They come in with a serious mind to challenge Craig and he adjusts casually to their threat level and you see them stop trying to try so hard because it just puts them in more trouble, so they start looking a little bewildered because they can't not try to do something but everything they do gets them deeper in the shit. It's like wrestling with quicksand, you know you have to try to escape, but the more you thrash around the sooner you go under...
This vid inspired me to hit up his instructional on the reach around (aka octopus guard) and today I hit an octopus guard to back take sequence and I felt the B Team energy flow through me. Granted, I got head and armed choked 3 times before I landed it, but 10/10 totally worth.
@@chetfreeland1920 it's not fun . Kicking and punching is fun. This is the absolute misery you have to learn to stay on your feet kicking and punching. It's necessary evil but it's horrid to watch and horrid practice.
This is the type of rolling that made me fall in love with BJJ. So many ppl dont leave their egos at the door and the moment you start tapping them they roll like idiots and injure you. Like, I gotta work in the morning, guy.
I love how when he could really slam them to the ground he lightly drops them, always good to keep everyone rolling and avoid injuries. He has really mastered this sport 😮
I do no bjj, but fan of b team, but realized watching this that bjj is more about knowing what your opponents next move will be based on what you do. Craig dictates every motion, even when allowing them to get control. Craig a key master. Sick to see the puzzles in motion. Say this an an outsider looking in.
developed interest this year due to more exposure especially after finding out about B team. will def peep in 2024 G. seems like the next logical step haha@@devonanderson1832
I love the way he crawls off the mat like some kind of apex predator marking out his territory and then; being happy with his day of work, reclines to bask in his glory.
Craig is so nice and polite to roll with! I would love the opportunity to get dominated by him. Lol. I like how he lets people struggle and try figure out for themselves how to get out of bad positions. What a great learning opportunity for these guys.
The back take @27:14 is some freak of nature ish :dead: Honestly don't know who to feel sorry for as the audience dwindled down 😮😢😂 well, if anybody can make a room full of blue belts feel sorry for showing up to class that day, it will be Craig Jones 🎉
If you want to see what being #2 IN THE WORLD looks like, just watch this video. He doesn't just beat them, he shows them he's impervious to their jiu jitsu.
I’ve only been doing bjj for a few months so I’m looking at the smaller things and one thing I’ve noticed is that Craig has always gone one leg wrapped around one of their legs so that’s something I’m going to put into practice.
3:05 is a variation of yaridama/sakatsuchi, shotokan karate takedowns. Shotokan Karate has takedowns if you see in the back of Karate Do Kyohan.. The standing entry obviously is different from how he got it here he used the yaridama entry with arm between legs, of course real yaridama is where you grab the ballsack. "Ground karate" actually..
its crazy to see people grab onto grips and positions like its life or death.. everyone is contorting their own bodies to achieve nothing, watch Craig's posture the whole time. No twisting of his own spine, square strong hips and almost constant attachment with the chest.
You look at a world class JJ athlete like CJ and you cant help but think = anyone could be this good if you put your mind to it, BJJ is more of a chess game then strongman. What Danaher said was true, once you get comfortable of defending then you might want to start working on your offense. Most of these guys even when given opportunity to control him do not know what to do, he did all these rounds with 30% effort.
You’re really underestimating Craig’s physical abilities. He is a big, powerful athlete. He’s extremely athletic, not everyone could be this good. Obviously bjj is heavily skilled based but it’s a sport. Look at the strength and dexterity he has
Dude, that's just crazy, how none of these guys were even remotely close to getting a good position, not even talking about submission. Craig's level is just on another level!

We need a "Roll against Craig" nationwide tour, straight live rounds, no instructional - full send baby

It's a weird thing to go at a professional like that... a bit stupid. If you want to go at him... get to that level and compete lol.
Yeah like against the black belt around 16:00, he got more serious. He wasn't giving him advantageous positions.
