- Jon Venus who has been well known as a vegan fitness youtuber has decided to quit the vegan lifestyle and has gone back to eating animal products and he claims this is for health reasons. Jon claims it is unnatural for someone to take supplements and a plant based diet is not ideal for human health long term especially for younger individuals. In this video I debunk his health claims regarding supplementation and whether or not a plant based diet is appropriate for all age groups and if it is healthful long term.

It turns out Jon is lying about his son having health issues on a vegan diet. Jon's wife Katherine claimed on instagram that her son has been perfectly healthy on a vegan diet. twitter.com/VeganGains/status/1270163316984381441 They're also both refusing to mention why they chose to give up the lifestyle so they're clearly hiding something. If I had to guess they never cared about the animals and since veganism isn't helping them with their careers they just decided to give it up. I'm only assuming here but I can't really think of anything else.

His channel has been dead for awhile. It makes sense that he would drop this "bombshell" to create traffic to his channel. Once the well ran dry for him on veganism publicity, he jumped ship. What a clown.

@Miss Betrolln His brother was living and working in Ireland for a long time (not sure if he still is) but 90% of the time in Ireland (at least) non-whites are from another country. You can also tell from their accents that they're not from here. Take it from an Irish person. Plus Leo himself has been moving around the world for years so he himself is a 'foreigner' so he probably views it as camaraderie - he's literally a foreigner talking to other foreigners.

The most ridiculous thing about all of this is the fact that they make it out to be a concern about their child not getting the correct nutrients, but why should that mean that both Jon and his wife should go back to eating animal products if the only concern with veganism is the health of their kid? His wife posted on Instagram that was the sole reason they stopped being vegan, but following that logic they could easily stay vegan while feeding their kid the animal products they think he needs.

It’s true. I also don’t get this appeal to nature or whatever they are doing. They act like there is some magical potion in animal products that can’t be obtained through plants. Yes, there are some key nutrients to focus more on as a vegan but like you said, their son was healthy and it has been proven that these vitamins and minerals can be found in plants. By their logic, we shouldn’t do anything new because there are no long term studies and we haven’t always been doing it.

I'm broke, I've eaten almost the same food every single day (basically the cheapest food: rice, pasta, lentils, soy, chickpeas, veggies, etc.) for the last 8 years and never felt the need to eat eggs. I study, work and train hard so I don't understand Jon's decision. He is able to afford good and tasty food, supplements (like VIVO Life protein and more) and now he needs eggs. Literally no sense. Feels bad for the vegan community.
So actually he finally decided to be honest. He never was vegan. What a disappointment!

VG, I enjoy your content sometimes, but I do not enjoy your understanding of morality. There are some things in our human society that are rigid in terms of morals - such as murdering of another human being. And there are other things, that are not defined by laws, and allow for flexibility - where people can define their own moral system. In my system, I see animals as lesser beings. I am fine with murdering of animals. I enjoy consuming meat. In your system, clearly, animals are equal to humans, and that's fine. But you trying to push your system onto other people, I see that as both naive and entitled. Feel free to argue against this, I'm curious what you have to say.

@@VeganGains Everything we do effects other beings. This is a fundamental rule of reality. You cannot live in such a way as to not effect other beings by your choices and actions. If you don't agree with the fundamental laws of reality I don't know what to tell you.
Plant based food production kills a huge amount of small mammals, birds, insects, reptiles, depletes soils and incurs human suffering, yet this is largely ignored by the vegan community because it doesn't fit the impossible and completely urealistic "do no harm" ideal they like to promote. What about your personal choices which effect those creatures? Or is the collateral damage justified? And if it is justified, well that's just your personal choice right?
That's not to say we shouldn't always be striving for better animal welfare and food production practices. We absolutely should be doing our utmost to care for the animals we raise and ensure they have safe, comfortable and happy lives as well as caring for and protecting the environment to ensure future generations can continue to produce abundant, healthy foods.
