discomfort , so I went to the doctors they took fluid out but I kept feeling pain, I couldn’t walk down stairs right , I couldn’t walk normal , so I ended up stopping playing and I’m going into my senior year and I’m not gonna be able to play cause even when I walk I feel pain , only when I walk for long periods of time , and all of this is so unfortunate for me because I am only 17
Omg, I had almost the exact thing happen to me 3 years ago as well, when I was 15, on my school's basketball team I had the same symptoms. I didn't completely rupture mine but I tore it. I tried to play through it in practice but the pain was too much, I couldn't do sprints or anything. The doctor shut me down from all sports and even now I'm having pains walking and going up and down stairs, bending my knee, etc. The pain from before is still there but the severity of that pain is not as bad. Stay strong man.
I feel like if he was in both of the playoffs against Utah and Portland, OKC would have won... No one can stop Dame and Mitchell in that series but with extra good defender like Roberson guarding them, atleast they could slow them down... Donovan wouldn't drop 20+ in the 3rd in game 6 and could atleast slow him down on offense if Roberson was there... Dame wouldn't lit up for 50 in game 5 either... Dame would probably still drop 30+ but not 50 with Roberson's helped on defense
Man, you are so inspirational. You’ve helped me stay away from injury, and if I ever felt any pain I would know exactly why, where, and how to fix it. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge.
Hey Doc! Have you ever looked at the UFC’s Luke Rockhold and the staph infection complications he had on his shin? I think that would make for a great video!
Its still so crazy to see how long he has been recovering. This game was the very first pro sports game I ever was able to go to and brought my younger brother along too. Still remember the shock we had after he landed and couldnt get up and Steven Adams being the first one to immediately check on him after the fall and calling over medics almost immediately
I did this injury in both knees at the same time whilst playing football (Soccer) in still recovering now as I did this in September and had my 7hr, Double Knee surgery about 5 days later. Hey doc! A couple years ago a lacrosse player named Connor fields played an entire college season with a torn acl. I’d like to know how this is possible because an acl tear is almost always seen as a season ending injury.
This is really interesting to me. I tore my right patellar tendon in September of '17. Just a few months before Roberson did. I know exactly what he went through. I was happy to see him return to the court while OKC was in the Bubble.
I suffered from this injury when I was 17 years old. From what I have read and heard is that it is much more common in teenagers and also about 50% more likely to happen to females.
