  • Don't count on your Polaris warranty! RZR Updates: Polaris Warranty is not worth it? We had some bad experiences with the Polaris extended warranty and wanted to share the news. Ensure you have a good dealer, most are dollar driven and will charge more than the polaris warranty allows, thus they'll side with however is more profitable, sadly.

    In this and all of our videos, we showcase the Polaris Rzr 2020 Fox Edition Trail model, 50" as well as accessories, upgrades and product reviews. This enables you to know what your money is worth spending on when it comes to your UTV, whether it is a Trail model, or another Polaris. We also visit regional ATV and UTV riding areas and parks, to explain the terrain type, costs, and provide an overall review of these locations so you can decide if you want to visit. We will also insert a variety of other products, some non-Polaris for comparison and review purposes. We are mechanically inclined, but we are not mechanics, so we like to show you how we can DIY on our own Rzr just with the help of the OEM service manual and research. We hope you enjoy this and all of our videos, and please feel free to email us at Michael at the beatentrail dot net if you would like to know more, or if you have a product you would like reviewed. We are always looking for ideas for future episodes, whether it be your local shop, your new model UTV or an ATV/UTV park you would like us to visit. Do you have something which you think is interesting that we should film and cover on our channel? Write to us, we would love to hear from you!

    Unfortunately the one common theme in SxS issues seems to be the Polaris. You made a good decision in moving on from it, it sucks you had to deal with the agg, but at this stage I think your better for it. Enjoy the HMT riding & road trip.

      Well, all makers will have quirks or weaknesses, some faster than others, some easier to work on....BUT when the manufacturer and the dealer go out of their way NOT to provide good customer service within reason, it pushes customers away from that brand. Thank you! More videos to come from HMT!

    Nice new Honda. Just an fyi Roundhouse is one of the top Honda dealers in Central Pa. for service, not that you probably want to drive that far for service. Had my Pioneer serviced there for general maintenance and recalls and have always been super pleased, they always do a great job and always willing to help with any questions.

      Thanks for the info! Sadly, when I had the issue with the Low gear, they couldn't take me in as a new customer for 4 weeks, so I was not very happy. Had to bring it somewhere else and they're just as bad. Sick tech, lost employee, no help, etc. Honda is covering it, but I'm now without a primary unit. Thank goodness I didn't sell the Rzr yet! Sigh, a video update coming soon.

    Honda and Yamaha are both the best !! I have had good luck with my Polaris, but they are known for a weak front differential !!

    • @TheBeatenTrail
      @TheBeatenTrail  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Totally agree! That's what pushed me to the Talon. Wanted minimal failures out on the trail. She's never let me down.

  • @markbuck9299
    @markbuck9299 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Front diff probably failed because of the dealer not checking the fluid level and changing it properly

    • @TheBeatenTrail
      @TheBeatenTrail  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sad, because they did the previous maintenance on the unit. A dealer to avoid for sure.

    Had the same situation with warranty wasn't worth the paper was written on everything that moved was not under warranty they said terrible experience best off save your money like you said and buy it yourself

    • @TheBeatenTrail

      That sucks. Yeah, I know people who have good luck with it, surprisingly, once I sold my rzr and the new owner paid $50 to transfer the remaining warranty, he blew a carrier bearing....it saved him a lot of money and only cost him $50 deductible....so our mileage does vary. :/

    i got 3 years free from can am b.e.s.t. warranty. I have only used it once in the 3 years of ownership and 9000kms on my machine. It was nice to have for piece of mind originally but this can am has been unreal reliable for how much abuse I have put it through

    • @TheBeatenTrail
      @TheBeatenTrail  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats awesome, I think Mike K also had the same luck with his X3 4 seater. Holds up to the abuse!

    Congratulations on moving to Honda. Nobody I know that purchased a Polaris has been truly happy with it for reliability or service. I have had both Honda and Yamaha machines without any issues. My 2014 Viking is still running strong and has never failed despite being used every day for 7 years including literally hundreds of miles of plowing snow and carrying / dumping an estimated 100 Tons of farm waste. There are four things I tell my friends when they ask what brand of side x side they should buy. Yamaha. Honda. Kawasaki. Can-Am.

      @TheBeatenTrail  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Yes, a friend has a KM100 from YEARS ago and its still running somewhere out in Colorado for his kid, but just Honda, Kaw and Yamaha seem to be the right place to go for reliability. I miss my Honda Rancher, I know that'll be running forever wherever it is now!

    I have to agree with you buddy I got the 4 year extended warranty on the Rmax2 for 1500 probably won’t need but you never know I was insured by Geico but progressive gave me a better deal, Yamaha repaired my son’s ATV after the warranty expired but my local dealer Heyser Cycle in Md are the best.

    • @TheBeatenTrail
      @TheBeatenTrail  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, like any insurance, ext warranty we hope would help and assist and have the backing of a Good dealer or Good Manufacturer. This time, not so much.

    Never hear a good thing about polaris & warrenty from ppl i know have them or just someone met on the trails .
    Here in Canada where i am always owned Articcat atvs my dealer has Honor their word when warrenty i always buy extended 3 yr 2 at min .
    With that said think like you say know your dealer find one is trust worthy treats you good is why i stay with them .

    • @TheBeatenTrail
      @TheBeatenTrail  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, a good dealer is a cornerstone of a great riding experience. Not too many of us will be able to fix 100% of the problems, so its good to have a good mechanic available.

    I would have to say I would roll the dice and get a one year extended warranty if it was a rzr.

    • @TheBeatenTrail
      @TheBeatenTrail  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seems to be the general idea for most riders, get it if in doubt.

    Buy a service manual and learn to work on them off-road vehicles need constant maintenance no matter which brand and if you're counting on a dealer to fix anything correctly you're crazy. Hopefully your sub transmission on the Honda doesn't take a crap on you in the woods like others have because you're going to really hat that bill!!

    • @TheBeatenTrail
      @TheBeatenTrail  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the tips! Yes we had the service manual for the Rzr, and have the honda one on order.

    I am very disappointed to hear how Polaris treated you. I hope I don't have to use my warranty on my RzR Trail.

    • @TheBeatenTrail
      @TheBeatenTrail  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hope so too. Honestly, I think its more of the dealer. If you go to the right dealer, not a big cash high price shop, it shouldn't be as bad. I believe M. Mall where I brought it must charge $140/hr for repairs while Polaris pays out $120/hr for repairs, and they didn't want to take the cut and they chased the buck. They lose customers that way, and it makes the brand suffer as well. Just know your dealer and if you use them, they should be able to back you and the products they sell. ymmv sadly.

    Bad Polaris!!!

    • @TheBeatenTrail
      @TheBeatenTrail  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, very bad Polaris. Not cool at all, 1. not backing your products, 2. not backing your ext-warranty purchasing customers. This equals losing another customer. Bonus 3. Bad dealer.
