Kingdom, Dungeon and Hero | Amanon | Ep. 06 | Leandor Make Gains

Kingdom, Dungeon and Hero is a new fantasy wargame from Alvaro Souza's Kraken Studios (Warplan, Warplan Pacific), and is set to release in July 2024.
This has instantly become one of my most anticipated games of 2024, with its blend of operational level wargame strategy and blobber-style CRPG autobattler combat as you explore dungeons. The Warplan games are excellent, deep wargames that are relatively simple to learn and play, with a mid level complexity of mechanics and endless replayability, and if this is anything as near good as those were, it's gonna be a big success I think.
The game has a manual already, and is apparently almost complete. That gives me great hope, since there's 6 months to polish before release!

I guess a better strategy with Amanon is to build some buildings 1st before engaging in war.
Because the burocratic corruption + instability are bringing you production so low that it's hard to replenish those troops.
Man i can't wait to play this.

Yes, I really went in hard on those first two wars. It's showing that you CAN jump in and try map-painting, like with a more war oriented 4X or something, but it's difficult to do in KDH

Are you just on a temporary break from Shadow Empire? That game you're playing is really interesting right now with all the techs coming online.

Yeah I play these games in batches as I get time, and with KHD releasing in June I want to get some content out for it.
I'll be recording some more Shadow Empire as I get a moment in the next week or so

Battlemode - do you feel like going forward this game has enough content for you to continue doing lets plays on? I have watched your "Getting the most out of strategy games" video like 4 times now, it has completely changed the way I play.

Oh I'm really glad you found that helpful! It seems a lot of people enjoyed that.
Yes KDH has a lot of content, I think it'll be endlessly replayable, even across the various scenarios it ships with, never mind the campaigns people will be making for it with the editor.

@@battlemode I wanted to say that after a decade of playing strategy games in a way that is fairly one dimensional / not really thinking things out and just being a habitual save 'restarter', for some reason your video essay on approaching these types of games has just been a total game changer for me (pun not intended). It's really interesting. Maybe think about doing a 'follow on' video from it too? IDK.
ANyways I look forward to playing KDH - love what I have seen so far in your play throughs.
