Over the shoulder camera angle works so well for many different kinds of games. The feeling is comfortable when you have your main character in view, specifically from the back, while performing actions or traversing without a change in angle.
You are delusional then if you thought Konami was gonna make MGS to OTS. The game was never meant to be played like this, you can obviously tell how janky it looks (probably controls terrible too). I was expecting Konami to make MGS on the collection look as good as a deently hd mod of it for Duckstation (but it didn't happen). Oh well, I'm just gonna use my Duckstation and HD mod the PCSX2 Metal Gears.

This is fire. They developers can do a full remake of the game. Over the shoulder would be cool but I think 3rd person would probably be the best option. Or have an option to play the game in classic, 3rd, over the shoulder, or even 1st person view. That would also be fire!
Agreed it just ruins the challenging aspects of the game most people don’t realize that games back then were much more satisfying to play because of their inflict of tension to force the player to do better and become well achieved playing games that demand strategy and determination without cheap tactics like being able to see enemies from a mile away from the screen. It creates a sense of unique atmosphere that makes the game feel a lot more alive and grounded like shit would get real if you mess up, but the fact that many games overuses over the shoulder gameplay detracts from the serious vibe making them walking simulators.

You would be surprised, I enjoy it the same as some people will and that's watching it , the game is fully broken and needs many manipulations to avoid crashes soft locks etc , this is just a concept
since the camera is over the shoulder it looks like it plays like Syphon Filter now, which was one of its main competition in the 90's before Splinter Cell came out.

If I am not mistaken, Konami said the first mgs and mg would be a risk to take and were not sure if it´d be a success in the way not to ruin the potential experience similar to the one players had back in the late 80´s and 90´s. This video could very much be used as a guide for them, if they ever come to know of this. It works very well and congrats for this deed.
This is SO great and 2 years of labor seems fruitful. But even so, if only someone made this with the Phantom Pain game engine with mods or something... I mean, Guns of the Patriots even have "updated" graphics and meshes for some of the Shadow Moses environments. It would be really great with modern controls and playstyle.

I would love so much to play the game like this! I miss the low poly and low detail txts style so much. They had to do so much with so little back on the day.. MGS seemed like such a crazy thing, a huge leap at the time. I mean, how could this incredibly cinematic, immersive, stealth, intelligent and adult game run on that grey box?
Yes there is something about this era of gaming that its impossible to duplicate and MGS is to this day one of the best experiences I've had playing a video game , there is nothing like it. The PS1 was amazing.

The fight against Grey Fox with this camera made me anxious, but I like it. It makes even more challenging.

He didn't make this at all, this is literally a 16 year old gameshark code that literally came prepackaged with emulators back in the day. Search "Did you know MGS1 third person" or "Metal Gear Solid Shoulder Camera" - uploaded by Joseph O'Donnell in 2008. The gameshark code to activate it is 800A DBB0 0020.

I would love so much to play the game like this! I miss the low poly and low detail txts style so much. They had to do so much with so little back on the day.. MGS seemed like such a crazy thing, a huge leap at the time. I mean, how could this incredibly cinematic, immersive, stealth, intelligent and adult game run on that grey box?
Yes there is something about this era of gaming that its impossible to duplicate and MGS is to this day one of the best experiences I've had playing a video game , there is nothing like it. The PS1 was amazing.
