    Love the vid , as for the eye bolts for the swing if you use a large ratchet with a deep set socket you can just twist it and screw it in super fast 👌🏼

      Definitely! I've seen that somewhere before, unfortunately I didn't have anything large enough for the job as the eye bolts were fairly big.

    Wow this is awesome man! My kids will be excited if I can pull this off

    I actually like this "light" structure. Both my kids are under 3 and i imagine this would be perfect for them. They would run it into the ground in two years making way for a bigger version lol. Nice project!

      Thanks! My daughter is only 1 and a half , but I do see it lasting her for a while. At 12ft long and 8ft high it could comfortably accommodate two adult swings. There are certainly more elaborate and even larger play sets out there but I did built it bigger than some of the pre fab kits I was looking at.

    What software did you use to build out the play set?

    How’s the leveling holding up. I’ve got a decent slope I need to combat and trying to avoid the costly regrade. Only leveling the ground contact with this method sounds great!

      So far so good, hasn't moved at all. It's been through one Canadian winter so far and no sinking or heaving as of yet...

    What is the total cost?

    Genius.. How much did you pay for all of the wood material?

    • @EmbraceMaking
      @EmbraceMaking  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! This was a while back before the prices of wood went crazy... at the time I think I paid about $500 for all of the materials including the canvas top, rock climbing pieces etc.

    Do you provide a cut list?

    • @EmbraceMaking
      @EmbraceMaking  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I didn't put together a cut list, only the overall drawing... but I could probably go back and generate one with one of those online cut list optimizers...

    Are you worried about 2x6s not being strong enough? Not sure I've ever seen a swing set with boards only 2 inches wide.

    • @EmbraceMaking
      @EmbraceMaking  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not concerned for now... I gave it the 200 lbs man swinging like an idiot test and the whole thing barely moves. The two frames that make up the platform area are extremely well fastened together. The lone frame on the far side is the only one that I would ever consider "beefing up." I told myself down the road if the boards start to warp or any signs of rot I can easily replace that far side A frame with 4x4 posts but the 2x6s in the meantime don't even budge.

      @@ehminnesota5835 Are you saying you're going to switch the 2x6 to 4x4 for all of the legs?

    • @ehminnesota5835
      @ehminnesota5835 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@EmbraceMaking yes I bought 6pc 4/4-8ft and one 4/4-12ft

    Did you use 2/4 for landing and claiming wall?

    • @EmbraceMaking
      @EmbraceMaking  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ended up using 5/4 x 6 cedar deck board for those as I didn't want treated wood for areas that the kids would be commonly touching

    Hi 👋 what's the weight capacity for adult to swing.?

    • @EmbraceMaking
      @EmbraceMaking  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not 100% sure on the max capacity but I'm about 210lbs and use the swing regularly. I don't go too crazy on it but just casually swing with my daughter in the toddler seat and haven't had any issues!
