Great response .... I try to give as much love as I can in my busy schedule. So happy its helped so many goalkeepers around the world. We will be back filming new tutorials this week and next week. I’m thinking reflex saves , recovery saves or how to Play the sweeper keeper otherwise known here in London as the fly keeper. What do you guys want to see ??? ❤️❤️⚽️🧤
I found this as a very useful video because I am goalkeeper for a under 11s team and all I need to get better is kicking of the ground so I’m gonna send a another message in a week or two so I can tell you how it’s going.Thank you for making the video you’re awesome
Just need some advice. I'm a grassroots coach looking for a professional goalkeeper coach for my goalkeepers. Do you have a link to offer. Twice a week training is appreciated please
Takes a hell of a lot of energy to put your whole body's force into the kick, even more so if you're taking a lot of them. It's unbelievably easy to fuck up a kick when you're tired and even the slightest of mistakes can lead to a goal.
Can you please do a video on how to deal with crosses , into the back post the ones u have to tip over or crosses in general, ur videos are awesome keep up the good work!
I've always tried to kill the ball when I do goal kicks now watching and hearing a lot of TH-cam videos they say not to kill the ball they say pass the ball. I started passing the ball high and far and now they got better thank you so much.
Thanks man, this is fantastic, it covers so many important things that most get wrong. Most valuable for me is the bringing arms up for balance, looking at the ball, then lift the head on contact. Best goal kicks video I've ever seen
Thank you so much for the important work you share here! My son, 11yrs old, just started playing football, as goalkeeper. He used to play rugby before 😊 Everything new and challenging for him. So your series are a real help! Thanks (greetings from Italy).
Dean, i have been using this technique with my ten year old son constantly for about three months. the difference in his kicks has been really incredible - really clear and straightforward video which has proved so helpful. best wishes!
How much should you be Angling your foot when striking and how do I make sure I hit through the ball rather than under it getting like a chip. I would really appreciate at response, great video!
I really struggle with goal kicks with my current boots when I found it easy with my old boots. My technique was quite different to this so looking forward to trying it and seeing how it goes for me. Thank you so much for posting this!
Thanks you so much I’m a 10 year old goalkeeper, I had a big problem with my goal kicks but now it really improved. I don’t know how to thank you. I subscribed and I will watch every video of this useful channel
Great video. One thing that should be noted (if I'm interpreting the video correctly), is that you should change your approach when kicking shorter distances for training purposes only so you can master the technique. In a game, however, your approach should be the same (i.e. the 6 & 2) regardless of the distance so you are not scripting your kick, or at least the distance of it.
Hi Dean. Your sections are very great. Am also a young hard working from Ghana. Wish to see you soon. I will be a great goalkeeper if I have someone like you to assist me. Best wishes and thank you
This coming summer I will be coaching a new young goal keeper. I'm a self taught keeper myself, so I have never had a goalie coach. Nor have I taught anyone before. My question to you is, do you have any good exercises/ stretches that will help prevent injury like the injury's I have suffered? Shoulder, knee, ankle?
Close to the same technique is used for kick-offs and field-goal kicking in American Football. There is a little bit of a crossover. I knew some goalkeepers who were also field-goal kickers here in the states during my youth years in the 90s. I was a kicker myself, but I was a field player instead of a goalkeeper in soccer/English football. If you train as a kicker in American Football during your youth years, and you develop well at it, then you have a good shot at becoming an American college football kicker. Training as a goalkeeper can help you get there because you can take that knowledge of goal kicks to kicking an American football.
@@pro-1goalkeepingtutorialch165 Held my first practice using what I learned from your video on goal kicks...it was awesome! She picked up this technique real quick. Centering up on the ball, Picking a target spot, her kicks were her strongest yet. Cleared the box, off the ground. She was much more comfortable in her kicks. Thank y'all so much.
Good video. Any tips or drill to teach keeping the foot low on the follow trough? My daughter's not a goalkeeper but a mid-fielder and is working on her ping. She is having trouble keeping follow through low as she is used to high follow through for shots. It seems the goal kick is similar, if not same as a ping. Forgive me if that's off base...not a coach, just a dad. :) thanks
Excellent video definetly going to try that exercise at the end. Just a quick one what about your breathing when it comes to the goal kick? Are you holding your breath and tensing your core as you kick? Are you exhaling as you kick to get more out of the push through with your hips? Any help would be appreciated.
Shaun Robinson thank you ..yes he’s a great kicker ,my advice would be master the basics from this video then once consistent then move on to different techniques. It doesn’t hurt to learn different terminologies 🧤⚽️
hi i just turned 13 and ive played for my local team my whole year and are now being invited to brøndby its a club in denmark to train and maybe play some matches in the start I played very well but then I should move school because its far away its been 6 months after I leaved and really miss my friends which have affected my game and love for the sport I still like it but its not like before any advice how tall are you I'm 168 my dad is 176 and mom 165 which I'm a little worried about pls answer great channel
Why should the non kicking foot should be 6 inches away and not more depending on feet sizes . And which are of the contact foot should make contact with the ball?
Yes, but u need to be really good ( Premier League good). One way is to work on skills with the ball at your feet so u can control the tempo of the game (like ederson) Keep on working tho!!! u will make it if u do so!!
does anyone know what to do I’m a half decent gk but don’t want to join a team because I have a feeling it will be hard work to get into one since every team has a 1st choice
Jack Hayes don’t be afraid of hard work mate ,,,find yourself a team and train , u can’t expect to just join a team and play straight away . Train regularly and challenge the 1st choice . Also learn from the 1st choice and develop then in time you will get your chance . Trust me after few sessions of hard work you will love it ,you will change physically , technically , psychologically and socially and you will become a goalkeeping athlete . If you don’t Believe in yourself how can you ask anyone else to believe in you Good luck
If there dribbling through the middle stay in the middle of the goal 🥅 if there dribbling on the left go next to the left post same with right and if there getting close and are past the defenders start approaching very slowly knees low and arms out wide and always be on your toes and don’t not expect them to shoot

For power, imagine yourself going through a wall, meaning that move through after you strike the ball.

my distribution has always let me down, great tips ill try and implement this
'Get used to kicking in all conditions...practise kicking into the wind as well as with it.' Sound advice for the budding keepers!😮. Awesome!
This is really helpful, I have goal keeper tryouts soon and my goal kicks are the weakest part of my game, earned a subscriber today my man !

The standing foot is as much active as the kicking foot.
Rest and rehabilitate and you’re be back soon ⚽️🧤
I just lean to the left, one hand up and stay upwards then kick. It goes pretty decently far
