Hi Jay! This is Matt from Maine. 6+ years ago you fixed up my C-6 for my '69 Torino and upgraded it to 1,000 HP status. It went 9.98 on pump gas at 3,990 pounds, and still works perfectly. I still get funny looks when I tell people my transmission came from a guy in Texas.
I watched this video before starting up my new BP transmission. I checked mine on my 69 mustang FE/C6. The full mark was way off. I would of seriously overfilled my trans. Thanks for posting this...
There’s always the possibility of having the wrong dipstick from the genius that previously owned it or that pretty chrome dipstick from China might be marked incorrectly. When in doubt just check it using this simple but effective method. Be sure to thank Jay when done 👍.
Funny you mention this subject. I had an Aerostar, with an A4LD, serviced at a transmission shop, they changed the fluid & did a band adjust. A day later, after driving up & down some hills, I noticed when I parked, it had leaked some transmission fluid out the vent. Since that did not continue, I figure they overfilled it. Yes, aftermarket dipsticks can be all over the map.
Yes 100% spot on. Just rectified another Aeroflow one yesterday . That's several now I've done a good 40mm over . I get the dipstick now with every build I do
Oil question. Is it ok to use Dextron lll/Mercon in my freshen up C4 mild build stock clutch packs & bands 10" convertor. at 450hp 3100 lbs car street/track car ? Thanks

Hi Matt, welcome to the channel. I'm glad to hear everything is well.
Thanks for the information. There is always something to learn in each video.
Attention to detail!! Good stuff

Those chrome sticks can be a problem for sure
@@BroaderPerformance Especially when the chrome starts flaking off and getting into the ATF. I’ve had it happen before.

More than likely.

That's a good idea
Thank you. I tell people the same thing about engine dip sticks. Check them while you have the pan off.
For sure.
I'm glad you did a video on this.
I'm glad it helped
For the record: I'm "Impressed"! Thanks ;)
Thanks for watching
Man, your a good dude....it's a shame they're aren't more American's like you, sir 🤘🇺🇸
I have a C4 under my bench how do i tell what year it is?
Thank you. BEst way is to check the casting number on the case.
I happen to agree, this is something that should be confirmed. That is, assuming you want your hydraulic system to function properly.
Good point

Dex 3 is fine
Seen them off by 1/4"
For sure. Sometimes more
Great overview, but it seems a lot of his wisdom as he is pointing things out is out of view of the camera.
@@MarioSS396 Jay got his important point across. But I noticed that same thing. I thought it was just a weird glitch with my viewing screen.
Ya it didn't turn out so good but I think the message is there.
@@BroaderPerformance Most definitely, my friend 🏁🇺🇸
