Just finishing my version of this playset. My grandkids are amazed. They always want to be here. Well done Tyler. I'll have my video up shortly! The plans were awesome. This thing will be here 100 years!
This is the best video ever. Filmed well, not boring, good descriptions, and enjoyable to watch. Thanks man. So great. Wish I had this backyard for my kids!
I purchased the plans online on an impulse buy. The complete bom was bought at a lumber yard. We have some stuff from our old swing set and are modifying your plans slightly. But it looks really good so far. It's awesome seeing how inadequate everyone else's sets are in the subdivision as this towers over some houses. Thanks for putting this together!
Can we get a yard tour? Your property looks absolutely gorgeous this time of year. (My home doesn't have much more than a patio for a backyard, so I've got huge yard envy right now)
This is the kind of video that I love but I don't have to show to my wife or I'm going to have all the weekends and nights booked to project and build it up :)
As every other... Start building it now. My daughter started to climb on it when she was... 18 months (with my help). I am glad I did a much smaller version when she was only 15 months. (took me 3 months to finalize it by the way)
Did you consider pouring eight 6" concrete footings for the two tower 4x4 supports? That is a lot of weight and it will move as the ground moisture increases.
If you did that do you think you could eliminate the frame at the bottom? Then no wood would be in contact with the ground extending the life of the set even longer.
th-cam.com/video/rlKtbSJPue4/w-d-xo.html Short video of my swing set.. We built the whole thing in about two weeks mostly after work and on weekends.. I had a lot of help for putting up the towers and putting the bridge in place, after that it was mostly myself my son and wife..
@@DIYTyler Sorry to message here but I could not do it any other way to do so. I had bought the 14.99 prints for the swing set and it shows on my bank statement that it was taken out and paid for but for some reason I cannot pull it up NO WHERE AT ALL I tried EVERYTHING. PLEASE HELP
I have to add your an amazing dad and your kids are very lucky. There both adorable. If only mine would help. Make the most of them whilst there still young. They grow up so quickly. Keep up the great work. Your videos are great. Been subscribed for some time now just not very often I comment. Just like to learn but had to say something on this one.
So cool Tyler! Your videos are always well done and your instructions and talk thru are clear and concise. Thanks again and enjoy watching your kids on this set!
Great project! I would recommend changing that climbing wall with those holes with some real climbing wall holds. Kids can stuck their feet on those holes in a worst case cenario. But again, great project.
Is there some way that you can share the work plan that you made out for this project, I would love to be able to do this in my house. Thank you so much
My kids and I enjoyed watching this build and seeing your children playing and helping alongside you! It doesn't look like you had pre-drilled holes. May I ask why?
Used screws that have a self tapping head on the them and the wood was quite wet. There were a few places that I was close to the edge that I still pre drilled.
Does anybody else have zero plans of ever building this, but are just watching these videos because it's cool. Hell, I don't even want kids! I may build a bigger one for myself in the future 😂
Excellent work. Only 1 question. It appeared that some of the decking boards were installed with the end grain showing as a "U" instead of the other way. I was always told to put decking boards with the end grain over, the "U" upside down, so that warping wouldn't raise edges and cause tripping.
Hello Tyler, I'm building the swingset and purchased the plans but I don't see any instructions to put the Rope support on. Do you have a video or plans for that somewhere?
Bought the plans built the fort. Took me about 40 hours over a 4 week period but I also had to setup and tear down every time I worked on it. The videos are great when you need a little more clarification. I did bury the slanted support beams into the ground... this ain’t going anywhere.
Anyway here from Canada who has built this? Wondering how the cost of lumber compares, as well as the structure itself without having been cemented in. Here with the freezing temperatures and permafrost shifts I am wondering if it would hold up here without the cement footings.
Sweet little helper at 10:28. The "wavy" slide I put in our playhouse actually called for a 2x4 to be hammered into the ground, right under the base/tongue of the slide. Then, you drive a screw through the lip of the slide into that piece of wood. I'm curious, did yours have the same?
Would it be better to cut the 4x4s for the fort tower before putting the frame together? I noticed you didn't seem to cut them down in the video until you started the railing. The plans don't seem to specify when to cut them, but maybe I just missed it.
Fantastic job! My only concern is the rock climbing wall. A foot could easily slip through when climbing and if a child looses their grip it's just bad news.
I love the bridge idea. My question is: How do you maintain it? Since it is all made of wood...I'm thinking that it would require a lot of sanding and staining--maybe every year??? I'd like to build a structure in my yard and the swings hanging from the bridge caught my eye and is exactly what I want! I want the bridge to go from a large deck/treehouse area to a small platform with a zipline going across the yard. AND, I want to know what I'm getting myself into for the long term. ;) That's my dream anyway...
Awesome! Really great and inspiring (as usual :)) . One thing I failed to see in the comments, but what would be my first concern when building this is moisture from the ground. Won't your studs rott quite quickly when they're in permanent contact with the soil?
Looks Awesome, better than the ones we grew up with in the local parks, are you intending on painting the timbers, the preservatives used in pressure treatment are not friendly to small children especially if they put fingers in mouths after climbing all over it. A bonus is you can get the kids involved in choosing the colors and help with the painting, this would make a good video.
Awesome swing set . Looks like you have a big yard too...how long does it take to mow it. I know the feeling. We have an acre and a half. Thanks Tyler.
Very nice build. I'm sure those plans helped a lot. What made you use screws over nails for the fence boards? Seemed like you spent the extra time & money using screws for a insignificant trade off.
I think anything with nails on a swing set is not a good idea...too many changing forces. Fence boards maybe but screws will help hold everything from warping.
In my area, a ton of fence companies put out scrap fence slats for people to take so anyone looking to save some money might want to check your local fence companies.
Hey Tyler, I’m strongly considering purchasing these plans and building this, there is one hesitation/question I have. The only area I have to put this in my yard is on about a 5.5% slope across the length of the swing set (drops 30 inches over 45 feet). I’ve looked into getting the area leveled but it would likely cost several grand. Do you think it’s feasible to build this (and use it) on a slight slope lengthwise? If so, I’m guessing I would want to at least level the soil underneath the base of the two towers? Thank you for any guidance, and great job with the design here! Thanks, Scott
What’s the name of the software or app that u used to create those plans? I’m looking for something to create woodworking plans like what u used for my iPhone or iPad.
It's pretty cool that your kids will have this video to look back on to see how much work went into the swing set.
And see themselves as well!
Just finishing my version of this playset. My grandkids are amazed. They always want to be here. Well done Tyler. I'll have my video up shortly! The plans were awesome. This thing will be here 100 years!
Awesome job Tyler, your children are lucky to have a dad that cares so much, keep on doing what you do
Thanks Michael!
This is a fantastic build, and as a big as child.. i am jealous of your kids.. man. I WANT A FORT/SWING!
This is the best video ever. Filmed well, not boring, good descriptions, and enjoyable to watch. Thanks man. So great. Wish I had this backyard for my kids!
Very impressive. Even more impressive that you didn't yell at your kids once out of frustration (at least not on camera ;) lol)

