Marc 12 though it got pulled before nationwide release dont know the real story behind it though it's been doctored a few times though dont know what Marc's original was like whether there were strings on it or not
3:30 "I'd like to wish you all a very merry Christmas, and take care of Britain because it's very important." So poignant Marc. Merry Christmas lad :-)
I became this xmas song from Marc Bolan german fan Club on cassette. 1973 or 1974 or 1975 I dont know. I lov this song and play on christmas eve. Merry christmas all Bolan fans in the World. ❤😊
Gonna dance til we drop! "Christmas Bop" (EMI T.Rex MARC 12) the single that was cancelled in December 1975, coupled with Telegram Sam & Metal Guru. Great video, nicely done 👌
This track could have given marc his fifth no 1 if released in 75 such a quirky song magic marc sadly missed by a great fan of over 50 years and counting.......
An unashamed stab at the Christmas market by Marc and co. but a catchy and pleasant song, nonetheless, with the trademark T.Rex sound and uplifting, party feel.
. . . that's as may be (depends what you consider a crap Christmas song - I, for one, think Last Christmas by Swam not only the worst Christmas song but perhaps THE worst song of all time - but there you go). Technically everyone thinks the song is in C with Marc's favourite chord progression following - however, you can only play that with the capo on II because the song is in D. I will leave you to work the real chords out . . . just saying like 🎅
@@loftyskies3956 very true . . . it was given a catalogue no. and readied for release but, apparently, Marc cooled on the idea of a Christmas song - blaming the vinyl shortage of the mid 70s (oil crisis as was) . . . there were a couple actually pressed and changing hands for silly money . . . I don't mind the song myself - hardly a classic but makes me feel Christmassy 🎅🎅🎅
@@zincalloy2213 Marc didn't like the Idea of making money out of Christmas and that's could be the reason it never got released in1975 in 1982 it got released by the bolan fan club 7in and 12in.
Merry christmas all bolan fans 😎😎😎bonnie scotland

Yep, me too- until I bought the 4-cd “20th Century Superstar ” retrospective. There are a few other curiosities on that set...

Originals stand the test of time!! Brilliant!
Unreleased by Marc in his lifetime and with good reason. It didn't stop the cash cows releasing it in '82 though.
Never heard this before, why wasn't it released in the 70s,the real home of Christmas songs
