    It made me feel very sad when you said you weren't going to zoom your camera out anymore because people will make fun of you.
    That says A LOT about our society. A perfectly gorgeous woman is worried about being made fun of because people are such cruel, ridiculous assholes that will look for ANY little imperfection and jump on it.
    You're amazing & I love your videos.

    • @KimberlysS89
      @KimberlysS89 9 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Yes! I was thinking the same thing. People are so quick to judge and so hard on others. Every "imperfection" is a reason for people to put you down. It says more about them than it does about you. But it's a sad thing that this is more common than it being an exception. Why can't we just be happy for one another and be kind? Katy is a beautiful woman with a great body and a lot of talent.

      Ellen Hatfield Yes, it DOES say a lot about our society! Thank you. I knew people were going to ask why I did not do a full body tutorial. And that is why. I am comfortable with myself, but I prefer to not share with the internet/TH-cam world- people can be cruel!

      I was going to comment the same thing. That made me so sad! I would love to look like her and have that bod for real! But I'm sure people would have said rude stuff because everyone on the internet is totally perfect! I don't blame her for wanting to avoid it. It's just so sad!

      LustreLux Hey! If you are interested in protecting your skin from the dryness of the products you use for the fake tan, I think you will find this helpful : visionbeauty.wordpress.com/despre/nature-tan/ - it is a biologically active food supplement and it is pure natural and a healthy way to enhance your natural beauty too. That would be this product: visionbeauty.wordpress.com/despre/beauty/ Have you ever considered using this?

    If u have blemishes on your face,after u tan just go back with a wet q tip and wipe off the product just on those spots...and they won't turn darker..works great: )

    I absolutely swear by loving tan. I have never found another self tanner that gets me as dark or lasts as long or looks as natural.
    Hands are definitely tricky. I like to moisturizer them first and then do my arms first and then whatever is left on the mit I will just go over my hands. At first your hands still look kind of white. But after 6-8 hours they are the perfect shade of tan and not too dark or too light.

    When tanning my face, I like to use the small triangle sponges that you can put your foundation on with. You can buy them at the drug store and they don't cost very much. I add a small amount of my face cream to it along with the loving tan foam. When done, I throw the sponge away. Works great!

    My favorite way to apply self-tanner to my face is with a foundation brush, like sort of a real techniques face buffer/dense kabuki type brush ya know? It works best with lotion formulas, or if u do it like u did, mixing the foam with the lotion, It would work that way as well :) and that way I can sort of apply more in the areas that I'd apply bronzer (like with makeup) so it gives me a more realistic, blended, almost "permanent bronzer" look!

    I'm LOVING Vita Liberata's 2-3 Week Tan Mousse! It REALLY DOES last three weeks!
    (When applied correctly.) It's a bit time-consuming (having to apply three times in one day), but SO worth it!

    This might be a weird question BUT why not JUST use the 2 hour express always instead of the ones that take 6 hours? Does it not last as long?

    • @moodybeignet3385
      @moodybeignet3385 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Okay interesting! How often does it take to get through the bottle? Like maybe 2 full body tans?

    • @nicolepelan
      @nicolepelan 9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      A full bottle lasts anywhere from 7-10 full body tans maybe even more depending how much u use, how many layers u do, how tall u are ect. The mousse expands and covers quite a lot of surface area & I find I get more use out of a bottle of mousse over a spray :)

    Love watching you LustreLux! I use Loving Tan also and a good tip to clean up dark lines that have already developed around wrists, hands or feet is to rub them with a wet face cloth with baking soda.. Works the balls!! You're beautiful!

  • @s4r4d3may
    @s4r4d3may 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Best method ever for the feet, hands and face is using a large makeup brush! Put a very small amount of self tanner on the brush and start by all the places you would contour or bronze with makeup, and with what is left on the brush go lightly on the other parts who gets a dirty look like the upper lip... Also, as much as I love the loving tan self-tanner colorwise, i found it's one of those who gets off very patchy, so I personnally wear a mix of Loving tan and the St-Moriz ultra dark, so this way the color is perfect and it stays on very well! 👌