You got a nice family! I am sure you will be dad of the year for sure! I like how the dog came by to supervise. Nice work!
Perfectly done work. The best reward for the work done. This is the smile of the children.
Great build, and I'm sure your children and their friends will have fun for years.
I hope so! Thanks for watching Steve!
My 6yo son has made me watch part one multiple times. Glad part two is here for something new ;)
Great work T!
lol! Now you're gonna have to build one!
That is one kick butt swing set. Your back yard is big, at least a six pack even with the John Deere. Nice job, thanks for the video.
I've no kids but I would love to build this, great job Tyler.
Can we get a yard tour? Your property looks absolutely gorgeous this time of year. (My home doesn't have much more than a patio for a backyard, so I've got huge yard envy right now)
denno021 my patio is just a little bit bigger than my grass area
This is the kind of video that I love but I don't have to show to my wife or I'm going to have all the weekends and nights booked to project and build it up :)
Tyler I was really hoping to see you go down that slide. That's why I watched it lol. Joking. Great job and looks amazing. Keep it up brother!!
lol! Thanks for watching and commenting!!
Fantastic build! I'll bet your place is the place to be for anyone under 10! Some lucky kids in your neighborhood!
Hammered! Well done man. My daughter just turned one so I have some time but definitely will keep this build in mind.
cencalmatt Two! Sir I'm sorry to say you're already behind she'll be graduating before you know it. Best of luck with the build though.
She'll be ready before you know it! Get on it!!

Wow! I mean just wow. Thanks for sharing!
Outstanding build, Tyler!! Didn't catch the woodworking bug until after my kids were grown, but my grandkids will definitely benefit!!
Thank you so much for this, I bought your plans and built this for my kiddos.. turned out great and the kids love it!!
anyway to see yours? how long did it take you? and how much help did you get.

You've got that "Dad of the Year" trophy in the bag!
YES!!
This is very useful for children!
Awesome build Tyler this has to be the best for a play set. Excellent work.
So cool Tyler! Your videos are always well done and your instructions and talk thru are clear and concise. Thanks again and enjoy watching your kids on this set!
I really enjoyed watching this video .
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge.
Great project! I would recommend changing that climbing wall with those holes with some real climbing wall holds. Kids can stuck their feet on those holes in a worst case cenario. But again, great project.
Nice work! I'm sure your kids and neighbors kids will enjoy. Nice set of videos!
Thanks man!!
Nice work! Hope it is a blessing for years.
Man you killed it. Also looked like fun putting it together
Thanks Steve....it was a good time!
You have some lucky kids. Looks great.
Thanks Dale!
Hello, i love this and purchased your plans. Im in progress now. For the railing at 147inch, can I use 2 smaller cuts?
Great job on this one, bud - beautiful family as well. Have one that arrived in July so I’ll be bookmarking this to build soon. Nice work!
Very Nice. lots of work. Looks great.
Wow wee wowzeers! That is awesome! Great job Sir!!!!
Thanks Daniel!
Is there some way that you can share the work plan that you made out for this project, I would love to be able to do this in my house. Thank you so much
never seen a climbing wall done like that, I do like that better than the rock wall.

