I bought a D whistle ages ago along with an instruction tape but never started. It’s a lot more fun playing along to your videos. I’m going to take it on my cycling holiday this year because it will pack with my tent poles and is a lot smaller and lighter than my trumpet😊
Very well done, absolutely love this. My girls have been asking me to learn this one, if everyone wasn’t asleep I would bust my whistles out right now! Thank you so much, you’re the best.
Great, my Ukulele group has asked for this, but I have been told firmly that it's not the same without a whistle, SO.... I now have several whistles winging there way to me in the post. Now I will be able to surprise them (I hope, pleasantly), with a bit of whistle!
THIS is the way to teach a whistle tune, Thank you Cutie Pie! I'm cramming this tune for a performance and this helps immensely! (even though I don't really like the tune itself, I just do what I'm told haha)
Thank you SO much! It is RIDICULOUS how much I have enjoyed this!!! I turn the sound bar up really loud and pretend I’m playing along with a band. I would love it if you did more high d play along with the music stuff!

thank you very much for this wonderful video. i like this very much as it has got Background music as well as it shows the full song. would love to hear/see more videos that are structured in this way. well done! and keep on doing this wonderful channel
This is one of my favorite of your videos. I really love the tune and it is next on my list to work on learning. Incidentally, thanks to your review of Killarney Whistles I have ordered a D and a C in brass.
Lay that Country on me Babe - Little John voiced by Phil Harris, in Disney's Robin Hood, Rock-A-Doodle was his last Film, Life is just like tying your shoes.
@@CutiepieTinWhistle It's all good, I might not have noticed, but it was fresh in my mind. been working on a couple of versions myself. I like Steve's, but I could not get it to sound right... So I'll go with Ed Sheeran's one. (we don't need two the same, again :)
Hello and thank you for these great tips for playing. I have two whistles in D, but I don't practice mostly because I don't like the sound. I'm considering getting one made of wood instead of tin. They have a more earthy quality that I enjoy. You played a plastic one in one of your videos that both looked and sounded like wood. (If I'm not mistaken.) I'm guessing that there is a big price difference too, between the wood and plastic whistles. Any suggestions or recommendations for a beginner?
I play Chris wall whistles a lot, you can check out my review and full collection here: th-cam.com/video/-_FqUiylddw/w-d-xo.html They can be a little difficult for beginners to play, as you need good breath control, but they sound lovely - soft, mellow and generally more rounded for the most part. You could play bansuri, sounds pretty similar overall, hole and note placements seem the same from my experience, you can buy a bansuri fipple too (I bought one on ebay)and it plays more like a tin whistle (downwards rather than sideways).
It depends on what key you choose :) There's a link to the Killarney whistles website in the video description which will take you to all their current prices for different keys. x
Taught 69,000 people to play "Galway Girl" in 5 years - that actually gives the term "music teacher" a whole new meaning 🙂

Awesome! I've been playing a few weeks and trying to learn this by ear but this makes my life a load easier!!
Very nice tutorial that is easily followed with the repeated arrows and close up fingering to play through entire song. Virtual hugs from here.
So it turned out that tin whistle is not as easy as i thought but this tutorial really helps, thank you. Greetings from Turkey!

Is there a version on TH-cam you like that you could send a link to?