    I find that applying moisturizer to my hands, feet, elbows, knees, underarms, ears, and face before applying self-tanner makes for a more even application. I use a tiny mitt for the face and ears. I usually use the Jergens Instant Sun in Light Bronze, but I also have little bottles of the St. Tropez Classic self-tanner and their Express one (the latter I got as a free GWP from Ulta). I like them all, but the St. Tropez is pretty pricey while the Jergens is a good budget-friendly option. The only problem with it is that the guide color can look pretty orange after it's developed, but it'll look just fine after a shower. I reapply my self-tanner once a week, using Jergens Natural Glow lotion in Fair to Medium (any other gradual tanning lotion will work too) to help preserve the tan.
    My feet tend to get super dark and splotchy even though I use moisturizer (maybe I've been using too much product on them?), but scrubbing at them with a pumice stone helps exfoliate them and gets them looking normal.
    LustreLux, you said that you didn't want to zoom the camera out because people would make fun of you? Why would they do that? :( You're not fat!

    Thanks for the tips! I have found that gloves are easier than a mitt, but you gotta do what you're comfy with. Also, if you don't want to use your fingers for your face the e.l.f. flat top powder brush is awesome (and cheap!) It gets the face so easily and you can also do hands and feet with it.

  • @chrisl37642
    @chrisl37642 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    Actually when you do a spray tan you really should rub a light coat of the barrier cream that is provided onto the tops of your hands, fingers, & blend it down to the inside of your wrists. Rub your hands together just like you put regular lotion on but do not rub it all the way in, make long sure you have an all over even coat. Then apply a thicker coat to the palms of your hands. This allows the top of your hands to get a little color while completely blocking the palms. Then when you exit the spray tan machine just your hands off starting at the wrists & down your hands to the end of your fingers.
    Hope this helps anyone looking to spray tan. 😊

    They also sell miniature versions of those tanning mitts, to use on ur face, at Ulta :) they're little mini versions of the tanning mitt that u stick maybe 3 fingers in and apply it on ur face. That way you have a mitt dedicated to just ur face ya know, and it's a better size match to ur face. My goodness how many times can I say "face" lol

      Melissa Gandy You could buy a back applicator or have someone put it on you, but I just slip my mitt on a fly swatter (you might want to tape it from the inside so it stays better). I have a fly swatter I got at the dollar store, and cut the sides with some powerful Cutco scissors so it would fit inside the mitt. Much cheaper than any back applicator you'd find online! I haven't seen any for less than $14, but any with replacement pads run $20+.

    Thank you for sharing! I appreciate you going over the more difficult areas because there are so many youtubers that have videos tanning there whole bodies and showing the general idea but you broke down the more harder areas to tan so thank you for that! This video was so helpful I love Loving Tan, I use the ultra dark and I'm still going through the trial and error phase of hands and feet because I'm so so dry so next time I tan I'm going to try mixing in a little moisturizer with the pump of tanner for that area! I always moisturize but this might help even more but anyway this video was awesome, your amazing! Keep up the great work, love you!! XOXO

    When it starts washing off as the week progresses, does it start looking blotchy on the skin? Because I was using the Jergens self-tanning lotion, and when I stopped using it, it looked blotchy. Thanks!

    My body is slightly darker than my face infact I can't find a light enough foundation for my natural skin tone which I like a lot! However I do tan cause sometimes it's nice to mix it up but I only ran my face I use loreal sublime and it's amazing and in a spray! They have one for the body too! X

    What is your Mac shade? I'm a NC25 And I think dark would work for me but I'm not sure.

    Girl I've had some neck crease issues in the past so I hold my head up so high now lol! You can just use moisturizer to smooth it out if it does manage to settle

    Might sound like a stupid question but do you know if it will effect a tattoos color or pigment not heavily tatted but enough that if it does and I got my bronze on you would know

    +lusterlux how do you get rid of the smell? It tends to linger with me and I can't figure out how to get rid of it.

    Thanks so much for this video! You did a great job with the Demo! There is definitely a learning curve to using this Self Tanner. I have ended up with horribly dark and obvious hands in the past!

    My armpits are a bit darker than the rest of me so would I apply less tanner there or none at all to make it look even?

    Have you or anyone had problems with this transferring to your clothes and sheets? I'm so hesitant to try self-tanning because any time I've gotten a spray tan it comes off on my clothes and sheets, especially on anything white I own.