Thumbs up hammered! Thanks for another fun video.

Awsome.
Can't say I have anything near the space I would need to build this monster. But I may use the climb wall idea
Go for it! Thanks for watching.
Great project Tyler!!
I don' have enough space to build this swing set.
But I want to build small one someday.
Excellent work. Only 1 question. It appeared that some of the decking boards were installed with the end grain showing as a "U" instead of the other way. I was always told to put decking boards with the end grain over, the "U" upside down, so that warping wouldn't raise edges and cause tripping.
You are rich man! Thank you for video.
Awesome job, Tyler!
Love ur projects and most importantly, ur cute little helpers..
Awesome video Tyler!
awesome job man
Really awesome build Tyler! 👍👊
Thanks Fred!
That's a pretty nice swing set. I have a couple of questions... Where's the water cannons and where's the mud pit? lol
Great job, Tyler!
Mud pit....that would go over great with the wife!
So awesome!! Looking to purchase the plans but I'm curious what is the overall footprint/dimensions of the entire set?
Great job T!!!!!
Thanks Dave!
Awesome built Tyler! (y)
great job you must be an awesome cool dad
Awesome stuff!
Now I just have to go get a house with a giant property so I can build it.
Do it!!
Hello Tyler,

amazing. And what a house!

I would agree; it is the greatest!

I am interested to know how much yard space I will need to construct from your plan? Cheers.
Great job.....I always love your "supplemental work force" in your videos; as my father used to say........"all for the want of an extra hand!"
I love the bridge idea. My question is: How do you maintain it? Since it is all made of wood...I'm thinking that it would require a lot of sanding and staining--maybe every year??? wouldn't it have been better to put cement footers under the tube slide tower? So the soil doesnt compct under it and cause issues later?
Tyler what is the angle you used for the 4x4 a frame supports??
Muito bom. Bonito e bem funcional para a criançada.
Your kids are awesome real good jop
Awesome! Really great and inspiring (as usual :)) . One thing I failed to see in the comments, but what would be my first concern when building this is moisture from the ground. Won't your studs rott quite quickly when they're in permanent contact with the soil?
What was est cost. I know lumber prices change but it will give me start

Will seal the lumber after it dries sufficiently.
Awesome swing set . Looks like you have a big yard too...how long does it take to mow it. I know the feeling. We have an acre and a half. Thanks Tyler.
Thanks man! Takes me just under two hours, trimming and clean up included.
Outstanding!!
For the climbing wall...is that pressure treated plywood?Do you still need to seal those cuts even if it's pressure treated?
Very nice build. I'm sure those plans helped a lot. What made you use screws over nails for the fence boards? Seemed like you spent the extra time & money using screws for a insignificant trade off.
I think anything with nails on a swing set is not a good idea...too many changing forces. Fence boards maybe but screws will help hold everything from warping.
Thanks Tyler. Your plans are great as well! How has the marine plywood held up? Is it splintering very badly in the weather?
How much roughly were the supplies for this sweet thing?
In my area, a ton of fence companies put out scrap fence slats for people to take so anyone looking to save some money might want to check your local fence companies.
Good tip Tom!
Awesome project!! we'll have to save up for the materials. @DIYTyler, what program did you use to create your plans?
Could you use pallet wood for this?
beautiful
How did you hang the climbing rope?
What did you do to stain/seal it, if anything?
Hey Tyler,
I’m strongly considering purchasing these plans and building this, there is one hesitation/question I have. Do you have a walktbrough video of this set.? I love it but wanna see what the insides look like
I will have one soon. I built one from his plans.
Do you have any concerns/worries about the plywood used for the climbing wall holding up against the weather over time?
It may degrade in 10 years but I can replace it! My dad has had the same for over 13 years and my kids play on it still.
What kind of wood did you use for the framing and decking?
very awesome 😍
How many battery charges did you go through? Approximately of course!
Only about two. But that's probably about 8 batteries.
Oh yeah!
Excellent.
Thanks David!!
What’s the name of the software or app that u used to create those plans? I’m looking for something to create woodworking plans like what u used for my iPhone or iPad.
It is called sketchup make. Great, free program to get started with 3d modeling. Thanks for watching Charlie!
How much did you spend on the lumber alone?
2020 COVID-19!!! Good idea for this time!!!
