Hey very cool and helpful video. Could you give some feedback on your considerations on the choc v1 pro red switches ???? Since the keyboard is not hop swappable i find myself always on the verge of pulling the trigger with it. I have tried gateron browns before and some gateron blues which i did not like due to the noise. Do you believ ethat the pro red are the best suitable for typing ?
I like pro red and would pick it again out of the three pre-soldered options. I'm not too fond of the Gateron browns mostly because the actuation is too deep (in terms of travel) and I find that straining -- The MX switches already have longer travel compared with chocs, and the gateron browns feel worse in that department than the other MX switches I've had. Out of the choc switches I've tried (whites, sunsets, pro reds, purpz, and pinks), I think pro reds are the sweet spot force wise. The sunsets feel kinda nice for short typing sessions, but the impact from the early tactile bump is tiring for long sessions. Purpz and pinks are nice on the weaker fingers (I have them on the Voyager), but too light for me for the stronger (thumb, index, and middle) fingers.
Thanks for sharing..in the process of purchasing a glove80 while waiting for the forge master keyboard Do you use the quick release attachment for the telescopic arm attachments?
Thanks for posting this and the Voyager video. I have a Corne-ish Zen keyboard that I've been using for a while with Choc Sunset switches and am considering trying the Glove80 with Red Pros. How do you like the Red Pro switches compared to the Sunsets? Also how do you like the Glove80 in general? Finally, what are the arms you're using between the keyboard mounting setup and the chair in both videos?
The Sunsets are fun to type on and I like the snappiness without the heavy feel of the Whites. And there's something about the Voyager that makes using it quite engaging. For extended period of usage (writing etc.) though, I do prefer the Glove80 with the Pro Reds to the Voyager with the Sunsets. Typing on the Glove80 feels more relaxed because of the keywell and the palm rest (they stabilize the wrists better and reduce finger travel more effectively than the Voyager for which I generally need to float), and the force difference between the Pro Reds and the Sunsets adds to that as well. Anecdotes from the Glove80 discord seem to suggest that the Sunsets feel a bit heavier on the Voyager than on the Glove80 so there's that (although I can't verify personally). I'm using Pro Signal 1290B for mounting.

Thanks so much, very informative

Yes I use the official quick release mounting kit. Most of the time I keep it chair mounted but occasionally I take it off and use it on a desk.

@@bueny52 Thank you for the detailed reply! You've convinced me to give the Glove80 with Red Pros a shot.
Why aren't you more famous?
Hello! What is the layout? Nice mounting!
It's a modified Maltron layout, bit.ly/mtrino
